What McConnell is planning is not a "hearing".

A "hearing" is "a proceeding of relative formality at which evidence and arguments may be presented on the matter at issue to be decided by a person or body having decision-making authority".

There is, you see, no issue "to be" decided; the decision has already been made. McConnell and the rest of the zombie senators see it as their "duty" to confirm WHOEVER the idiotic brat in the Oval Office decides to nominate. "Who" doesn't matter. Experience, intelligence, qualifications---none of these matter.

Whoever. Whatever.

We are just one tiny baby step away from "Why waste time with a 'hearing'? We don't need no stinkin' hearing. Whoever Dear Leader chooses will be great!"

So, Mitch is concerned that Democrats might resort to "dirty tricks" to resist his effort to

confirm whichever she-nazi Trump nominates. Stop and think about that for a few seconds.

Mitch McConnell, the most dishonest, hypocritical, amoral thug ever to preside over the US Senate is complaining that the Democrats might take actions to stop the confirmation by playing smash mouth politics? Really?

This shameless whore---and his fellow Trump groupies---will say up is down, ice is hot or Trump is a great leader if that will satisfy the handful of billionaires who finance their continuing accumulation of power and wealth and wink at racism in exchange for lower taxes and deregulation. These snarling punks make up rules to "justify" their outrageous actions and then invent previously unmentioned conditions or exceptions when Democrats try to use the new rule.

My advice to the Democrats? "Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" (wink!)

To Mitch and the other GOP whores now solemnly praising RBG and lamenting her death:

DON'T do that with the same mouth you've been fellating Trump with for four years!

To those who are counseling that the "Trump judges" were properly nominated and confirmed

and there is "nothing we can do about it" I say "There damn well BETTER be 'something' we can do because their sheer incompetence and fascistic attitudes WILL destroy the America we know and love"!

Take a look at his judicial appointments at https://www.ratfuckingthecourts.com/ and you will easily see that they fall into two categories: totally incompetent and inexperienced attorneys appointed solely because they had kissed Trump's ass OR competent ideologues whose life mission includes reversing Roe v. Wade, invalidating the ACA and putting women, people of color and non-Christians "in their place".

Serial impeachments? Lawsuits requesting annulment of their appointments due to the illegitimacy of Trump or the transparent malfeasance of McConnell et al? I do not profess to know HOW these judicial embarrassments must be removed, but I do know that they must be if we are to regain our democracy and our decency.

Is it not now abundantly clear that when Hillary Clinton ONLY called Trump supporters "Deplorables"

she was, in fact, exercising amazing restraint?

"Evil racist self-centered hypocrites" is how I would BEGIN to try to communicate their true nature.

I think I have a way to get rid of Trump.

We just need a disgusted insider to slip a pair of "Odor Eater" insoles into his lift shoes. Three maybe four steps and he'll just "go away like magic"!

I have not spent a lot of time researching the Green Party, but my overwhelming impression

is that they promote anarchy and any extremist who is a "friend-of-Vlad". The only real impact they have on politics is that they often help elect Republicans.

Their attitude seems to be " If you are as smart as we are, you'll believe what we believe---as soon as we figure out just what that is."

Am I wrong about them?

September 19, 2020

A question that perhaps we should all be asking ourselves: "What am I doing to elect the entire

Democratic ticket BESIDES posting on DU and other progressive sites?"

I do not ask that anyone list their contributions or volunteer hours. I'm just suggesting that we each privately assess our own efforts.

I can and will do more.

Here is a particularly bitter irony: Donald Trump, who lost the popular vote in 2016 by nearly

3 million, is about to nominate an extreme right wing conservative to the SCOTUS and we are fearful that that nominee will be confirmed by the Senate Republican majority which received 12 million fewer votes than the Democratic minority.

And, we in the majority will be expected to quietly accept the transparent injustice and hope that maybe somehow "democracy" will one day again mean "rule by the majority".

Is the death of RBG a tragedy? Absolutely.

Is the prospect of Trump and McConnell rushing through another uber-conservative Trump disciple to replace her horrifying? Yes.

Will any effort to prevent Trump's nominee from being confirmed involve a herculean straight uphill battle that will make the Kavanaugh proceedings seem civil and restrained? Without any doubt.

But, -------could we please stop the gnashing of teeth and rending of garments which implicitly CONCEDE this SCOTUS seat to the grinning nazis who began high-fiving each other as soon as RBG's death was announced? Nothing is "lost" until we lay down and stop fighting and I will be DAMNED if I will do that!

Do i have a "grand plan" guaranteed to prevent another "Trump Justice"? Of course not, but I believe we have some very capable people in Congress and I am positive that they will leave no stone unturned in their constant effort to postpone the confirmation until a new Congress is seated and a new POTUS sits in the Oval office.

I intend to support my party and its leaders in any way I am able and I REFUSE to listen to any of this "We are screwed! It's OVER!" bullshit!

We are right. We deserve to win. Let's get off our asses and get out our checkbooks and make it happen.
