Yes they do.

They can and do make their own reality as they go along. Facts and truth are only as good as they can be twisted and spun. Everything is delusion, unless it can be used to advantaged, then any fabrication is real.

By 'radical terrorists', you are talking about the United States, correct?

Never a peaceful solution, when a military one will do.
Where humanitarian aid is supplying both sides in a conflict? Where Al qaeda is on our side, or we're on their's or something? Where our government spy's on its own people and builds data bases on private individuals, like we are just another subversive enemy.
That radical terrorist?

You noticed that, huh?

That is because the Democratic party is far to the Right of where the Republican party was 40 years ago.
And many here would be Republicans now, except for the Right wing of the Democratic party or the Left wing of the Republican Party (same thing), being so far off kilter, to the Right, from the real reference point. You know, the DLC, New Democrats, and assorted and other wise, DINO's, claiming to be main stream Democrats.
Also, there are many here, who treat politics as a big league sports game, who only recognize good and bad ideas by the (D) or (R) by the players names and will defend bad ideas to the death, because of the (D) on their pedestaled icons.

Ya think?

If we do, they then have to replace all that expensive go boom thingies, they lob into Syria. Guess who pays?
And that kiddies, is why we can't have nice things like our Social Security COLA, or Universal Health Care.

I have a real problem following your illogical logic.

You think NSA spying is wrong.
You think Snowden is a traitor for exposing the extent of the NSA overreach .
You think Snowden's intent was to damage the Obama Administration.

Do you think that if Snowden had waited and done the same thing during a Republican Administration, then that would have been a good thing? Or not?
Do you think illegal and unconstitutional actions should go unreported because there is presently a Democratic President?
Do you think that if Snowden had done nothing, except his job, and let the illegal and unconstitutional hoovering of our communication data continue, everything would still be just fine?
Why, if the NSA spying is wrong now, should Snowden have waited till the possible Republican Administration to act? Would that be fine with you, if he would have?
What if there was no Snowden and "They" decided they had all they needed to lock down this country shortly after the next national election?
Aren't illegal and unconstitutional actions, illegal and unconstitutional actions, regardless of who is in power? You seem to be saying they are not. It depends on who is in the White House.

Me thinks you need to find a "Critical Thinking 101" class and take it.

Wrongs of this magnitude are wrong, no matter who is in charge. If Obama is letting this go, he needs to take his lumps, just the same as anyone else.

"You're talking about a party that supported Bush's illegal spying." Which became Obama's legal

spying.

We are our own worst enemies. We make our own enemies, as an excuse to fight unnecessary wars.
The War on Terrorism was a stroke of genius. The more we fight and kill the enemy, the more terrorists we make, that we have to fight and kill. A nice, neat, complete circle of violence and death, with a built in excuse to keep going because the job is never none. The war cannot be won... Ever.

Maybe if we called it Romney-care.

Reminded them that the idea came out of one of their own think tanks, The Heritage Center. That it was their own idea in the first place. That it was written with heavy input by the insurance companies themselves.

A better idea is what the rest of the world is doing: Single Payer, Universal Health Care. Get the private health insurance companies out of the parasitic business of being middlemen, skimming the cash flow and pricing health care out of reach for millions of Americans.

Because our government says it is legal, though operating almost in total secret, it is OK with you?

The world wide spying that is. Whatever they do with your information is fine with you? The current and past administrations love people like you, that allows them to do whatever they want, with impunity, because the government says it is OK?
Read the 4th Amendment. How does that read to you? I don't see anything there about "...if it so pleases the government".

Article IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

How does that jive with the wholesale hoovering and storing of everyone's personal communications?
Most of our "papers" now a days are in electronic form on our computers. Our computers are some of our personal effects.
Where is the probable cause for the wholesale hoovering of our private communications? Show me a warrant that has my name on it and the crimes I am suspected of. Where is/are the warrant with your name on it and the crimes you are suspected of committing?
You are not going to find any, because they don't exist. All you will find are secret, rubber stamped, blanket warrants, rubber stamped by secret courts, covering most any and everything.
How does all this blanket spying on us citizens jive with the Constitution and this being a supposed free country?
July 28, 2013

There are principles involved. Truth and facts.

When those principles are violated, when we are lied and spun too, when they violate their oath to uphold the Constitution, we all have a duty to call them on that.
Principles should be held to a higher level than any one person or assemblage. Our nation, our group, our party, right or wrong, doesn't cut it when our leaders are engaged in self-centered actions that hurt the rest of us.
