To paraphrase the never great Condi Rice

If he killed somebody else, then maybe we could do something?

This drama is a reworked Police Squad episode.

My always changing and revising opinion based on the dribbles and smatters of evidential slime oozing out of our video is:

The killer grew up in a life of upper class privilege. This literally gave him a wallet full of get out of jail free passes, due to his daddy-the-judge.

Normalization of deviance* is one point of view about how this came to be. It's commonsensical, in this case. The kid got away with crime his entire life. He was trained to be above the law his entire life. Secondly, this kid escaped any societal quality control because anybody that shoots to kill another human being is almost automatically one utterly lacking in empathy and rational thought. A healthier society would have hopefully have found a way to prevent this man from killing people by the most humane means possible.

It's also galling that our two tiered justice system is running blown and on fuel for this guy by the local POWERS THAT BE obviously exploiting some cockamamie "run out the clock" law on a time limit to be charged with murder. 180 fucking days or something? I hope there's enough non-corrupt means left in American Justice to do what's right for this race based lynching.

I'm shopping this vid on DU because I think it can be used as a tool to better understand the entire cluster fuck of all our institutions being infested with corrupt sociopaths.

One Irony

In the end, it appears that Keith is a problem hire. No more or no less than any other of us worker bees out here coping with might-makes-right modern American Management.

His issues at work could be similar to issues I've always bridled at, simply the power your employer can chose to exercise over you.

I have something of an "inner Keith" myself that I've carried with me my entire work life. I have to do some failure analysis* on my career and figure out my unconscious self sabotage.

Keith has a beautiful mind and he owes it to our violated Democracy to get on the ball and tell the most Americans he can what he sees going on all around us and what we need to know to be an informed citizenry.

If he's great enough to be the bar none best broadcast journalist in a generation or two, then shirley he can brainiac his way to a high quality and stable soapbox.

* I'm into Quality as a discipline in manufacturing. I am still enamored of the principles of Dr. Deming about quality. The info in this vid I think contains PROFOUND KNOWLEDGE About the nature of people working as groups and the remarkable cluster fucks that can arise if you are not well educated in failure analysis, a form of the pursuit of quality.

I'm an Obama cynic

Mostly in the arena of unpunished Wall Street Bankster crimes.

And the entire treasonous GW Bush White House still walks free amongst us.

And there's still Goldman-Sachs alumni serving in the Obama White House, yes?

And the erosion of our Constitutional Rights, currently exemplified in the police state responses to the various Occupy Protests going on right now.

And cracking down on pot is on the wrong side of science and history in this day and age.....

So it has an aroma of giving us Progressives a bone to chew on for some hopey-changy stuff before the election.

.......On the one hand

On the other, it seems like a beautiful and magnificent appointment for a very important post. It seems to be doing what's right and just for humanity much more so than a political ploy. I like that a lot and hope more moves towards the Progressive-ism our nation needs to heal are in our near future.

The conservatives have been creating this unjust societal cluster fuck for at least the last thirty years. It's going to take the rest of us following a just and beautiful leader to restore the dreams of democracy our Founding Fathers envisioned.

This appointment is why I voted for our beautiful President four years ago. I am overjoyed to see such things.

You might be an activist

Posting my outrage on DU is pretty much ineffective preaching to the choir that I share with my peers in this liberal bubble.

So, I try to do other things to be an activist for PROGRESSIVE and ANTI-FASCIST causes. Like bumper stickers. I use bumper sticker sightings a a gauge for public awareness of our descent into "Gilded Age 2.0, this time it's with i-pads."

And my bumper stickers stand for what I believe and I just got a new Ford Ranger this past January (a left over 2011, with decent rebates and it's been discontinued, and it's got 4wd and a decent v6 and sirius and extended cab and elec windows and locks, and fog lites, BUT NO FUCKING CRUISE CONTROL! I didn't want 4wd, but the 2wd choices on the lot were too sterile and under gizmo'ed for me) My preceding Ranger was bought in 2003 and I plastered it with bumper stickers about stuff I feel strongly about - both "current events", Frank Zappa, and nitro cars. It was pretty caustic, as I felt what the GWB traitors were doing to our entire country was pretty caustic also.

I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THREATS OR VANDALISM in the entire EIGHT YEARS I has those stickers on, until they literally wore out.

It concerned my wife about getting into confrontations with people that did not share my views. Well, you know FUCK IT. I'm 57, I've got to do what I can and stand for something! Republicans, or conservatives, or LOW INFORMATION VOTERS may threaten me, but, screw it, I ain't going through any part of the rest of my life in fear of these ignorant dittoheads!

I regret that I have only one nicely finished deep blue metallic 2011 Ranger to give for my country!

And I hope to travel to an Occupy Protest or two this spring. ("I will love everyone. I will love the cops as they kick the shit out of me in the street." - lyrics to Flower Punk - FZ and the MOI, 1968) Probability speaking, the worst I can fear about doing such things is getting arrested for a long time w/o access to a bathroom with a lot of privacy! I don't like an audience when I pee!

I can also fear some gestapo-cop beating me and breaking bones or teeth. Or pepper spray. Or beanbag shot. Or rubber bullets. Or circulatory complications from the tie wraps they use for handcuffs these days. Or being herded into a free speech zone some distance from the intended protest.

Once again, our young people are fighting our wars. I can enlist to serve OWS simply by figuring out how to get the 100 miles to Wall Street and back home over a weekend. I have friends that know how to travel to and into NYC.

Lastly, I look for like minded bumper stickers, or even any at all, and MY guess, to pull stats out of thin air, that perhaps 1% of ALL CARS ON THE ROAD near me have any indication on their vehicles of any activism at all! I take that as things will get worse and the 1% has us in the Bottom 99% BY THE FUCKING BALLS. We're sheep getting the type of government we deserve!

As Zappa once said, with regard to his musical output and how he could do it; "First, don't stop. Second, keep going." This is a generational struggle and showing up in person for one or two protests ain't going to do it. I plan to remain active until they pry my bumper stickers from my cold dead hands!

My in-progress bumper sticker, that needs polish, is:

OUR INSTITUTIONS ARE INFESTED WITH GREEDY AND CORRUPT SOCIOPATHS

I need less words to appeal to LOW INFORMATION VOTERS, and this can be condensed to :

OUR INSTITUTIONS ARE INFESTED WITH SOCIOPATHS

But, this isn't as concise, as I suspect there's plenty of sociopaths out there that may not be greedy and corrupt.

Thanks Jack

We owe our patriotic young people a massive amount of our national soul.

We are so accustomed to perpetual war in such an Orwellian fashion. Why do our world leaders casually suggest a nuclear war to solve a problem? Do they have any fucking clue as to the magnitude of human suffering that would create?

All they do is give us more and more unnecessary stuff to live in fear about. Evil and stupid is a bad way to run the entirety of the worlds institutions and governments, son.

Could you all just make a better world and let us bottom 99% enjoy healthy happy and productive lives? Stop treating us like factory farmed cattle.

improving the quality of the above info

http://current.com/shows/countdown/videos/wayne-barrett-on-the-clear-channel-connection-between-mitt-romney-and-rush-limbaugh

A closely linked economic family that has financially supported (or invested) in Romney for ten or twenty or more years has big money in Clear Channel.

Talk about a vast right wing conspiracy!

Interesting factoids from Frank Zappa, the idol of my youth

&list=FLvAMxL4SlWgfED0S8ElcB5A&index=1&feature=plpp_video

Here's the money shot, to spare you all from completely wasting nine minutes of your lives on something you may not be interested in.

At about 8:45 in, Zappa is talking about his relationship with Vaclav Havel and the government of Czechoslovakia ".......I thought that it was unfortunate that a person such as President Havel should have to bear the company of somebody as stupid as Dan Quayle for even a few moments of his life."

I suggest starting at maybe 7:00 to get some context for the above. And I won't reveal the punch line until later, as this contains a lot of high level Washington insider intrigue of that era that Zappa got sucked into.

Lastly, at about 2:20 they show a snippet of Zoot Allures, as performed in "New York". It is actually from a performance I attended at Jones Beach, one of the more memorable Zappa shows I was fortunate to attend.

Used to see him at least once a year, back in the seventies, when he could fill up the hockey rinks. I was also fortunate enough to see him fill a hockey rink perhaps one last time at the Nassau Coliseum on his 1988 Tour.
Long Island is Zappa Country!

An additional Zappa irony for the A&E piece is that Peter Graves, the host, used to do B movies in the fifties. Zappa has a song from Roxy and Elsewhere called Cheepnis, about the hack production often seen in 50's movies. He describes a scene about the cheesy monster from "It Conquered the World", which included Peter Graves in the cast.

Talk about Conceptual Continuity!

DU love for the best Republican friend a liberal Democrat could ever have: Rick Santorum

Hey Rickie

In addition to that vile JFK, here’s some more lowlife scum from recent history that really make me projectile vomit. (My paint and drywall repair bills are in low four figures from so many high velocity horizontal trajectories)

Martin Luther King
Mahatma Gandhi
Mother Teresa
Nelson Mandela
Lech Walesa
Mikhail Gorbachev
Bobby Kennedy

Nothing but a bunch of College educated snobs, if you ask me!

It must have been hell for you to be raised by your post graduate degree elitist snobby mom. Betcha she got pretty good at cleaning up your gallons of puke around the house, which, as we both know, is really the only type of work women are suited for. Unless they’re busy giving birth like they’re supposed to.

Also, if you need to induce even more personal vomiting, you should simply google your own name.

-90% Jimmy

PS Do we have any DU snark emoticons? Do we have any emoticons at all? Sorry. Previous statement inoperative Found 'em

Back to JFK. Tweety closed yesterdays show going off on Santorum’s UNAMERICAN comments about JFK’s stunning separation of church and state campaign speech. PT-109 war hero, saved his shipmates, etc. Uhhhh, Chris, next time you should also mention his older brother Joe, who gave his life in the Service of his Country in WW2. Even thought that fact is probably just another finger down Santorum’s throat.

My wife told me about Rick's home schooling of his kids. She mentioned few seem to know that home schooling makes the students much less appealing for admission at most Colleges. (What school would accept a transcript from the kids own parents?) Rickie ain't raising no snobs, that's for sure. Whether they want to be or not!

About 90-percent

Gee - my profile info didn't migrate from the old DU I guess? The main thing - 90% refers to the maximum allowable percentage of nitromethane fuel permitted in modern NHRA Top Fuel and Funny cars. Which is what makes current "nostalgia nitro" so cool - you can still "tip the can" and run straight nitro, if you want to. I'm an aging northeast liberal with an overdeveloped justice gland.
