He'd say "You've GOT to KNOW!" He was a fierce advocate of being prepared and ALWAYS on alert, ALWAYS on watch. NEVER letting one's guard down.

Let's not take these reports too much to heart - even while we're savoring them. We haven't won this yet!!! We need to lock this in securely, first.

And THEN and ONLY THEN - we start activating on ways to enable whatever GOP outcome would be most to our longterm advantage. THAT we should be thinking about, and planning for, now. But don't put much hope in it - until we get OUR man over the finish line first.

When our daughter was a little girl, she took karate after school. There was a little boy in there

who was a budding bully, doted on by his mom - one of those who never told him "no." He threw his weight around because his family was wealthy and was paying for him, his sister, the mom, and BOTH the two nannies to take karate class. And oddly enough, he took a liking to Elizabeth. And he was always messing with her and bothering her and trying to hit her and she didn't appreciate it. And he fancied himself the toughest in class - especially during sparring class. He was VERY aggressive, and had NO self-esteem issues whatsoever (except for maybe an obscene excess of self-esteem). At one particularly bothersome moment, my husband took her aside and told her that if the kid was really starting to push her or hit her or play especially rough in class, it was okay to hit him back, or hit him, period. Her face brightened and got this evil little impish grin all over it. You could see that she was taking this in deeply and processing it most carefully. It looked like she was feeling super-empowered by what her daddy had told her.

Eventually, the whole family dropped out of the karate school for various reasons and the little boy did not complete the black belt course that Elizabeth and the rest of her mates did. But it was really neat to see her get that sense of empowerment from her dad. That's my guy! So proud of her - and of him, too! That's when I started realizing that OUR daughter was never gonna be bullied. To this very day!

Compounded by the way he and his warmongering ghouls exploited the attack for political gain.

GREAT to hear! If they're demoralized, they're somewhat more likely not to bother voting.

If they think there's no use, then why the hell get up out of the easy chair when it's just easier to stay sedentary and let inertia be your friend. So if the nagging worry starts stalking them, now they're having to expend energy bucking themselves up and denying that what's slowly starting to seep into the nation's pores is another inconvenient truth. And when you're busy trying to fix the roof during hurricane season, you don't have as much time or energy to focus on sabotaging your enemy. The republi-CONs will always find SOME time and energy because that's just who they are. But they can't make it their sole focus. They've got to play some pretty bigtime defense also. And they would rather not have that distraction.

But - as they loudly proclaimed a couple of weeks ago, they built it!!!!

What's nicest is that this low-level murmur of a drumbeat is starting around the romney campaign - that they're in trouble. That's REALLY nice! If that sinks in, that will discourage THEIR voters, NOT OURS! If they think it's a foregone conclusion that Obama may have this locked up despite their best efforts, especially with early voting starting soon, some of them will shrug and decide to sit this one out. Which will make the polls a self-fulfilling prophesy. Which will also hurt them down-ticket at a time when OUR side needs to make gains!

That said, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get complacent!!!

We do NOT have this won yet, and the koch/adelson/rove carpet-bombing hasn't begun yet. They're still gonna try to buy this election if they still think they have a chance. But at some point I imagine the big-bucks guys may have second thoughts if they think it's becoming clear that they're flushing a coupla billion dollars down the crapper. These guys LOVE their money. They worship and adore it. It's their top priority and their identity and their macho and their Alpha-status and their power and, among the men, their money automatically confers upon them some complementary dick size. And they DO NOT like flushing it down the crapper. OR betting bigtime on a loser.

After all, how would it look?

And GE, and Monsanto, and - let's go down the list of the biggest defense contractors and members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Every nickel they hide or ship overseas or manipulate on their corporate tax returns - is money that could be used to help the poor, homeless, the elderly, students, the disabled, and homeowners who are underwater with their mortgages.

It probably hasn't occurred to her that the President of the United States is a public SERVANT. That's the term used. ALL government workers are public servants. And what they do for a living is called PUBLIC SERVICE. Her ladyship would probably gag if she ever tried to wrap her own little beautiful mind around that.

A brand new KKK!) or something? That there are racists there who use the N-word with no impunity? There should be a price to pay for that flagrant and disgusting behavior. Heaven forbid it starts costing them membership fees or something...
