Great job DU ... edited to include link

I got a post hidden because another poster attacked me! I alerted on her attack and heard nothing one way or another but she gets mine hidden. This place is really getting bad IMO

edit:
It's also important to know another person ask the same question and the poster left them alone, but came after me full force.

Is it permissible to give a thank you gift to a

home health nurse? My daughter had medical problems requiring home nurse visits and they are about to come to an end. Is it permissible to give her a home made thank you gift? I was thinking a crocheted hat/scarf set. Thanks in advance.

I lost my big guy last night... up dated post

He died where he was happiest, on my lap. RIP big guy, I sure miss you!

Updated to add, we buried him in my rose garden yesterday. He loved to smell the roses. Now every time one blooms it will his rose. He was 16 years old and led a very good life. Thank you all for the condolences.

Need some healing vibes...

My daughter is in the hospital, for the 3rd time since the middle of August. She is having pancreas problems. Her lipase numbers right now are 542, supposed to be under 100. They have gotten as high as 800. Docs can't find the problem.
Without going into any of the gory details, I am just asking for some of the famous DU vibes to help get her through this. Thanks in advance

Ex-Congressman Traficant In Critical Condition

http://www.alan.com/2014/09/25/ex-congressman-traficant-in-critical-condition/

The former congressman, 73, is “sedated and he’s not doing well,” his wife told The Vindicator a few minutes before heading back to the St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, where he was taken after first being rushed to Salem Regional Hospital.

Traficant was driving a 1943 Ford tractor about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday at his family farm on West South Range Road about 140 feet into a large pole barn when the vehicle struck a large steel blade on the ground, said Goshen Police Chief Steve T. McDaniel.

That caused the tractor to flip with Traficant still in the vehicle’s seat, but trapped with the tractor on top of him, McDaniel said…

It is believed that Traficant suffered a heart attack on the tractor, said Linda Kovachik, a longtime family friend and former aide when Traficant was in Congress.

short article, nothing more.

Another Obama care success story...

My daughter works for just above minimum wage and couldn't afford insurance before the ACA. Now she has insurance and boy are we glad. She was having big time stomach problems. It started by not being able to keep much food down and progressed into not even being able to keep water down. At the third trip to the ER they decided to admit her because of high pancreas enzymes ( they stayed elevated thru the whole affair). Finally after all this they decide to take her gall bladder and found she has an ulcer too.
She is home now and on her way to recovery, but if it weren't for ObamaCare I would be sitting in a lawyers office filing for bankruptcy right about now!

We've created a monster.. porch kitty update.. pic heavy

So previously we couldn't get close enough to even touch him. After working on getting him used to us being around and getting close, we finally were able to just do a quick touch on the head or back, just something to let him know we were harmless. Well now we can pet and pick him up, he comes in and stays for hours before wanting back out. BUT .. he so likes the human touch and being petted he insists on it constantly.. lol.. whether he likes it or not, I think he is domesticated.

and of course we can't forget our meatloaf..

OK all of you car guys/gals out there, I have a question...

My daughter drives a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee with over 200,000 mile. It's been pretty reliable except of late. It seems the positive post on the battery keeps oxidizing, quite rapidly. She was at a restaurant here in town last week and called to say it wouldn't start, her dad and I went in the check it out. It needed the posts cleaned, started right up then. Yesterday she tried to go to work, wouldn't start again. Dad went out to check and the positive post was all black again, in only a week. The negative post was still bright and shiny.
Now my question(s).. what could be causing it to oxidize so rapidly and what can be done to remedy it?

Thanks to anyone and everyone with help/suggestions
