NOT Florida: Woman Hid Stolen $5000 In Her Rectum

AUGUST 30--A Tennessee woman is hospitalized and facing a criminal charge for allegedly stealing $5000 from her boyfriend, cash she hid in her rectum and unsuccessfully sought to retrieve with a toilet brush and tongs when confronted by the theft victim, police report.

Christie Black, 43, swiped the money at the residence she shared with Bobby Gulley, according to a Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office report.

Gulley told deputies early Tuesday that the cash--in $100 denominations--had been in two envelopes inside a medicine bag that he placed atop a foosball table. Gulley further explained he did this to “set a trap” for Black, whom he suspected had been stealing from him.

After later discovering the cash missing, Gulley, 46, called cops. He also confronted Black, who reportedly “admitted to him she’d wrapped it up and stuck it in her rectum,” investigators noted. She also became ill and “threw up a Saran wrapped baggy of partially dissolved pills.”

The Best Map Ever Made of America’s Racial Segregation

Last year, a pair of researchers from Duke University published a report with a bold title: “The End of the Segregated Century.” U.S. cities, the authors concluded, were less segregated in 2012 than they had been at any point since 1910. But less segregated does not necessarily mean integrated–something this incredible map makes clear in vivd color.

The map, created by Dustin Cable at University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, is stunningly comprehensive. Drawing on data from the 2010 U.S. Census, it shows one dot per person, color-coded by race. That’s 308,745,538 dots in all–around 7 GB of visual data. It isn’t the first map to show the country’s ethnic distribution, nor is it the first to show every single citizen, but it is the first to do both, making it the most comprehensive map of race in America ever created.

White people are shown with blue dots; African-Americans with green; Asians with red; and Latinos with orange, with all other race categories from the Census represented by brown. Since the dots are smaller than pixels at most zoom levels, Cable assigned shades of color based on the multiple dots therein. From a distance, for example, certain neighborhoods will look purple, but zooming-in reveals a finer-grained breakdown of red and blue–or, really, black and white.

America as we used to know it is officially DEAD

Father kicked out of Cardinals game for having son hold his beer

There's an old joke about the last words of a redneck: "Hold my beer and watch this." While such beer-holding moments often lead to mayhem and the occasional grievous bodily injury, in many cases they're simply just matters of common courtesy ... until the cops get involved, that is.

Arizona Cardinals season-ticket holder John Coulter was at Saturday's game, and as one does, wanted to get a picture. Also as one does, he was holding a beer at the time. So he handed his beer to his 15-year-old son for temporary safekeeping. And shortly afterward, he received a visit from some undercover stadium police, who informed him that he had been serving alcohol to a minor and would be immediately escorted from the stadium and handed a citation for trespassing.

"I thought it was a candid camera joke, I really did,” Coulter told USA TODAY Sports. “We just watched the opening kickoff and I wanted to take a quick picture. I literally handed my son my cup and said hold my cup, I reached into my pocket, grabbed my cell phone, put it on camera mode and took a picture.”

"Providing alcohol to an underage person or an underage person in possession of alcohol is a Class 1 misdemeanor," Sgt. Wesley Kuhl of the Arizona Department of Liquor License and Control told USA Today. "The consequences could be up to, and this is a maximum, of two years in jail, $2,500 fine and three years probation."

Volkan the Intruder: Man in Underpants Partied in Merkel's Jet

German prosecutors are probing how a man was able to board an empty government jet used by Chancellor Angela Merkel. Wearing only underpants and high on drugs, he danced on a wing, sprayed foam around and pushed cockpit buttons.

In the annals of Germany's security services, the following event won't be recorded as their finest hour.

ANZEIGE
On the night of July 25, a 24-year-old man clutching a bag full of marijuana and ecstasy pills managed with relative ease to get on board an empty government jet used frequently by Chancellor Angela Merkel, while it was parked at a closed military section of the Cologne airport.

The man, a bodybuilder of Turkish descent named as Volkan T., proceeded to stage a raucous, one-man party. Reports said he stripped down to his underpants, sprayed fire extinguisher foam around the elegant cream and beige interior, pushed buttons in the cockpit, released an inflatable emergency slide and danced on the wing of the Airbus 319.

The plane, which is also used by other top state officials including President Joachim Gauck, was delivered three years ago and is one of two medium range A319 jets in the government fleet. It has a private office, a conference room that seats 12 and a main cabin with room for 32.

Syria conflict: 'Chemical attacks kill hundreds'

Source: BBC

Chemical weapons attacks have killed hundreds on the outskirts of Damascus, Syrian opposition activists say.

Rockets with toxic agents were launched at the suburbs of the Ghouta region early on Wednesday as part of a major bombardment on rebel forces, they say.

The Syrian army says the accusations have been fabricated to cover up rebel losses.

The main opposition alliance said that more than 1,000 people were killed by the attacks.

Activist networks also reported death tolls in the hundreds, but these could not be independently confirmed.

It is also not clear how many died in the bombardment of the sites and how many deaths were due to any exposure to toxic substances.

Video footage showed dozens of bodies with no visible signs of injuries, including small children, laid out on the floor of a clinic.

My three biggest unanswered questions about the NSA discussion:

(sorry for making a new thread)

1. How deep is the involvement of corporate America in this whole scheme? Because let's be honest; they've wanted to stockpile our personal info as much as the NSA, if not more (obviously for different reasons, though)...Does it not make sense that two immensely powerful stakeholders would cooperate when they both want the same thing??

2. Is there any possible scenario where Americans would settle for a "reformed" NSA/DHS instead of outright elimination? I personally wouldn't; but if you're happy to live with a reformed model, what are the most pressing changes you'd want to see?

3. How much action will Congress really take on this? One of the lesser-talked-about parts is just how many people the NSA/DHS employ with that blank check from the Pentagon, along with the legions of contractors, logistics, support services, etc...Almost every congressional district in every state has had their hands out since 9/11, and for all the outrage and big talk, I've *never* known a congresscritter to willingly get off the gravy train...

If Miranda plays Battlefield 3, then send him to Gitmo FOREVER

1. Brazilians (and Saudis) are the universal scourge on the BF3 community for their general lack of team play

2. Brazilians only whore the easymode weapons like the M16A3, M4A1, UMP-45 and AEK-971

3. Brazilians lag out the servers of freedom-loving, patriotic, hardworking American gamers like myself, making my hit detection suck and diminishing my enjoyment of the game...
