I was watching MSNBC and Steve Kornacki was flipping his magic chart from state to state.
As the evening went on, and Hillary was losing places we were sure she'd win, I watched the pundits and, in some strange way, their faces seemed to be "melting" which is the only word I can think of to describe their realization of what was happening.
I especially remember Eugene Robinson, a great columnist and editor of the WAPO. I'll never forget the way his face expressed the disaster that was befalling America as the electoral count continued and it became apparent that a crazed Orange Beast would be occupying the White House. I wish I could find a video clip of it. He totally understood the disaster that was taking place and how the majority of Americans would spend the next four years getting fucked to a degree that no one could have predicted.
Here's my point. Steve Kornaki, throw away your magic board. Pollsters, try to grasp the fact that most people don't answer the phone when their caller ID shows them they don't know who's calling.
The MSM keeps telling us that the Republicans are "ahead," whatever the fuck that means.
Think back to that evening of Nov. 8th, 2016. Everyone was wrong.
Sooo, given the anger and common sense of the vast majority of American voters, I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict a Blue Wave. And all you have to do is show up and vote. And don't be deterred by all the hurdles Republicans have thrown up to make sure that you don't. If everyone eligible to vote does so, the Republicans will never win another election in the majority of states.
Is God an American? And a Republican?
Yeah, let's leave out for a moment that he/she/it (if he/she/it actually exits), has no specific religion, nationality, color, gender, sexual orientation, or any other trait that we humans can identify with.
What I'm getting at here is that millions of American religious fanatics believe that some kind of "Christian God" is on their side, is against all the rest of us, and is on the verge of bringing about their dream of Armageddon.
They have every right to believe this. But they have no right at all to force their beliefs on the rest of us.
I know many Democrats who believe there is a God. But none of them think he/she/it has a nationality or is a Democrat. Their answer to questions about some indefinable God is, "I don't know."
But fanatical, "Christian," Republicans seem to have all the answers that the rest of us won't accept. Seems their God has left us out of the scheme of things. (Kinda' like the Taliban have all the answers, and either scorn or kill anyone who doesn't believe in the absolute "truth" of those answers.)
Here's my answer to Americans who totally believe their own dogma and want to turn America into a "Christian" country.
Believe what you will, but leave the rest of us alone. You don't get to "own" the beliefs of every American. And if you gain all political power, and try to force your beliefs on the rest of us, it won't work.
AND, you'll soon find yourself reigned in by those who bought and paid for the government you believed would come about. You'll learn that you were nothing but pawns who were used to bring absolute power to the tremendously wealthy. At which point, you can pray until you're numb, but will find that it won't make any difference.
So, try to understand this. This God you believe in isn't an American or a Republican. You've been had and fucked. And you've fucked up all the rest of us in the process.

Whether or not Nancy Pelosi is still the Speaker of the House after the upcoming election, she has succeeded in letting the world know that the Orange Beast is a world-class coward. Let me clarify that. She has engraved the word COWARD on his forehead.
This past weekend, she once again questioned his manhood and repeated it four times. And she's done it a few times before on national TV.
I can't think of anything that would drive him more bugshit insane than a WOMAN claiming that he is a coward and that his manhood is nonexistent.
Hey, Donald. It doesn't matter what you say, do, or whatever revenge you try to bring down upon her. SHE'S CUT OFF YOUR BALLS. And there ain't no fixing that.
His endless, childlike attacks upon her will now increase to the maximum. He'll ramp it up to the top of the chart. But, hear this, you Orange Prick. Your balls are in her trophy case.
There have been many posts, including my own, on what she's done to him. But this is one of those things that can't be repeated enough.
So about that Social Security, Medicare, ObamaCare crap
Yes, I know that others keep posting that the American social safety net is in danger.
But it can't be said enough times. The Republican Party blueprint is to get rid of everything, EVERYTHING, that helps the "peasants." And those "peasants" just happen to be the majority of us Americans.
Social Security, Medicare, ObamaCare, school loan forgiveness, food programs for children, sane drug prices, rebuilding our infrastructure, and so, so many other humane programs, are on the Republican chopping block. Making the world a better place doesn't appear anywhere on their blueprint. So don't look for any basic decency, or empathy, or humanity among members of that Party Of Death. They really don't give a shit if, or how many "peasants," live or die. They really don't care about you.
Their voters will never "get" the fact that they too are "peasants' to elected Republicans. They buy the propaganda, they love "Dear Leader," and they will eat any shit fed to them by those who "own" them. And it's possible that their votes in the upcoming election will create a country, with many in power, who are fascists and who will destroy them along with all the rest of us.
So about that Social Security, Medicare, ObamaCare crap? Once they own us, it's all gone. Aside from voting, do we have a Plan B?
Nancy Pelosi once again questions Trump's manhood
She said that he wouldn't be man enough to obey the subpoena of the Jan 6th committee. Actually, she said it four times.
The Orange Beast must be bouncing off the walls of Mar-a-Lago and hurling countless bottles of ketchup against the walls.
This isn't the first time Nancy has done this. She's questioned his manhood, on camera, a few times before. She knows how to send him into an insane rage.
My guess is she's Number 1 on his hate list. She's the one he'd like to shoot in the middle of 5th Ave.
Nancy, you go girl. You might just drive him into a fit of apoplexy from which he never recovers.
The wonderfulness of so many on DU
Yesterday, a member of the DU forum was much in need of help.
As of now, members of DU have donated more than a much needed $4,000.
But they did far more than that. Some posted sources where critical assistance could be found. And many others posted words of empathy, understanding, encouragement and hope.
I'm proud to be a member of this "online community" where so many people care about others, with no more knowledge of them than that they are human beings calling out for help.

Biden stops hearing aid wearers from getting fucked
I don't wear hearing aids, but people I know who do, say that their hearing aids cost them anywhere between $500 to $1,000 or far more. That's because a prescription from a doctor is required for hearing aids.
Joe Biden has put an end to that ripoff by making hearing aids available over the counter.
Hey, Republican hearing aid wearers. Biden just saved you a bunch of big bucks. And if your party takes over the government, they'll repeal this and you'll be fucked again.

It’s a mis-characterization to say the GOP plans to “cut” the programs, Scalise said on “Fox News Sunday.”
As part of the on-air appearance, host Shannon Bream asked the Louisiana congressman about the proposed budget plan from the Republican Study Committee, which Scalise is a member of. As Politico noted, the plan, among other things, included proposals for “raising the eligibility ages for each program, along with withholding payments for individuals who retire early or had a certain income, and privatized funding for Social Security to lower income taxes.”
Yesterday was an opportunity for Scalise to distance himself from the document and its recommendations. He did largely the opposite.
Will an overwhelming majority of Americans ever understand that Republicans don't give a shit if they suffer and die, (in old age, or long before that). THEY DON'T FUCKING CARE ABOUT YOU! What is it, Republican voters, what is it you don't understand about that?
I don't want to see the Orange Prick dead.
I want him to live a very, very long life in prison.
I want to see him suffer the pain of losing his freedoms.
I want to see him subjected to the indignities and cruelties he's forced upon countless others.
I want to see him pay the price for a lifetime of undeserved privilege while living off of his scams.
I want to see him treated as any of us would be treated if we had committed even a small fraction of his crimes.
I want to see any soul he may have, crushed for what may still become his destruction of American democracy.
I want to see him grovel and eat the shit he's fed to so many others.
And, yes, I feel a twinge of guilt in wishing these horrors on anyone. But, fuck it. Sometimes, creatures like him come along that are so filled with hatred/venom, that you really can't give a rat's ass what they've brought upon themselves.
