The mark of Cain - it seems very appropiate to me today -

Then the LORD asked Cain, Where is your brother Abel? He answered, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” God then said: What have you done? Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground! Now you are banned from the ground that opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.If you till the ground, it shall no longer give you its produce. You shall become a constant wanderer on the earth. Cain said to the LORD: “My punishment is too great to bear. Look, you have now banished me from the ground. I must avoid you and be a constant wanderer on the earth. Anyone may kill me at sight.” Not so! the LORD said to him. If anyone kills Cain, Cain shall be avenged seven times. So the LORD put a mark on Cain, so that no one would kill him at sight.

I wouldn't put the surviving bomber(s) in jail - I'd make them mop the floors in a rehab center forever!

Those of you who share space with a cat and/or dog - a delicate question -

I am very assiduous about cleaning up those little accidents as soon as I see them. I do have one dog that persists in marking things inside the house from time to time.

Now - if i go away for a few hours and come back, I don't smell anything. I did get close to the couch and sniff general dog so i sprayed the couch down with lavender spray and that seemed to take care of it.

My two sisters haven't been in my house for years ( they live out of state). Both are very fastidious (maybe a little OCD). They've both made remarks about how you can always tell a house with animals by the smell.

So my question is - does my house stink and I don't know it?

Tell me again how Americans overuse the health system:

I have had increasing problems with my feet the last few years. I realized this morning I must have spent well over $100 on shoe inserts, different shoe styles, even special socks. I have excellent health insurance and could have seen a podiatrist for a $20 co-pay at any time!

Some people really, really need to get a life:

SALMON, Idaho -- A transgender woman whose use of a women's restroom in an Idaho grocery store reportedly upset other customers has been cited for trespassing and banned from the store for a year, police said on Friday.

A Rosauers supermarket in Lewiston asked police to charge 25-year-old Ally Robledo, who was born male but identifies as female, with the misdemeanor trespass charge on Monday, Lewiston Police Captain Roger Lanier said.

"The store security officer said he had been dealing with a problem over a couple days with the person going into the women's restroom and urinating while standing up," Lanier said.

He added that the store had reported that Robledo's use of the restroom made other female customers "very uncomfortable."

Every women's rest room I've ever been in has stalls with doors around the toilets. Who the hell goes into the bathroom and checks under the doors to see if the other person is peeing sitting down or standing up? Who the hell cares? If anything, I think Ms. Robledo is the one with the right to complain of invasion of privacy!

One can only conclude that in Lewiston, Idaho, (population 32,000), the lack of entertainment is so dire that going to the grocery store to take a pee is a major event in some people's day!

Chained CPI- did anyone else notice that Obama is bargaining

cuts in the future ( Which can be rescinded) for revenues today?

Also, I am wondering where all the magic numbers regarding Chained CPI come from? It all would depend on how the chain is defined. If there is say, a temporary massive price increase in strawberries and blueberries are substituted, that is a reasonable substitute for that quarter. But, in the long run, wouldn't the price for strawberries would return to normal? Wouldn't the prices for both strawberries and blueberries over the long run gradually increase with inflation? I don't see how seniors would take a hit or if there would be real savings.

On the other hand, if fruit gets dropped from the basket should prices go up, then the Chained CPI is an end to cost of living increases. It all depends whether like is substituted for like, or whether something is dropped entirely. Even today, there is some dispute over what items should be in the basket.

Chained CPI - maybe what the economy needs is a real boost in actual Social Security payments

Social Security is the one method we have of ensuring many citizens benefit from increased productivity. We know we're in trouble because wages haven't kept up with productivity gains. Eliminate the cap on Social Security deductions and you keep Social Security in the black and partially resolve the damage from extreme income imbalances.

So- i went yesterday and had blood drawn for a number of tests -

I don't see the doctor until next week. Any one of the tests could explain why I've been losing strength and stamina. Here's hoping at least one delivers news of something treatable!
