Just heard Gillibrand on the radio talking family leave. She...

speaks well of it and is armed with all the numbers.

The problem l have is that she speaks from our side and doesn't thoroughly destroy the other. I know its difficult in 10 minutes to do any more than just make your case, but Manchin has yet to explain why we are so low on the list.

We're just around Pago Pago in parental leave and light years from Denmark.

Reason #346 why I hate politcs (and not a word about Sinema)...

As everyone but two illiterate residents of Mars knows, our Governor Cuomo got drummed out office for feeling up interns.

No argument there, but the good news is that it gave Governor Hochul a chance to shine. Most of us here downstate had little idea of that light under the Cuomo bushel. She, being human, has made mistake or two, but has been one our better Guvs.

So now comes Letitia on her golden chariot looking to grab the fleece of Albany. No problem with her as AG, and she has tormented the slovenly ex Prez, but why take two women of proven worth and throw them against each other-- winner take all? And at what price?

25,000 bucks for a "pre-candidate" dinner? Every labor leader in the state invited to invest member dues money in a lottery?

Of course, they aren't the only ones, but we now look forward to a season of bloodletting before the gory winner with her last breath faces my present Congressman on the altar of power.

And, btw, I thought we had a really good chance to get that seat back with a savvy local legislator. But now another savvy local legislator has raised her curly head in challenge.

Primary wars are killers. Did Lincoln or FDR have to suffer them?

I downloaded a copy of "It Can't Happen Here" and am...

about a quarter way throuvh it so far.

Read it many years ago and it is every bit as relevant now as it was back then.

Maybe even more so.

Another truck to drool over if you're into drooling over trucks...

and maybe even if you're not...

This one is all-electric and does everything, but starts at 70K and goes way up from there.

Truth is, I've always had a sweet spot for vans, and owned five of them over the years. So I'm really waiting for this...

I never had any interest at all in pickup trucks until yesterday when...

I found out about the new Maverick.

Ford has what might be a winner here. A hybrid truck that seats 5, starts in the low 20s, can take 4x8 plywood flat in the bed, tows a ton, and gets 40mpg.

I have a huge black walnut tree outside, and it's dropping these greencue ball sized...

fruits all over the place.

Anyone here ever gone through the drama of getting those meats out and cooking them?
