that he doesn't cause an international incident- or tries to impersonate a President.
They've thrown everything AND the kitchen sink at him for the past 4 years
If all that junk hasn't made a difference with enough people by now, then it's not going to ever IMHO. The main problem with the right's attacks is that they don't cohabit reality and most people, thankfully, are perceptive enough to recognize that the right's "Barack X" doesn't really exist and that you have to pretty much already be at least halfway gone yourself to seriously buy into right-wing propaganda about President Obama.
There are so many mixed messages that the GOP puts out there
"Get government out of our lives" but no abortion, no gay sex, and, pretty soon, no birth control.
"Cut taxes" but no tax cuts for middle-income or poor people. In fact, THEY should be paying MORE while "job creators" should pay less!
"We all need to sacrifice to balance the budget" but "you people" need to give up your Social Security, Medicare, etc. and we will give more money to defense contractors and cut taxes for "job creators"
We should start a compilation.
Looks like his own private attempt at "birtherism" and attacking affirm action is backfiring on him.
not that I'm complaining, mind you!
I agree in part what you are saying
I don't want it to be a WWF event and I want some level of civility maintained (these are people whom are potentially going to be representing our country for the next 4 years. I don't want a "President Camacho" but I hate that debates usually consist of little more than "talking points" and "zingers" from each side. It would definitely be nice to see an actual reasonable discussion about ideas, policies, etc. Things, however, have become so polarized in this country thanks to hate radio and Tea Party (among other things), it seems practically impossible right now. When enough people get sick of the status quo, things will change IMHO. I think that there is a real thirst in this country for more "middle ground" but people whom want this need to take the next steps and work for and vote for more "middle ground" candidates. President Obama is a very "middle ground" candidate IMHO but he's been forced to operate in a highly partisan environment.
Ann:
There is something that you and your husband can do about this concern of yours, ya' know? If not, I imagine that the rest of us will do it for you in 37 days.
That was a nasty cheap shot
Romney and Priebus couldn't wait long enough to politicize it whereas some Republicans, including McCain, (somehow) managed to restrain themselves for at least five seconds. Their five seconds seem to be over now and they all have their marching orders from the RNC and Romney campaign. Is it too much to ask for some time and an investigation before jumping all over the Administration about this? I mean, we waited for months and YEARS for Republicans to begin an official investigation into 9/11 and I wager that there still is a lot that we may never know about it.
Ah yes
Good ol' "liberal media bias" fallback. I seriously wish these people would STFU about this. They practically own the airwaves and have a media outlet or one or two or three whose correspondents pretty much parrot whatever they say and invites them and their supporters on as guests at a substantially higher ratio than Democrats and/or progressives (seen Noam and/or Katrina anywhere on a mainstream news outlet recently?). Do "socialists" and/or Green Party members get invited on news shows like "Tea Party" people do?
is Ryan talking about? More flailing and failing from the Romney campaign.
Why I'm NOT worried about the debates
Mitt Romney can't/won't stop being Mitt Romney. Does anybody truly believe that he's going to show up at any of the three debates and suddenly become this amazing candidate (that he hasn't been all campaign season) who's gonna whoop Barack Obama on policy and unmask him for the lazy, unqualified, and out-of-his-depth "Kenyan Muslim usurper" that he and the Republican Fox News Tea Party all firmly believe he is for all of the country to see and that Romney's poll numbers will rebound and suddenly he'll be favored to win the election in November? Yeah, me neither.
So if voters vote to get rid of the law
the GOP will just ram it right through the legislature again and Synder will sign it back into law? So much for democracy in Michigan.
