About Me

If I don't respond to your post I may have you on ignore, or simply be ignoring you.

Journal Archives

I joined at the height of the pre primary season for 2004..

That was every bit as bad as I can ever remember this site being.

I got accused of being a Republican, loving GWB, and being part of some sort of organized invasion of the site, operating under military type discipline, because of the candidate I supported.

2008 was the last season that I ever really participated in candidate discussions. Just too toxic

I don't think this place was ever the paradise that people imagine, though it was much better in early 2003 when I first started lurking. At least everyone was pretty much united in opposing the imminent invasion of Iraq.

I missed the first couple years of this place. Maybe that's when paradise existed here.

Randy Rainbow going on tour in fall. Tickets on presale right now.

This is not spam, just information, so please don't alert.

We just got ours for the nearest performance, a 4 hour drive from here. Was already practically sold out, but I think that's mostly because it had been scheduled and then canceled in spring of last year.

I will continue at least until the viral spread around here

is close to nonexistent.

I'm also going to watch to see if there's an increase in rates of infections among the vaccinated. The fact that people who are more likely to get vaccinated are also more likely to comply with mask mandates could have some sort of impact on numbers.

I'm sure that we will continue to get lots of interesting data.

Question: If I got my 2nd shot yesterday, does that mean that I got in under the wire

for getting fully vaccinated within Biden's first 100 days?

Randy Rainbow cleans up from quarantine!

In Memoriam: "Rush Limbaugh Eats Everything".

Found a link to this ancient comic series. Read and enjoy, if it's your kind of thing.

Keith Olbermann

It's a lie that they weren't expecting violence. An NYT article from the day before.

Pro-Trump Protesters to Gather Amid Fears of Violence

Organizers were preparing for an expected crowd of 5,000 on Tuesday and more than 30,000 throughout the week, according to permits issued by the National Park Service. Local government officials warned that the events could turn tumultuous. Mayor Muriel Bowser of Washington requested assistance from the Army National Guard on Monday, and the local police warned that anyone who intended to arrive in Washington with a firearm, as some on social media sites promised to do, would be arrested.

Many of the hundreds of demonstrators who showed up on Tuesday for the “March to Save America” and “Stop the Steal” rallies chose not to wear masks to prevent transmission of the coronavirus. Some of the speakers during the rally at the Freedom Plaza delivered aggressive speeches claiming the groups were “at war,” targeting Republicans in Congress who have refused to protest the results of the election.
Marc Elrich, the executive of neighboring Montgomery County, Md., said that the demonstrations could turn violent with some of Mr. Trump’s supporters looking to disrupt the vote count. “Protest organizations and the groups they represent have shown an alarming affinity for violence. Sadly, they have not been shy about suggesting the need for violence,” Mr. Elrich said in a statement. “There is talk of disrupting the counting of votes in Congress, which would require extreme actions.”

I know we all know it's a lie. I just wanted a piece of solid evidence to show that I wasn't crazy remembering all the talk going on prior to the events.

LOL! Randy Rainbow.

Republican Hypocrisy: PoliticsGirl (a great rant).
