You can access the emoticons by going to this link and copying the corresponding code in your post.

What HTML code can I use?


How do I put an image in my post?
Copy the direct image URL into your post. No tags are required.

How do I post a YouTube or Vimeo video?
Just copy the YouTube or Vimeo page URL into the post. DU will automatically add the necessary code and embed the video when you post.

Where is my Journal from DU2?
Click on the "My Journal" link at the top right of the page to go to your DU3 Journal. On the right side of that page, there is a "Journal Archives" section, under which is a "Older Archives" link that will take you to your DU2 Journal.

How do I post a poll?
Polls are not yet functional, but are on the to-do list. See this thread for details.

Why can't I use a custom avatar?
This is coming soon, per Skinner. Example:

I want nothing to do with Facebook or Twitter! Can I remove the social media buttons?
Yes. Go to My Account (link in the top right of the page) and select "Remove" next to the "Social media tabs on threads" option.

Can I use an image in my signature line?
Yes. Just copy a direct image URL into your signature line (under "My Profile&quot . The height can't be more than 100 pixels.

How do I look up a specific profile on DU3?
1. Find the person's profile using DU2's Search by username function. Search for their username and open their profile.

2. In your browser's address bar, copy the numbers at the end of the URL:

3. Open this link - http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=profile&uid= - and then paste that number at the end in your browser's address bar:
