Remember how Trump wanted appointees who "looked like they came from Central Casting?

Well, today, if someone asked Central Casting to send them someone who "looks like a Republican", they'd send a Santos look-alike.

While I agree with the cable news "commentators" that the Biden "documents situation looks bad",

I must ask them:

How many times have you told your audience that TRUMP'S theft and defiant detention of hundreds of classified documents "looks bad"?

How many times in one broadcast hour have you said that McCarthy's spineless prostitution in order to get a swell office "looks bad?

When was it in the past seven years that you publicly admitted that Trump receiving over 1% of the vote in ANY election "looks bad"?

What motivates this sudden overwhelming concern about how things "look"?

As a grade-schooler back in the Fifties, I remember watching the scariest movie I had ever

seen, "Rodan", by looking through my winter coat sleeve from the first row in the theater

I was with 3 or 4 friends and we all decided that the giant prehistoric flying monster was just too terrible to take in if we looked at the entire beast, so we hid under our coats while holding our "sleeve tubes" up towards the screen. In this way, we voluntarily "censored" what we just did not want to confront.

Today, some of us have apparently decided to hide from most of the terrible real dangers we face: growing domestic fascism, global climate change, madmen with nukes,------------------.

I confess I still find myself "looking through my coat sleeve" at some issues. I wonder if, with instant worldwide communication about EVERY tragedy and human failure, we just are not wired to face it all? Are we just being overloaded with dire concerns?

Is limiting what we allow ourselves to be directly concerned about simply self-defense?

I doubt I will live long enough to see those questions answered. Just more rambling from an old guy.

It's totally inconsistent for the same people who rightly insist that "every vote counts" can,

often in the next breath, discourage and devalue minority opinions which differ from theirs.

"What's right is right when no one's doing it and what's wrong is wrong when everyone's doing it."

My understanding is that the "classified" documents which President Biden's aides found at his home

were memos brought to him when he was spending time at home while VP and were used to brief him without requiring him to travel back to D.C.

It is further my understanding that these memos are years old and did not contain any nuclear info or the location or identity of clandestine agents abroad.

If anyone has information which disagrees with this, I would appreciate being updated.

A question for the Republicans who are so offended by George Santos' several dozen lies

that they now indignantly and publicly demand his resignation: WHO IN HELL DID YOU VOTE FOR IN THE 2016 AND 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS?

WHO?

January 11, 2023

Like everyone who reads this, I have no information about what sort of "classified documents"

were found at President Biden's prior offices.

I have no idea who took them there or left them there.

But, I do know SOMETHING about this situation: I know Joe Biden. I know he is honest and decent and that he highly respects our laws and loves our nation.

I BELIEVE that this is not a situation of intentional theft or concealment or retention of the documents in question.

In short, this is not a "Trump-like" situation and Joe is certainly not a "Trump-like" man.

I've got his back.

After an investigation spanning two years and costing over $7,000,000, the MegaMAGA Institute

of Truthiness reluctantly conceded that the assumption underlying all that is MAGA has been scientifically disproved.

B. S. Daley, Director of the Institute ( no degree, but has done a lot of internet research ), said "The primary focus of our research was the 'Apple to Banana' Transition Demonstration. Over the course of 23 months, we paid operatives to repeatedly call apples bananas. We used a wide variety of people---men, women, children, elderly---all sizes, shapes and colors. We even had apples called bananas in 87 different languages and dialects.

Nothing worked. Not one apple transitioned into a banana or was even slightly altered in shape or color.

It is, therefore, our conclusion that simply SAYING something is so does nothing to prove it. Proof---what some have called 'evidence'---is essential."

Mr. Daley concluded by announcing that he has taken a position on Republican Congressman George Santos' staff as an advisor.

Educate me, please. I thought the various House committees were filled by Democrats

appointing their choices and Republicans appointing theirs. The majority party has a majority on nearly every committee and usually chairs each.

But,---I thought that absent a full House vote, no one could be "kicked off" a committee by the opposing party "Speaker".

How can McCarthy decide that Omar, Schiff, etc. can't serve?

Obviously, I don't understand what he's done.
