All but only the most ardent Trumplickers

know that Trump is a s**tshow IMHO. The remaining questions for everybody else are:

1. Will they get out and vote for whoever his Democratic opponent is, as well as voting against Trump's congressional enablers?
2. Will they BE ABLE TO vote for whoever his Democratic opponent is, as well against Trump's congressional enablers

If the answers to both of those questions are yes, then I think that there's a good chance we will sweep him out of office in November, and hopefully bring in a majority in both chambers of Congress. Then, we will stand a good chance of fixing things. I just have a bad feeling that the answers to both of those questions will be much more complicated.

That's by far the more important story here

Actually, it's the ONLY one

Democrats aren't responsible for the Republican's unwillingness to listen to facts, evidence, witnesses

January 30, 2020

I can't disagree

I would definitely like to see Democrats really take a strong stance against this. There should not be ANY reason short of death that a legal adult shouldn't be able to have the right to cast a vote in our democracy and the instant we start making exceptions to whom can participate in it we have failed.

IKR

It's all relative with these people. They would not hesitate to try to impeach a Democrat no matter whether it's their first term, in an election year. They impeached Clinton in a (Congressional) Election year. The execution of justice does not and should not rest on such arbitrary distinctions.

There seems to be a perception/belief

that Democrats have to MAKE Republicans behave and do their jobs and it's so f**king annoying.

January 23, 2020

I fully expect

that the Republicans will wind up in permanent pretzel shapes by the time this is all over, trying to make excuses for Trump. Trump regularly touts himself as the best, the smartest, etc. and his followers herald him as well, however, Republicans cover for him like an embarrassed parent would make excuses for their 2-year old whenever he is caught doing something wrong. He's a frickin 70+ year old man. He knows what he's doing and if he doesn't, then he STILL doesn't belong in the Office of the Presidency of the United States.

One person can't define an entire political party

Her opinions are, of course, her opinions, but litmus tests are simply not very helpful when we are going to need unite quickly once the primaries are over and stick together HARD to win against Trump. We should have learned from 2016 that, given the imminent threat we were (and are) knowingly facing with Trump, we need to have the biggest tent possible to win against him in 2020. This is true whether Sanders is the nominee and it's true whether Biden is the nominee. And if you don't like the eventual nominee, keep it to yourself and vote for them like your life depends on it (because it does). Whatever you think of Sanders, Warren, Buttegieg, or Biden, all of them are eminently qualified to run this country and treat governance of this crazy country extremely seriously, unlike Trump. I respect AOC and her opinions but she needs to be ready and willing to hold the tent door open in November to create a winning coalition needed to beat Trump. We couldn't afford 4 years of Trump, we definitely can't afford 8. Eyes on the prize.

Some of the stuff I'm seeing on Social Media ATM does not seem good

A lot of the hardcore Berners are busy trashing Warren, Michael Moore put out a podcast of his own basically lamenting Warren's campaign's accusation of sexism against Sanders, a lot of them making her sound like Hillary 2.0 and that she is a liar and corporate shill, basically just recycling attacks on Hillary and the DNC from 2016. I have a bad feeling that some of them will feel (again) like Sanders was robbed by the DNC if he doesn't win the nod. Some of them are pretty cultish about Bernie, almost like Trump supporters IMHO. I'm pretty much for Warren, but I'll vote for whoever wins. I worry that this is turning into an ugly slugfest between the two camps.

I'm very nervous

about Trumpers "handling" any major issue like this, especially homelessness, when we've seen how they've been handling immigration. I see nothing good in the future.

January 2, 2020

Pretty much

If you have to fight on that ground, though, there are some stats floating around (that I assume are credible) that show how the market actually isn't as strong under Trump as under Obama or Clinton and, of course, Trump's Tariffs are hurting the manufacturing and farming industries (I mean, farmers are literally being bailed out). Also, be sure to point out that, despite his pledges to the contrary, the Coal Industry is still faltering because it's more or less inevitable and that, despite him yelling at Windmills, clean energy is not just going to vanish and that people are more interested in it than propping up dying, dirtier energy industries.

I think that the overarching argument Democrats should be making is that another 4 years of Trump is another 4 years of uncertainty and instability and wouldn't it be better to have a stable President instead of an unstable one. Stability is good for the country's economy, foreign policy, etc.
