Atticus
Atticus's JournalA rather plain looking poorly educated woman---let's call her Marjorie---sat in an ER where she
had gone after having sharp chest pains. After a thorough exam, the doctor looked at her EKG and, in an effort to ease her mind, smiled as he said "You just have acute angina".
The woman's face brightened instantly as she cooed "THANK you, doctor!", straightened her skirt and crossed her legs.
I don't think this can be said too often: we waste our time whenever we try to
"make sense" of anything Trump says.
He has the intelligence of a house plant, the vocabulary of a 5 year old and the attention span of a gnat.
When I heard that the Russian skater had been okayed to compete by a discredited "kangaroo" court,
my first thought was "I wonder how Kavanaugh voted".
TRUMPIES: read--this--re-e-al--slowly-------
*people are people
*facts are facts
*therefore-----history---is---history.
To those flying those "FUCK BIDEN!" flags: I totally understand.
After all, just consider this past year:
---he moved quickly to get over 200 million of us vaccinated against covid
---he restored decency and civility in the White House
---our allies are neither repulsed or amused by him. They respect him
---he and his wife appear to genuinely love each other. Jill has never refused to hold Joe's hand
---there are no nude photos of this First Lady on the internet
--- more jobs were created in his first year in office than in any other president's first year
---somehow, he has permitted working people to effectively double the hourly rate for new hires in the service industry
---there are no "love letters" from "Rocket Man" and none of the lipstick on Putin's butt is Joe's shade
---he has not routinely lied to the American people
I could go on, but that's enough to show you that I really do understand: Joe Biden has never been, is not now and never will be "your kinda guy".
The rest of us are unbelievably grateful for that.
Thank you to all the kind folks who gave me hearts. nt
If you think about it, no one can REALLY know what someone else "intended". When intent is an
element which must be proven in a courtroom, the "proof" is always the result of drawing conclusions based upon circumstantial evidence.
If someone threatens to do a deed, tells others he will do it, has the means and ability to do it, HAS DONE SIMILAR DEEDS NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE and is seen doing the deed later, we conclude or presume "intent". It is not "proven" in the normal sense, but one would have to be a fool to assume his action "accidental".
We have all heard of false confessions, so even when someone confesses to an intentional crime, they may be lying. "Proof of intent" is always shown by evidence which makes any other conclusion unlikely.
I mention all the above because we are now hearing commentators wonder aloud if maybe Trump did not "intend" to eat documents, tear them into confetti, flush them down his toilet AND take AT LEAST 15 boxes of documents---some stamped "Classified" or "Top Secret"---out of the White House to his private suite at Mar-A-Lago.
Do we REALLY need to discuss this?
Can we all just laugh out loud as we hoot "Give us an effin' break!"?
Have we been so concerned with protecting against the "tyranny of the majority" that we have
empowered a "tyranny of the MINORITY"?
Looking at Hawley, Paul, Cruz, McConnell-------
Another 5-7-5---------
One has to wonder
If they're still relevant or
Just waiting to die.
"It has to be decided whether it is POLITICALLY PRACTICAL to charge a former president with crimes"
THAT---which is an accurate paraphrase of what I just heard on the TV machine---is not a factor that should EVER be considered in deciding what to do about insurrection, sedition, obstruction of justice----and the list goes on.
I still have the expectation that it will not be.
