Russian-run restaurant in Japan looking to hire Ukrainian evacuees

A restaurant in Chiba run by a Russian mother and daughter is planning to hire evacuees from Ukraine as a way to help people get back on their feet and express opposition to the war there.

Anastasia and Daiana Stetsyuk, aged 40 and 20 respectively, operate Russian restaurant Matreshka, which opened four years ago in the city of Chiba and serves home cuisine including borscht.

“Although (the evacuees) may be still feeling anxious after coming to Japan, we’d like to do whatever we can to help,” said Daiana, whose mother was born in the populous city of Khabarovsk in Russia’s Far East and came to Japan for work 20 years ago.

It is true. Hershel Walker is a winner

Hershel Walker keeps telling us all that he is a winner and everyone knows that about him.
And it's very true
The #1 Worst Trade in the History of the NFL (aka Winner of the Worst Trade in NFL History) is the Hershel Walker from Dallas to Minnesota for Draft Picks trade in 1989.

Dallas turned that trade into Super Bowl Championship and Walker played two+ seasons for Minnesota before they sent him packing.
In Minnesota he rushed for just over 2,200 yards in two-and-a-half seasons
The first half season he was with Minnesota they won their division.
The only two full seasons withe Minnesota the team finished 5th (6-10) and 3rd (8-8)
1992-94 he played in Philly. The first year, they finished 2nd in the East (11-5-0) and lost to Dallas in the playoffs.
2nd and 3rd season the Eagles finished 3rd (8-8) and 4th (7-9) -- To be fair, the NFC was a very tough division through much of the 80s and early-to-mid 90s
In 3 seasons with Philly, his rushing went from a little over 1000 yards to to almost 750, to just above 500 yards
In 95 he played for the Giants and rushed for just over 100 yards. The Giants went 5-11 that lone season
96 and 97, his last two seasons saw him back in Dallas, where the winner rushed for under 100 yards each season. (Though in his final season he got over 1000 yards on kick returns). Dallas won the NFC East and lost to Carolina and in 97, they finished 4th (6-10)

In his first three full NFL seasons 86-88, he had one season where rushed over 1000 yards and Dallas went 7-9, 7-8, 3-13

His stats certainly say winner Super Bowls - 0, Seasons rushing over 1000 yards - 2, Seasons played - 12. And he has 61 rushing touchdowns
Those stats certainly say winner... or something

Fact-check: Viral mannequin video does not prove Bucha killings were staged

A viral video of a mannequin has falsely claimed to show proof that the killing of civilians in the Ukrainian town of Bucha were staged.

snip

A Euronews investigation has found that the footage was not filmed in Ukraine, but was actually from a Russian television set near St. Petersburg.

snip

The video first appeared on Telegram alongside the caption “this is how the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] prepares their staged videos".

snip

The mannequin was being used for a simulation scene, where it falls from several stories onto a black car. The same vehicle is visible in the misleading, viral video.

"That's us in Vsevolozhsk, shooting the fall from the window for our show on March 20th, and that's our stunt director and his assistant getting Albertik ready for filming," Nadezhda wrote on Facebook.

Putin's Apologists aka, the Blame America First crowd has two new members (long post)

I posted this a month or so back but I am adding names
In the original list, I had names like
Tuckyo Rose Carlson - You know, Putin's favorite on air news hack
Alex Jones because Ukraine is so pro-transgender and George Soros
Tulsi Gabbard -- Never met a brutal authoritarian she doesn't like. Though she seems to hate LGBTQ people
JD Vance - Ukraine is woke and Russia isn't. Those wokies are so powerful. Oh...and like Alex Jones, transgender

Adding to the list is someone whose shelf life relevance expired a long time ago, yet, he still finds time to be wrong
Scott Ritter. Yes, former U.N. weapons inspector and Putin fanboy has found a new career letting us know how brilliant and innocent Putin is, and how bad the U.S. and western Europe is in various publications you likely have never heard of. Nice he found a way to make money. I'm guessing those 15 and 16 year old girls don't come cheap. (Ritter was arrested again in November 2009 over communications with a police decoy he met on an Internet chat site. Police said that he exposed himself, via a web camera, after the officer repeatedly identified himself as a 15-year-old girl.)

On January 28, Ritter wrote in the Energy Intelligence Forum (article titled 'Russia Moves Toward Checkmate' link: https://www.energyintelligenceforum.com/2021/Russia-Moves-Toward-Checkmate-on-Ukraine ):
Russia, however, is far too sophisticated to allow itself to be boxed into such a corner. In the weeks and months ahead, Russia will be the one dictating the outcome of this crisis — which will be a resounding Russian victory.
To this end, the primary purpose of Russia’s military buildup is to expose the political, military and economic impotence of the US/Nato partnership by a range of crises
and
...either agree to trade Nato’s open-door policy for Russian agreement not to deploy into the Western Hemisphere, or force a confrontation that will result in a Russian invasion of Ukraine that is seen by Europe as being the fault of the US.

Writing in TASS, Ritter claimed that forensic evidence needs to be provided to verify claims that Russians killed those civilians. Which he deems unlikely -- he is claiming 'false flag'.
He wrote: "Anyone who makes knee jerk judgements from unverified videos sourced from a side known for wild propagandistic claims without waiting for verification of any kind should probably stop calling themselves journalists,"
For a second, I thought he was talking about Russia. But, no. He wasn't.

Also, in an interview on First Channel (a Russian network): "...Russia is not targeting the Ukrainian population, unlike Zelenskyy, who wants to create an artificial humanitarian crisis in Ukraine."

The other I am adding is Gonzalo Lira
Lira, an American who’s lived in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv for years and was in Kyiv at the start of the offensive

From Daily Beast: Lira has portrayed the Russian assault as provoked—and as “one of the most brilliant invasions in military history.” He has insisted that the invaders don’t want to harm civilians or civilian infrastructure and are in fact taking pains not to, that the Russian advance has not stalled but is in fact right on course, and that Russian domination will likely be good for Ukraine in the end.

From mythdetector: Lira claimed there were no large-scale battles with hundreds or thousands of casualties and the Russian Army was very careful in Ukraine.
Gonzalo Lira also claimed that disconnecting Russia from SWIFT would destroy the dollar.
...he said the United States wanted to “drag Russia into the war” and urged Ukraine to attack Russia.

Trump Raises Birther Charge Against Cruz

Donald Trump told Fox News he doubts Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) can legally run for president because he was born in Canada.

Said Trump: “It’s a hurdle; somebody could certainly look at it very seriously. He was born in Canada. If you know and when we all studied our history lessons, you are supposed to be born in this country, so I just don’t know how the courts will rule on this.”

The Hill reports Cruz said he is still a natural born citizen by birth because his mother was American.

So Trump is endorsing Palin for the open AK House seat

Trump thinks she's smart, savvy and he appreciates her supporting him from the beginning
Yet, this smart (she reads all the magazines) and savvy person couldn't get a post anywhere in Trump's (mal)administration.
If she is so damned special, why didn't he give her an ambassadorship to Monaco, or Malta or Laos even?
