It's not about the paycheck...

Almost all of the republican ads running in Ohio saying they will create 12 million jobs all follow up wit the line "it's not about the paycheck"

I hear this in every congressional, senatorial and presidential ad for the republican candidate.

Code for, don't expect to get a livable wage?

That's what it sounds like.

Is the devistation from Sandy going to eclipse that from Katrina?

Is the devistation going to dwarf the devistation of previous storms?

We already know the response is far superior as is shown by the responses from republicans.

Edit to change title for clarity that I was asking about the devistation, not the overall disaster as Katrina disaster involved the poor response by bush and Co. This is not going to be part of the equation this time.

If romney seriously wanted to help storm victims, he would do this...

Open his home to people who are displaced, feed them and give them a warm place to sleep.

That his the furthest thing from what his form of compassion could demonstrate.

The Land of Opportunity - A man and his generator...

People in New York's Tribeca neighborhood, without power because of superstorm Sandy, wait for a chance to charge their mobile phones on an available generator setup on a sidewalk, Tuesday, Oct. 30. Sandy, the storm that made landfall Monday, caused multiple fatalities, halted mass transit and cut power to more than 6 million homes and businesses.

The Romneybots are rabbid

I talked to my 89 year old dad last night. Wanted to talk to him in the event Sandy took our power for several days. H lives in Iowa and is a life long Democrat and retired AFL-CIO member.

He was all excited because the local football team was one win away from the championship. But then he went on about a phone call he had received a few days before. It was from my youngest brother who has become the most extreme right wing wackjob.

My dad was upset about this phone call because my brother was harrasing him about his vote and his religion. Dad told me that he was going to hell according to my brother because he is voting for Obama and is Catholic.

Now first of all, we were raised Catholic and now my brother is ridiculing it like it is a cult or something, this really made my dad angry.

Second, my brother knows well where my parents always stood politically, my mother always worked for one campaign or another, we always had big parties in the back yard with some big name Democrats of the day attending. And with dad being in a union, he knew where to put his support.

So my brother is so rabid, that he calls his father and harassed him over his vote. He made the mistake of telling my dad that Romney was like Reagan. I am sure dad went ballistic on that one, it was during the Reagan's union busting that my father was forced to retire early.

Dad indicated that this was not the first such call from my brother. What is wrong with someone who can't accept that their own father has different views than they do?

I don't even talk with my brother any more because he is so radical.

Cars have been honking as they pass my house all day

I live on a busy street leading into mcmansionville with several estate homes dotting the neighborhood. I have signs for several Democratic candidates, Obama, Sherrod Brown state and county candidates plus one supporting Issue 2 here in Ohio.

I can't say for certain, but have been wondering, if all the honking is in support for Democrats, Obama, Brown or Issue 2.

Issue 2 is a referendum to have an independent council form congressional district called for after the lousy job the republican lawmakers did.
