Regarding the USPS fully funded pensions......

What other entities or corporations are required to fully fund their pension obligations seventy five years in advance?

Besides the Post Office?

I cannot comprehend any enterprise accumulating so much cash just to have it lay dormant for three quarters of a CENTURY?

To me "privatization" simply means corrupt crony capitalism and a handful of greedy sociopaths suddenly doubling the price of their goods or services simply because they can?

Gov't IS NOT A BUSINESS AND SHOULD NOT BE RUN LIKE ONE.

And I would not be surprised if the republics are currently fashioning legislation to make the U.S. Armed Forces become a PROFIT MAKING ENTERPRISE. Would be nice to "shock and awe" the Saudi Royal Family into turning over all their oil to the USA!

I vividly remember the propaganda being catapulted by GWB and Rummy and all those other PNAC imbeciles. I discovered DU during the Bush v. Gore unconstitutional tragedy and my bristling over republic corruption and lies following 9-11, when Cheney said we have to get those bastards that did this to us. I remember the good reporting links on DU at the time and the great Keith Olbermann's fearless journalism.

I also remember Chris as a cheerleader for the Iraq invasion, swept up in the fervor and deceit of the GWB administration. The first year or two he was enthusiastic about it and supported it. I remember all the false and misleading propaganda and "Americans better watch what they say" and Cheney stove piping bullshit to Judith Miller and then he could speak openly about classified info because it had been published in the NY Times.

It was frightening to watch the break down of journalistic ethics pretty much across the spectrum of MSM. I knew we were sliding into an invasion based on lies and it was unstoppable, so why not get on the bandwagon and worry about consequences later?

The gullibility and lack of integrity and ethics confirmed to me IT CAN HAPPEN HERE. And that is made easier by the likes of Matthews in MSM. Won't get fooled again? Not quite, more like will get fooled again and again and again and again.

And the end result; America is literally a full blown DICTATORSHIP with a moronic psycho bitch from hell having finally wrecked the gift our Founding Fathers gave us.

Good riddance to him and his kind.

of his perfect conversation. To most of us, a transcript is an exact copy of what was said. Like what a stenographer would produce from a recording. This is a SUMMARY, not a transcript! Who the hell knows the exact content after being edited and censored by Barr and his other twisted pricks?

Americans have A RIGHT to listen to the original recording. This transcript is very well executed MISINFORMATION!

Didn't Roger Stone have a hand in this plot?

The right wing hit squad did their job brilliantly. They got other Democratic pols to witch hunt Al into resignation, taking out ONE OF THE MOST BRILLIANT DEMOCRATIC MINDS we had in D.C.!

It was infuriating because, as an average loyal DU reader, DU provided me with enough links to determine the entire plot was based on BULLSHIT. And I had to watch Senate Dems obediently follow the path set forth by republic dirty tricksters, who are excellent at what they do and Dems naively take the bait......repeatedly.

I hope Al goes on to write editorials, do talk shows and be a talking head on the news show circuit. Chit chat with the Morning Joe Crew and Rachel kind of stuff.

I don't like supporting good Dems that stupidly kangaroo court one of our best out of the Senate. They got totally p'owned.

My hero since the Oct 16, 1971 Stony Brook late show.

to put it succinctly, I liked his values as much as his music. Learned a lot, enhanced my critical thinking skills. An inspirational national treasure that took a stand against conservatives and televangilists aggressively in his lifetime and art. There were times in his life where his raw courage and absolute faith in his principles and basic intelligence were awe inspiring to me.

Ironies: The snowball that triggered the smears about Franken was engineered in some of not most parts, by Roger Stone. I have to research how many other Atwateresque ratfucking plots Rogers been a part of since his involvement with Nixon Republicans in Nixon's time? Ratfucking is his life's work. If there were justice he'd be pay per view Khashoggi-ed.

If my memory is accurate, Al's questioning of Jeff Sessions about something I forgot, caused Sessions to recuse himself from the Russia Investigations. Where would Democracy be right now if that had not happened?

The witch hunt railroading he was victim of is ugly and a great example of, from the vantage of recent history, a really fucking STUPID thing to do! What the hell did Dems gain by having done this? Was justice well served? In my own unwise youth, I've done much worse, relatively. Al's life is testimony to his honorable family man, of the people, serve the best interests of as many people as possible upstanding citizen would make a responsible babysitter you could feel safe leaving your kids with kinda guy.

I've liked Al since Franken and Davis SNL days. Got some of his books, donated to his Senate Campaign. Overjoyed and inspired by his performance in the Senate.

Articles like this could change the course of history for the better yet again. Americans need to know just how cruel and inhuman these Trump monsters really are!
