I can certainly understand wishing that we had already watched an orange-clad Trump

dragged kicking and screaming from a courtroom after his conviction for his multiple crimes. What I cannot understand is those who are so proud of their cynicism that they repeatedly state as a fact that "Trump will never pay any price. He never has and he never will!"

In order to believe that, you almost have to believe that AG Garland is some sort of Trumpian "Manchurian Candidate"; an agent of the "Dark Side" whose purpose is to aid Trump's escape from justice.

Barrack Obama nominated this man to sit on the SCOTUS. Trump's party denied him that seat.

This man quietly but effectively prosecuted the domestic terrorist responsible for the tragic Oklahoma City bombing.

Joe Biden appointed this man to be our AG. He is currently supervising the prosecution of an unprecedented volume of Capitol invaders and seditionists while following the tried and true "climb the ladder to the top" method of investigating large criminal enterprises.

Last night we heard Thompson and Cheney both repeatedly say that Trump was knowingly involved with the planning and executing a plan to overthrow the US government. I don't believe they would say what they said if they did not "have the receipts".

Does none of this mean anything?

Did Barrack and Joe foolishly appoint a "secret Republican operative?"

I don't KNOW what is happening at the DOJ. No one on the outside does. But, from where I sit, there is no real reason to assume the AG will "let Trump get away with it" and plenty of reasons to trust Merrick Garland to honor his oath and do his job---as he has always done.

As we count down these last 90 minutes before the first public presentation by the

bipartisan January 6th Committee, I wonder if the Trumpian responders have not already written 90% of their remarks about the Committee's revelations.

I wonder if the words "illegitimate", "unconstitutional" and "political witch hunt" might be used by the "fair and balanced" folks when they tell their audience about the presentation they refused to broadcast.

I wonder if Don's Dead-enders will refer to the spittle-flecked thugs who smeared their own feces on Capitol walls as "tourists" and "patriots".

I wonder if McCarthy will be even slightly embarrassed about his remarks during and just after the invasion of the Capitol and the violent assaults on the law enforcement officers protecting him and the rest of Congress.

Nah, I am not really wondering about any of those things. Sadly, like you, I already know how the Trumpians will react.

Trump and Co. as they try to downplay the January 6th insurrection and the videos that the

Committee will play during tomorrow's televised hearing: "Who you gonna believe? Us or your lyin' eyes?"

There are more millions of us than there are millions of them.

We basically want to be left alone to live our lives, raise our children and pursue happiness in our own way.

We do not want to be told who to love or which religious faith---if any---we should profess.

We understand that "AR 15s are sporting rifles" is a damned lie and that some among us truly believe that "might makes right".

We are willing to tolerate those who look, dress or worship differently than us as long as they do not seek to impose their differences on us.

We are willing to pay our taxes and make sacrifices for the good of our nation, but we want those burdens shared fairly with even the most wealthy and privileged among us.

We are neither extremely liberal nor extremely conservative, though that does not mean we are "moderates" or "centrists"..

We believe in honesty, responsibility, social justice---and love.

There are more of us than there are of them---and we should insist that OUR views be respected.

If you have room for a little more disgust:

President Biden has made free covid vaccinations and tests readily available to all Americans; has presided over the most robust economic recovery in US history; has made diversity a reality in his cabinet, judicial and other administrative appointments; favors a woman's right to choose, unions, stricter gun laws and a shift away from fossil fuels; has quietly but effectively led the West's assistance to Ukraine; has restored honor and decency to the White House and regained the respect of our allies AND adversaries-----and yet-------------

---some Democrats "aren't enthused" about voting in the midterms because they haven't gotten their pony yet!

June 6, 2022

This will likely piss off a lot of people. Democrats should tell the likes of Cornyn to kiss

our ass when he graciously offer to "search for common ground" regarding gun legislation.

What has he offered? Well, he's willing to begin to commence to consider maybe starting to talk about the possibilty of studying 2% of what our president proposed.

Let's have a vote on legislation which reasonably addresses the epidemic of mass shootings, not some fake Republican "promise" to "do something some day" "when the time is right".

When only one party has concrete proposals to address a problem, that is not a "bipartisan discussion"; that is stalling in hope that people will forget about the problem.

We are hearing many proposed explanations for how and why 19 fourth graders and two

of their teachers were shot to pieces in their Uvalde, Texas elementary school classroom.

"Maybe the school had inadequate doors."

What about an 18 year old being able to legally buy two AR 15s plus hundreds of rounds of deadly ammunition in 30-round magazines?

"Maybe the shooter needed mental health counselling."

What about the 18 year old with the military weapon?

"Maybe the cops were incompetent cowards."

What about the assault weapon with high-capacity clips?

"Maybe the teachers should have been armed."

What about this murderer legally purchasing the "weapon of choice" for nearly all mass shooters in our nation as soon as he turned 18?

"Maybe there was no 'good guy with a gun' in the area."

WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THIS KID WAS ABLE TO "LEGALLY" BUY A GODDAM HIGH-POWERED RIFLE SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO KILL PEOPLE AS QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY AS POSSIBLE, for cryin' out loud!?!?!?

June 3, 2022

You could refer to a 70 mph head-on collision with an 18 wheeler as a "fender bender", but

people would say you're ridiculous.

You could call your house burning to the ground a "house warming party", but then people would question your sanity.

You could insist that your AR 15 with a 30 round magazine, laser sight and flash suppressor is a "deer rifle", but that would brand you a liar.

BUT,---if you call what happened at the US Capitol a "peaceful protest by patriots simply exercising their Constitutional right to freedom of speech", well---that just makes you a craven fascist Trumpie.
