Georgia attack ad that sounds like a Sarah McLachlan ASPCA ad

It is sickening how low these republicans in Georgia will go. An ad attacking the Democrats to Silent Night. I keep expecting Sarah McLachlan to voice over asking for money to save the republican party.

Perdue, Loeffler Outraised by Ossoff, Warnock in Georgia Runoffs

In Georgia's Senate runoff race, both Republican incumbents, David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler have been outraised by their Democratic challengers, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, according to reports.

In one of the state's runoff elections, Ossoff raised $106.8 million, according to Bloomberg, which cited his campaign's latest filing with the Federal Elections Commission, during the period from October 15 to December 16. According to multiple reports, Ossoff ended the period with 17.5 million in the bank and spent $93.5 million.

In comparison, Ossoff's opponent, Perdue, raised $68.1 million and ended the filing period with $16 million cash on hand, according to Bloomberg.

Heavily Armed Far-Right Mob Floods Oregon Capitol

SALEM, Or.—A group of about 300 demonstrators attempted to force their way into two separate entrances of the Oregon State Capitol on Monday, outraged lawmakers were holding a special session closed to the public.

The crowd was a loose collection of members of the Proud Boys, Patriot Prayer and other far-right groups, many of them are armed with pistols and rifles. At one point during the demonstration, which began around 9 a.m., a woman tried to climb in a window on the west side of the government building. Oregon State Troopers, however, repelled her—before two more troopers showed up to insist that she get off the ledge.

China's Chang'e 5 moon lander is no more after successfully snagging lunar rocks

China's Chang'e 5 lander touched down on the moon and collected the first lunar samples in nearly 50 years, but now the lights have gone out.

However, it appears the spacecraft has already ceased working. Reports indicate that the lander was damaged when it acted as a launch pad for the mission's ascent vehicle to blast off from to reach low lunar orbit on Dec. 3.

Presidents in our lifetime

“In my life, I have watched John Kennedy talk on television about missiles in Cuba. I saw Lyndon Johnson look Richard Russell squarely in the eye and and say, "And we shall overcome." I saw Richard Nixon resign and Gerald Ford tell the Congress that our long national nightmare was over. I saw Jimmy Carter talk about malaise and Ronald Reagan talk about a shining city on a hill. I saw George H.W. Bush deliver the eulogy for the Soviet bloc, and Bill Clinton comfort the survivors of Timothy McVeigh's madness in Oklahoma City. I saw George W. Bush struggle to make sense of it all on September 11, 2001, and I saw Barack Obama sing 'Amazing Grace' in the wounded sanctuary of Mother Emanuel Church in Charleston, South Carolina.

"These were the presidents of my lifetime. These were not perfect men. They were not perfect presidents, god knows. Not one of them was that. But they approached the job, and they took to the podium, with all the gravitas they could muster as appropriate to the job. They tried, at least, to reach for something in the presidency that was beyond their grasp as ordinary human beings. They were not all ennobled by the attempt, but they tried nonetheless.

"And comes now this hopeless, vicious buffoon, and the audience of equally hopeless and vicious buffoons who laughed and cheered when he made sport of a woman whose lasting memory of the trauma she suffered is the laughter of the perpetrators. Now he comes, a man swathed in scandal, with no interest beyond what he can put in his pocket and what he can put over on a universe of suckers, and he does something like this while occupying an office that we gave him, and while endowed with a public trust that he dishonors every day he wakes up in the White House.

"The scion of a multigenerational criminal enterprise, the parameters of which we are only now beginning to comprehend. A vessel for all the worst elements of the American condition. And a cheap, soulless bully besides. We never have had such a cheap counterfeit of a president* as currently occupies the office. We never have had a president* so completely deserving of scorn and yet so small in the office that it almost seems a waste of time and energy to summon up the requisite contempt.

"Watch how a republic dies in the empty eyes of an empty man who feels nothing but his own imaginary greatness, and who cannot find in himself the decency simply to shut up even when it is in his best interest to do so. Presidents don't have to be heroes to be good presidents. They just have to realize that their humanity is our common humanity, and that their political commonwealth is our political commonwealth, too. Watch him behind the seal of the President of the United States. Isn't he a funny man? Isn't what happened to that lady hilarious? Watch the assembled morons cheer. This is the only story now."

Georgia Senate Runnoff observations

I live in South Carolina and our news feed all comes from Georgia. We are close to Savannah.

The ads on TV are contrasted by light and dark. The two republicans in the contest are all negative all the time. Not once do you hear about their aspirations of what they want to do in the Senate, just attack after attack on their opponents. This

On the Democratic side, they are mostly positive, mostly talking about whet they want to accomplish when elected and mostly positive messages.

Come to thanksgiving and both Ossoff and Warnock had messages of thankfulness and what thanksgiving means to them. From the right nothing but attacks.

And I repeated use of the word radical. I wonder what the record for use of one word in 60 seconds is, because these commercials could compete

Edit to add: and California is invading Georgia

The ads for these trump loving republicans in Georgia have worn out the worth "radical"

There must be a limit on the number of times you can use a word.

The radicals radical?

Difference between republican and Democratic candidates in Georgia runnoff is positive vs. negative

Ads for the Democratic candidates talk about what they want to do. The republicans attack the Democrat, the radical democrats.

Trump Team Holds News Conference Outside Drab Landscaping Firm, Next to Adult Book Store

Trump Team Holds News Conference Outside Drab Landscaping Firm, Next to Adult Book Store

On Saturday morning, shortly before the AP and other news outlets called the election for Joe Biden, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to announce that his lawyers would be holding a “big press conference” in Philadelphia. But there seems to have been some major confusion about where it would be held. First Trump tweeted it would take place at the “Four Seasons, Philadelphia.” Trump later corrected himself and said that the news conference was going to be held at the Four Seasons Total Landscaping. And the Four Seasons Hotel sent out its own tweet, making sure everyone knew that the news conference would not be held there but rather at the landscaping business that has “no relation with the hotel.”

When journalists arrived at the site of the news conference, they were flabbergasted by the scene and many quickly speculated that someone in the Trump campaign made a serious mistake. After all, the parking lot of a landscaping business in the outskirts of the city in an industrial part of town was a drab backdrop for a news conference by a president who wanted to convince Americans he still had a chance of winning. And making matters even stranger, the landscaping business was between an adult bookstore and a cremation center. The location led to lots of mockery online, and many people were very happy with the scene that was ripe for mockery, and some saw as a poignant metaphor of the failure of the Trump campaign.
