About Me

Gee - my profile info didn't migrate from the old DU I guess? The main thing - 90% refers to the maximum allowable percentage of nitromethane fuel permitted in modern NHRA Top Fuel and Funny cars. Which is what makes current "nostalgia nitro" so cool - you can still "tip the can" and run straight nitro, if you want to. I'm an aging northeast liberal with an overdeveloped justice gland. OUR INSTITUTIONS ARE INFESTED WITH GREEDY AND CORRUPT SOCIOPATHS

Journal Archives

What's going on?

OUR INSTITUTIONS ARE INFESTED WITH CORRUPT SOCIOPATHS.

And one of them seems to have a 50% chance of being our next President.

Are we bad enough as a people to deserve such a fate?

Do we really have to live the rest of our lives in frightened struggling one paycheck away from bankruptcy economic servitude?

Are the sociopaths that deliberately cause all this economic misery even happy about it? I mean, are they TRULY ENJOYING THIS?

Lamar Waldron wrote a book about Nixon/Watergate recently

Thom's great mind interviewing Lamar's great mind:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/101733040

One of the biggest big lies in all of recorded history:

"I am not a crook" - Richard M. Nixon

Now, what's really interesting and is one of the key elements of THE ROOT CAUSES OF THE CORPORATE TAKE OVER OF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT:

Nixon WH alumnus include

DICK CHENEY (chee-nee, as C. Mathews would pronouce it)
Don Rumsfeld
Roger Ailes

I strongly reccomend a DU listen to both parts of Thom's interview. It's EXCELLENT political archeology as to why our modern politics is pure unadulterated corporate propaganda to serve the interests of the wealthy at the expense of the rest of us!

This Nixon/watergate subject is a ROSETTA STONE for untangling modern American fascism.

And it substantiates my contention that modern America is a

CORPORATE FASCIST TOTALITARIAN POLICE STATE

All the laws are in place and enough of our Constitutional Rights have been repealed that CAMP REAGAN* will become a reality in my life time.

"Zappa was very critical about the Reagan administration. As early as the 1960s Zappa criticized Reagan, while he was still Governor of California. The liner notes of We're Only In It For The Money (1968) mention that the concentration camp in The Chrome Plated Megaphone Of Destiny is called "Camp Reagan".

Aditionally

The self control of the two left leaning guests is laudable and amazing.

If I found myself engaged in a conversation of any kind with the likes of FEHRNSTROM, it would take every ounce of self control I can muster to prevent myself from ramming my arm down his throat and ripping his lungs out with my bare hands.

These Romney people are despicable! They should all be sent back to their neighborhood Country Clubs with an ankle bracelet and kept under house arrest for the rest of their lives!

-90% Jimmy again.

Gee - turning Country Clubs into prisons for the wealthy is a really good idea, isn't it?

That is really good news

Primarily because it is the result of the efforts of the

OCCUPY BUFFALO movement.

The Occupy movement seems to be working effectively to begin the restoration of our Democracy.

I've has an Occupy yard sign by the road in front of my house for about 6 months now, and an Occupy bumper sticker on my tailgate for about four.

Meager, I know, but, I feel you have to keep trying and every little tiny bit helps.

ESPECIALLY IF WE THE 99% ARE ALL ENGAGED IN DOING THESE LITTLE THINGS! That would yield a louder pro-democracy message than all the Citizens United Corporate Propaganda their billions can buy!

-90% Jimmy

Is it just me?

Is it just me or does all this voter disenfranchisement games going on by the Republican politicians in Florida have a Fascist Nazi Mafia aroma to it?

Our institutions have been captured by corporate organized crime.

And are annihilating our Democracy in the process.

Fool me twice.....won't get fooled again.

Once again, the internet is our last and almost only hope to save Democracy.

That Romney and Obama can be dead even or even Romney ahead in some polls simply means the Corporations are winning! Which also means we progressives are doing a crappy job of citizenship, as to me it's self evident that Obama should be leading by 25 points! The stupid mean selfish and greedy people are winning. Kicking our asses, actually. What are we all going to do about it?

The Iraq War

I find it ironic that almost all American's cannot articulate why we invaded Iraq in the first place.

smoking guns = mushroom clouds
WMD'S
Nerve Gas
Liberating Iraqi's from their evil Dictator
fight 'em over there so we don't have to fight 'em over here.
hunt down the bastards behind 9-11 and avenge

Suppose we gave a war and nobody knew why we did it - well, that's pretty much the case with Iraq.

Vanity Wars - every Prezdent gets to have one!

-90% Jimmy

PS - I am included in the above mentioned group "almost all Americans". My guess is the war had something to do with the interests of Big Oil?

Mathews quote from the 2002 war selling era

"WE ARE ALL NEOCONS NOW"

I don't think the landscsape of news coverage on cable has changed that much since 2002.

I also think that more and more people that don't want to be ill informed or LOW INFORMATION VOTERS are turning to the internet for their news, because they know that all of American Main Stream Media that comes through the TV machine is fascist corporate propaganda. It's bullshit manufactured by the sociopaths that have captured all our institutions.

The most galling recent item in modern MSM is the selling of per-emptive war against Iran so as to keep them from getting the bomb.

Americans will enjoy TEN TIMES the casualty rate of Iraq and Afghanistan and the reinstatement of the draft if that future fiasco gets sold. We'll get to repeat the failure lessons of Viet Nam for the second fucking time in my lifetime! 58,000 on the Wall. We can beat that this time!

I like Penn

Pretty freaking eccentric in a lot of areas, but I like his thinking and I agree with his point. We should not be so medieval on victimless crimes. Jail is hell. Amazing how many lives we casually ruin for outright stupidity and meanness.

I am mighty pissed at his DOJ policy on medical marijuana and decriminalizing. So much needless misery. Our whole drug war is starting to be seriously questioned by those countries it directly affects. The ex-Pres of Mexico is very vocal now about how stupid the American Drug War is, and why do you have to wreck my country to satisfy the appetite for drugs in your country?

Mexico has lost 50,000 in this drug war. That's as many Americans as we lost in Viet Nam. So, gee, the American drug war is Mexico's Viet Nam?

Does that make us bad?

America

The fucking country that made me pledge allegiance to them every fucking morning in public school practiced torture in the 21st Century!

http://emptywheel.firedoglake.com/2009/04/18/khalid-sheikh-mohammed-was-waterboarded-183-times-in-one-month/I

"Iíve put this detail in a series of posts, but it really deserves a full post. According to the May 30, 2005 Bradbury memo, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was waterboarded 183 times in March 2003 and Abu Zubaydah was waterboarded 83 times in August 2002. "

183 times in a fucking month. did he confess only one letter per torture session until a full sentence could be constructed out of 183 tries?

Trust me, there will be more American torture in the future, now that the traitors that made this policy are not accountable for their acts of treason and war crimes!

It's fuzzy in my mind, but I was flipping channels during a Rachel commercial break and saw some CIA guy on Hannity talking about his new book about how good it was he got to torture this guy and get all the wonderful life saving intelligence.

Torture is always wrong and against every principle this country professes to believe in. Not to mention it only produces low quality bogus info. From the minds of the mean and stupid ignorant pricks that was the GW Bush Administration.

Simply infuriating!

"These military guys are my blood brothers"

Is that the thought that got Ted through his month long shit and piss in your pants tactic to dodge the draft when he was called to serve his country back in the sixties?

Nice that some of these right wing chicken hawks are so fucking compassionate about their country decades after they forfeited the right to risk their lives to serve it, huh?

The guitar solo from the Amboy Dukes Journey to the Center of the Mind is still one of the best of that era, in my opinion.

For the record - the draft ended in 1972, the year I was eligible. My parents would have helped me move to Canada had I been called. I would have lost my mind as much as the American state tortured Jose Padilla if I had served. I am simply too timid, fearful and gentle to emotionally cope with military life.
