Listen carefully. There's a lot of sloppy and inaccurate talking on TV right now.

As early as last evening, I heard people saying that Russia had "invaded" the Donbas region of Ukraine. Yet, there was NO EVIDENCE offered to show that a single soldier had crossed the border.

Putin had "given the order" and troops and trucks had "repositioned". And, that was described as an "invasion" which should trigger all of the "swift and severe sanctions" that President Biden promised will result.

This morning, there is discussion about "whether" there has been an actual movement across the border. And, again, it is "sorta/kinda" being implied that maybe the President is not imposing the sanctions he promised and "what message does this send to Putin" is being asked.

Listen. Carefully. Please.

I only see Maria Barf-Aroma on occasional CNN or MSNBC clips. Has she always

been so messed up or did four years of Trumpism send her 'round the bend?

As we step across the threshold into a new era in Europe and the world, could we just

"circle back" to something we all know but may have let slide away into the recesses of what passes for our minds?

Since as far back as 2013, Donald Trump has literally WORSHIPPED Vladimir Putin. I will not bother to list the dozens and dozens of examples of his fawning compliments, his disloyal favoritism or other fanboy behavior. If you're really interested and you have a few hours to waste, just Google "Trump about Putin".

Contrary to what the right-wing blogs would have you believe, it was Trump's unjustified arrogance, weakness and incredible stupidity while he did little but strut and bluster for four years that was Putin's green light. The MAGA politicians who imply or outright state that President Biden is responsible for Putin's war crimes are simply falling back on their old standby technique: projection.

Putin put Trump in the White House and then failed to get him reinstalled. What we are seeing now is Vlad's hope that his tool managed to so divide us in his one term that his "Hail Mary" will succeed in Ukraine.

If he has not already accomplished it with his covid non-response, the invasion of Ukraine may make Trump responsible for more unnecessary deaths than any prior "president " in our history.

Never forget: Trump was "Putin's Poodle" for four years. Vlad is now finding out that Biden won't wear his collar.

Are those who invested heavily in cryptocurrencies permitted to leave their homes

without "minders"?

They're surely not allowed to drive a motor vehicle or operate dangerous machinery, right?

February 21, 2022

President Biden reacted promptly to Putin's "creation" of Godetsk and Luhansk. Has Republican

criticism begun yet?

Will Hannity or Carlson actually give Putin a microphone tonight or just explain how reasonable and justified his de facto annexation of the Donbas region is?

February 21, 2022

Can someone explain to me---in a way that makes sense---how Putin's announcement that

HE HAS CREATED AND RECOGNIZES TWO NEW COUNTRIES, Donetsk and Luhansk, is not just the first of a foreseeable series of "takeovers" that must collide with NATO?

Will his stooges in these two "new countries" not soon "invite" Russian forces across the border to "defend" their ethnic Russians against Ukrainian "genocide"?

If the Ukrainian border is not our "line in the sand", what is?

Do we really believe that any sanctions we impose will deter further invasions?

I believe we are at the point where there simply are no good choices as to how to proceed. We either concede Ukraine to Trump's pal or we act militarily to defend the embattled nation.

Or, maybe we could just pretend there's a middle ground that won't encourage both Russia and China to "reclaim" nations they want to occupy.

Nixon---Reagan---W. Bush---and now, Trump.

Each of these men was a liar and a criminal who considered democracy an unnecessary hindrance often their "imperial" right to rule us as they saw fit.

How many of these arrogant Republican thugs are we going to let go virtually unpunished for their malfeasance?

How many times will we be cowed by those who admonish us to "be the adults" and "move on---for the good of the country"?

How many more times will we attempt to "reach out to" and "work with" smirking sociopathic politicos who would be expelled from any other profession and who we would not trust to dog sit for us?

If Trump goes unpunished we will not deserve to call ourselves a democracy, the high-sounding words writ in stone above the entrance to the Supreme Court should be chiselled away and that "Lady With the Lamp" should be sold for scrap.

"But, --- NOTHING!"

"Yes, of course, climate change is real and is even worse than predicted and there are steps we could take to combat it, BUT---"

"Our nation, the wealthiest in the history of the world, has more than enough money to provide decent food, shelter, education and medical care to all of its citizens, BUT---"

"Obviously, permitting billionaires and mega-corporations to pay less in taxes than teachers, firemen, farmers, secretaries and grill cooks is obscene, BUT---"

"Attempts to disregard the voices of the people and overturn an election are a form of domestic terrorism and should be aggressively and swiftly prosecuted as the equivalent of treason, BUT,---"

There is more disgust and angst following each of those "BUT"s than I could possibly describe, so I did not try. Read the three dashes (---) as you believe appropriate.

"Impunity"---a term to consider.

It is defined by the United Nations as:

"the impossibility, de jure or de facto, of bringing the perpetrators of violations to account----whether in criminal, civil, administrative, or disciplinary proceedings----since they are not subject to any inquiry that might lead to their being accused, arrested, tried and, if found guilty, sentenced to appropriate penalties, and to making reparations to their victims."

As some might say: "There's a lot of that goin' around"!

Boy oh boy! I sure hope those Missouri Republicans don't pick Greitens to run for Senate!

( wink! )

There's no way in the world any Democrat would beat a strong Trump-supporter like him! ( wink, wink! )

If any Missourians planning to vote in the primary are reading this, WHATEVER YOU DO---do NOT select that Greitens guy! ( wink. wink, wink! )
