The Year

The Year
by Ella Wheeler Wilcox

What can be said in New Year rhymes,
That's not been said a thousand times?

The new years come, the old years go,
We know we dream, we dream we know.

We rise up laughing with the light,
We lie down weeping with the night.

We hug the world until it stings,
We curse it then and sigh for wings.

We live, we love, we woo, we wed,
We wreathe our brides, we sheet our dead.

We laugh, we weep, we hope, we fear,
And that's the burden of the year.

A healthy, happy, and prosperous one to all.

Social Security Question: With his work hours seesawing wildly enough that

that we have little economic stability (my job is only for nine and a half months a year), my husband has decided to start collecting social Security even though he is not retiring. He will continue working for ten years more or as long as he is able to, which ever comes first.

Question: As he is continuing to work, he is continuing to contribute to Social Security via deductions from his paycheck. Will those continued deductions show up in his social security payments as the years go by, or will he see no benefit from those payments to the SS fund?
