Our Christmas this year will be "merry", but it won't be "MERRY!" like all I have ever known.

We'll listen to our favorite Christmas tunes, nosh on some holiday treats and raise a glass to those we love. But, those we love will be "out of reach" less than a half hour's drive away.

While the covid pandemic hangs over these traditional days of love and joy and that frightens us, there is an even darker presence that seems to squirm into my mind each time I drop my guard for an instant and this angers me: my country, the United States of America, is currently in the clutches of a maniac; a man so obviously and profoundly mentally ill that most of the world is holding its breath with us as we wait to see what obscenity he launches next.

The pandemic is as bad as it is BECAUSE of Trump and his damn Republican enablers.

We have not hugged or kissed our children or grandchildren since March BECAUSE of Trump and his damn Republican enablers.

And, as this Christmas passes, winter deepens, and more hundreds of thousands of us die of this virus BECAUSE of Trump and his damn Republican enablers, I will have to deal with this lonely uncertainty: will those we now miss so badly, be here next Christmas? Will we?

I hope you are in better spirits than I am. It is doubtless a black mark on my soul that I find myself unable to have the traditional "good will toward" several men and women.

merry Christmas.

I thought members of Trump's new "Space Force" were to be called "space cadets"--- or has that

term already been associated too closely with White House staff and his advisors?

I know it's early, but I am considering a New Year's resolution; several actually.

I start by resolving to TRY to keep in mind that I have more in common with my least favorite DUers than with any Republican.

I resolve to remember that there are no 2020 Trump voters who I will ever trust.

I resolve to take advantage of any nonviolent opportunity to help end the career of any Congressional Republican who supported the transparently stupid Texas plea for the SCOTUS to anoint Trump our ruler.

I resolve that I will not let public displays of racism, misogyny, homophobia or just plain old garden-variety RWNJ cruelty go without condemning it and standing with the victims of it.

That is hardly the entire list of all my flaws and shortcomings that need correcting (can you say "covid pounds"?), but I will start with those efforts.

Curiouser an curiouser--------

Matt Gaetz---(GAG!----excuse me.)---is now "working at home" and selected---wait for it!---TULSI GABBARD to vote for him by proxy.

Informed that over a thousand Brazilians died of covid today, a puzzled Trump asked:

"So,----how many zeros are there in a 'brazillion' "?

Why do we have this double standard? Last evening, I listened to a calm reasoned evaluation

of the massive Russian hack of our government and business computer systems.

After explaining what had happened and how it could effect us, the commentator concluded with the common sense admonition that Russia would not stop this "unless we HURT them!"

Does anyone consider that unwarranted? Rash? Vindictive?

Are there any who would advise us to simply "put that in the rear view mirror", "look forward" and "move on"?

America has both "foreign AND domestic" enemies. Why treat them so differently?

Rachel was hotter than a two dollar pistol this evening when reporting how Pfizer HAS millions

of doses of covid vaccine "on the shelves" in their warehouse. They have delivered all that the Trump administration has told them to and they are "flabbergasted" that they have not been directed to ship all their inventory of vaccine. They have NO "production problems".

This as states are being told, without explanation, that they will receive 30 to 40 percent LESS vaccine than they were promised.

People are going to die because of this.

Several asses need to be placed in large slings ASAP!

Seriously? The people who now claim their panties are in a twist about the Biden campaign's WOMAN

manager using a vulgarity are the same folks who pack the rallies of the candidate who thinks "mother" is half a word?

This Jan O'Malley Dillon

Speaks with a candor that's thrillin'
Marco thought it uncouth
But 'twas simply the truth
And if he wants to rumble, Jen's willin'!

There once was a grifter named Trump

Quasimodo without the hump
He was lazy and crude
With a bad attitude
All in all, one "Yuge" clusterhump.
