A reminder - this is why we have a Food Stamp Program:

http://billmoyers.com/content/what-inspired-robert-f-kennedys-fight-against-hunger/

"In nearly every place, especially rural communities, where we found a severe unwillingness to help the poor, we also found, and not always because of ethnic differences, a pocket of feudalism in America: a local power structure committed to perpetuating itself at all costs and unwilling to countenance the slightest improvement in the lives of the excluded, for fear they would gain the confidence and the wherewithal to overturn the status quo at the ballot box. Elected officials, judges, police officers and sheriffs, and local bankers and business people were always ready to use any tool necessary to quash dissidence whenever it appeared. "

Craig's list, WOW!

I placed an ad to give away the hen that kept crossing the road, and someone picked up her and one of my spare roosters within the hour!

NFL players on gay rights:

KLUWE: I think it just takes, it would just need to take more of us speaking out about the issue and showing that, you know, it's okay to come out. It's okay to be who you are. Because in the locker room, you know, we'll have your back.

BLOCK: Brendon, what do you think?

AYANBADEJO: Yeah, I mean, I believe it's gonna take the right city, the right organization and the right timing. That's why we're so adamant about this and speaking out, so we can help whoever the next young person is that comes out. So that they can not only, you know, excel in what they're doing at work but also excel as an individual. And in turn, they're going to make us a better place to live and enhance everything.

.....

AYANBADEJO: I think so. I spoke to Dick Cass, the president from the Ravens about this issue and, you know, right now, what do we expect of our players? We expect you to be a good person, we expect you to be a good player, we expect you to get your job done. If you can get your job done and you're also a great player, the type of person that is wanted in the organization, then you're only going to enhance the organization. It doesn't matter what your sexual orientation is.

If Romney really feels a need to comment on a video....

how about commenting on the one which purports to be him talking about a Chinese factory?

You tube has taken the video down, but you can read a transcript here:

The situation is still developing - Ambassador Stevens risked his life to

protect Benghazi from Qaddafi. Those who were rebels know this, and they will soon identify those who killed Stevens. The Libyan government has condemned the rioters. I suspect that those involved will face punishment soon.

Question about sleep patterns :

I'm coming out of a severe flare of Sjogren's (think Lupus lite). The medication I'm on has resolved the fatigue and breathlessness. In general, I'm out of condition but am working on regaining my strength. Here's the question: I'm sleeping well, but I'm sleeping 11-12 hours a night. Is this my body healing itself after the flare?

Question about all the companies sitting on cash reserves:

Aren't they targets for acquisition and bust-out by outfits like Bain Capital?

I figured it out: Paul Ryan thinks this is a small family business:

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT

In support of its projects, Ryan Incorporated Central employs over one hundred administrative and supervisory personnel and more than four hundred trade employees during the season. While most of the estimating, administration, and accounting is performed in our corporate headquarters in Janesville, Wisconsin the company maintains permanent offices in Elgin, Illinois, and Hagerstown, Maryland.

Field operations are coordinated by regional Operations Managers who investigate new work, insure that the Field Superintendents have the resources they need to perform and that the work is done in accordance with Company standards. The Operations Managers also work to create open and productive communications between the offices, the field, and the customer.

Each project is run by a highly experienced full-time Field Superintendent with full responsibility for the on-site field operations including safety, scheduling, production, field engineering, subcontractor coordination and quality control. The Field Superintendent is also responsible for reporting and maintaining a professional relationship with the Owner, its agents and the appropriate authorities having jurisdiction over this work.

EQUIPMENT

Ryan Incorporated Central has one of the country’s largest site-work specific fleets with over 500 pieces of heavy construction equipment. In addition to our permanent fleet, we have access to any required specialty equipment through our extensive network of preferred equipment dealers and subcontractors. Our fleet size gives us the flexibility to meet the most demanding schedules and manage changing jobsite conditions.

Edited to add:

Romney thinks this is a small business:

Bain Capital is one of the world's leading private, alternative asset management firms, with approximately $65 billion in assets under management.
