I'm just done. I'm so depressed by the rising fascism. How can
we fight it? The courts aren't going to help us. I fear the election process is so contaminated that even if we have millions more vote for Democrats, we will lose due to meddling with the count. The military won't protect us.
I just want to go somewhere else to live. Want to take my son and granddaughter and leave.
Today hasn't been a happy day for me. My anger has turned to rage at
this administration. Personally, I was forced to give up on attending my granddaughter's belated birthday party because her mother wouldn't allow me to take her to it.
So I told her mother off for messing up plans for the thousandth time and that I would not drive the 100 miles to get her next weekend.
Then I called my Republican Senator's office (Boozman) and for the first time tried to speak clearly. Told the lady that this immigration/gawd-awful detention shit had driven me to my limit. That we had an insane fascist/racist man in the WH and that I demanded Boozman do something. Suggested using the 25th. Amendment to remove him or impeach the sucker. My language was not good. She was horrified by my saying fascist and that my uncles had died 60 years ago fighting the same mentally damaged type as our 45th. She just said she'd "pass my comments on". I bet.
John Roberts on the company behind the detention centers and their
profits made tax exempt. This may have been posted before.

Last year, Core Civic made about $180 million dollars, and paid out 90% of that as dividends to its investors. The company is classified by the IRS as a Real Estate Investment Trust, which means it doesn't pay federal income tax on most of its earnings, nor do its investors. 2/12

"Is curing patients a sustainable business model?" Goldman Sachs analysts ask
https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2018/04/curing-disease-not-a-sustainable-business-model-goldman-sachs-analysts-say/?amp=1&__twitter_impression=trueOne-shot cures for diseases are not great for businessmore specifically, theyre bad for longterm profitsGoldman Sachs analysts noted in an April 10 report for biotech clients, first reported by CNBC.
The potential to deliver one shot cures is one of the most attractive aspects of gene therapy, genetically engineered cell therapy, and gene editing. However, such treatments offer a very different outlook with regard to recurring revenue versus chronic therapies... While this proposition carries tremendous value for patients and society, it could represent a challenge for genome medicine developers looking for sustained cash flow.
