It's amazing how much of my job is just telling patients: "Yeah, this ain't gonna kill ya."

Nose, meet grindstone...

Clinical annoyance: Patients keeping their appointments with me in order to tell me that

they were dropped by their specialty care provider for missing appointments.

It's hard to know how to respond to that.

Especially when they were referred out because I couldn't do any more for them at the primary care level.

I had five patients today refuse the flu vaccine. I convinced them all to get it anyway.

Five for five, baby!

But, God, I hate what's going on...

My clinic manager just asked me which days I wanted off for the Christmas holiday.

I replied: "All of them."

It's so wonderful to be awake and not at work.

And I'm even sober. (For the moment...)
