And that's how we should refer to them.

They are domestic terrorists. They want total anarchy. And they're willing to go to disgusting and thoroughly antisocial (and certainly un-Christian) lengths to do it.

We spend so much time talking about bullying and how bad it is - at least in our schools, and against our kids. Why does that not apply to this as well?

Welcome to DU, inch4progress!

Glad you're here! Stunning, isn't it? I like MY solution the best. Round 'em all up and ship 'em to Somalia. All the anarchy and lawlessness and no-government and no-laws and no-regulations they can eat. Pirates and rapists running amok, a handful of super-rich warlords unrestrained, millions of homeless, sick, and starving you don't have to give a rat's ass about, and all the free-and-easy guns and ammo you can hoard! Sounds like their idea of Heaven-on-Earth, to me. They can even rename it Reagania if they like! Or maybe Cruzistan or something?

Nothing. Merely another attempt to put women back in their "place."

Frankly, I wish there would be a "No Nookie" backlash. Wonder how long these GOP schmucks (most of them men) would hold out if their wives and girlfriends said NO, and any attempts at hookers or other "outlets" also denied them sex? Actually, some of 'em are so far gone I wouldn't expect even that to carry any weight.

YES. Cards. Simple postcard-size cards. Again, no envelope, so there's nothing that looks

suspicious or threatening. All out there in the open.

It was a good strategy that originally came about immediately after the domestic terrorism

with the anthrax letters that were mailed to various government officials and newspeople, in the months after 9/11. Time was, back then, it was an exercise in futility to mail anything to your reps in Washington DC. It was all suspect. So that was an easy way to prove your letter was harmless and contained nothing suspicious or evil. Just fold it twice so it would fit in a standard business envelope, except you don't put it in an envelope. Just seal the folded paper with one staple or a little piece of tape in the middle - leaving both ends open.

Totally! It's a complete disgrace.

There's so much talk about bullying and how bad it is. How 'bout we look at where some of the REAL bullying is originating? From the gun goons - who think their "right" is somehow sacrosanct and trumps any other right claimed by anyone else.

My husband switched to a more veg-dominated diet, and his blood pressure is WAY down, consistently!

Works for me! And it got him off those damn casseroles and quickie runs to Jack-in-the-Crack. SOOOOO glad he's backed way off of red meat. It's been my hope for about 30 years now! He lost 50 pounds, too. And it hasn't hurt me either! I'm down at least 40 pounds now, although high blood pressure has never been an issue for me.

We actually went to a vegan restaurant recently, and he loved it! Quinoa pasta, and saitan for "meat". Totally acceptable and delicious, the texture was good, the flavor was wonderful! I'd have that stuff again. And best of all, so would he! Time was he wouldn't even have considered it. Now he talks about eating that way permanently, even after the weight-reduction program we're both on - ends. I couldn't be happier! And he's finding, he couldn't be healthier!

DAYUM!

What a FANTASTIC idea! I think I'll try that!

Maybe print it out on full-size pink paper and fold it in thirds to staple shut with a single staple. With the sides open and unsealed. Then you can see that it's clear there's nothing improper hidden in there. No envelope needed.

I beg your pardon, Mr. King...

"You can't always blame a person if his followers act in a terrible way," King said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."

??????????

OH YES YOU CAN!!!! Monkey see, monkey do. They're acting out because they see that fucker ted cruz acting out and being rewarded with attention, publicity, a monopolization of the airwaves, and lots of money flowing in from koch and company. If cruz were any sort of man, who truly and genuinely cared about America - and Americans in need, he would behave as an adult instead of a spoiled snot-nosed tantrum-throwing five-year-old, and turn to his followers and at least ask them flat-out to behave themselves - because they're making his whole movement (frankly, more like a bowel movement) look bad. And it's significant that he does nothing about that. Obviously, from his behavior, one can conclude that he approves of what they're doing. After all, he's doing nothing whatsoever to discourage it.

DEFINITELY! How could it not be viewed as a threat?

I know absolutely that if I saw somebody swaggering into a store wearing a gun in a holster, I would get the hell OUT OF THERE as soon as possible. That doesn't make me feel SAFE!!! Are you frickin' KIDDING ME?????? I want NO part of that! And I'd complain to the manager also. Probably after I'd left and made it safely home and out of range. Because the last thing I'd want to do is provoke some sort of confrontation with somebody like that. It would NOT end well. I would not trust any of these folks who got their dander up because they thought somebody was trying to "take their guns." I shudder to think how one of these hot-heads settles THAT one! If they're deliberately armed like that in public, face it: They're already looking for trouble, kinda like a bunch of unindicted Zimmermans or something. I would feel threatened without a doubt. I feel threatened by the very IDEA of seeing that in some store or restaurant where I'd be trying to shop or eat in peace.

It's not a gun so much as a chip on their shoulder - as though they're strutting around just HOPING something will go wrong so they can play Wyatt Earp or something and forcibly show you who's boss. Yeah, just what I want - to be present for a possible shootout! What do they want? The OK Corral? Seems to me someone like that is, pardon the pun, just gunning for something to happen so they can prove what tough stuff they are. And they're nothing but carnage waiting to happen (and I'd expect that one of the wounded will likely be them). It's ego and chip-on-shoulder. NONE of which results in anything good, in my experience.

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
