Kamala Harris stuns as she takes the stage at the Democratic National Convention.
The DNC erupted in thunderous applause when the woman of the hour - Kamala Harris - stepped on stage.
But rather than speak of her campaign, Harris began by thanking Joe Biden for his "wonderful service to our nation".
"I see people from every corner of our country and every walk of life our here, united by our shared vision," she said.
"We will declare as one people, with one voice: we are moving forward," she adds - a message that clearly resonated with the crowd.
People are on their feet, chanting "when we fight, we win" and waving banners.

JD Vance looks absolutely horrified by the sight of cheese whiz
...not a joke.
Lol. Vance was making a careful inquiry, asking the clerk like, 'Swiss cheese (which I want instead) would be gross, right? You don't do that huh?'
Whiz kid?

A video from WUSA9 revealed that Vance told the men at the window that he personally hates Swiss and that it's "a thing" not to order it that way. He wanted to know why.

Senator Joe Biden with his wife, Jill, and children, from left, Robert Hunter, Joseph III, and Ashley, after declaring his candidacy for president in Wilmingon, Del., in 1987...Keith Meyers/The New York Times
Joe Biden was the first senator to endorse Jimmy Carter's presidential bid in 1976
... he was the chairman of Jimmy Carters campaign steering committee, and his convention floor manager in 1976.
...by 1976, as a senator, hed been elevated to floor manager and surrogate for Jimmy Carter, whom hed been quick to endorse. His role expanded four years later, allocated an early-in-the-evening speaking slot.
The national media paid his speech little mind. But delegates from his home state were impressed. They held up a sign reading Biden in 84, encouraging him to run for the White House.
If I wanted it, I think I could take it, he told the Wilmington Morning News.
But he didnt want it, he insisted, and would attend the 1984 convention not as a nominee but simply as a participant.

Fmr. GOP Rep. Barbara Comstock: I will be voting for Vice President Harris. I'm a grandmother to four granddaughters. The Republican ticket is the most misogynist ticket we've ever had. It's not something my party should accept. Its time to turn the page

GOVERNOR Tim Walz just showed up to the Black Caucus Meeting!!!!!!
The one thing you can always count on a lot of times in history, you can count on the sun rising in the east and setting in the west, and you can count on white politicians coming to Black communities to ask for their vote, the Minnesota governor told a rowdy crowd that remained on its feet throughout his brief remarks.
Whats different this time, Walz continued, is, we have a Black woman gonna lead us.
Look, we understand something that we grew up hearing about: towards a more perfect union, strong and decent nations acknowledge their past: the good, the bad and the ugly that goes with it. We acknowledge it because it lets us chart a course for the future. Those guys are taking us back, he said, referring to Republicans aligned with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. Were not going back.
Walz said: Were going forward in a country where everybody matters, everybodys got a chance. Everybody can see generational wealth, everybody can get access to capital to start their small business and a recognition that the systemic and historic barriers that were put in place in front of Black communities have stopped that movement.
And he responded to the Trump teams apparent disdain for the joy Harris has brought to her campaign: They can say whatever they want; you know the only time they laugh is at someone less fortunate than them. They see our most vulnerable citizens as scapegoats and punchlines for their jokes. We see them as neighbors and people who deserve to have respect.
