2020 Trevor Bowl Final Score
The almost-MIGHTY NY Jets managed a solid loss yesterday (28-14 against the Patriots), but, in the end, they LOST the Trevor Bowl to the seriously-MIGHTY Jacksonville Jaguars who finished the season 1-15 with an equally-impressive 28-14 loss to the Colts.
Enormous credit is due to the Jets for doing their absolute best to lose each and every game they played. Throughout the entire season, the Jets achieved only 243 points on offense (lowest in the league). In the end, that wasn’t enough. The Trevor Bowl-winning Jags put up 306 points on offense but won the contest due to the efforts of their amazingly pathetic defense which allowed 492 points compared to the Jets’ 457.
Congratulations to the Jaguars! Big money says that they will pick Lawrence.
Sorry, Jets fans.

Season Notes:
Best defense over the regular season: LA Rams with only 296 points allowed. The Ravens came in second with 303 points allowed.
Best offense over the regular season: GB Packers with 509 points scored. The Bills came in second with 501 points scored.
Pisses me off: My ATL Falcons scored 396 points on offense and allowed 414 points. That’s a difference of 18 points, yet the Falcons finish the season with a 4-12 record. We had several, close, heartbreaking losses this year. The team is obviously better than its record demonstrates.
How did the WaPo get a recording of the conversation between Trump and Raffensperger?
Easy answer—Georgia law. In Georgia, you must assume that any phone conversation you have is being recorded by the person to whom you are speaking. A third party can not legally record a conversation between two people who are unaware that they are being recorded, but the actual parties to the conversation have every right to record (and subsequently publish) their own conversations (with or without the permission of the person to whom they are speaking).
In this case, it is almost certain that Raffensberger recorded the conversation (without Trump’s permission) and then published it via The Washington Post. This is entirely legal under Georgia law, and, while I expect that Trump’s knickers are in a twist about it, there’s nothing that he can do.
Note that the laws on recording phone conversations vary widely by state.

Courts may dismiss cases on a wide number of bases, but “failure to state a claim upon which relief can be granted” is the equivalent of “GET OUT OF MY FACE WITH THIS BULLSHIT!”
It’s the equivalent of, “You haven’t been hurt, Plaintiff, so go away. Unless you can show that you have been hurt, the Court can’t grant you relief. Got it?”
It’s also, “Who filed this damn lawsuit? I am tempted to hold that attorney in contempt for frivolous litigation.”

Understand this--for many people with COVID-19 there is no "recovery."
I know two long-termers, both of them infected in March of 2020, and neither of them has “recovered” in any real sense of the word. Both have obvious and persistent blood clots that are visible in their lower legs and feet. Both have puffy, watery eyes that affect their vision, constantly. Both have weakened hearts—like an elephant sitting on your chest if you try to walk 100 yards, briskly. Both struggle to breathe from time to time. Both have persistent pneumonia-like symptoms. They also continue to suffer with massive inflammation of their internal organs.
This is a badass virus, and many, MANY people will NEVER “recover” from it.

The record the Democratic Party has made in the last 20 years is the greatest political asset any party ever had in the history of the world. We would be foolish to throw it away. There is nothing our enemies would like better and nothing that would do more to help them win an election.
I've seen it happen time after time. When the Democratic candidate allows himself to be put on the defensive and starts apologizing for the New Deal and the fair Deal, and says he really doesn't believe in them, he is sure to lose. The people don't want a phony Democrat. If it's a choice between a genuine Republican, and a Republican in Democratic clothing, the people will choose the genuine article, every time; that is, they will take a Republican before they will a phony Democrat, and I don't want any phony Democratic candidates in this campaign.
But when a Democratic candidate goes out and explains what the New Deal and fair Deal really are--when he stands up ... and puts the issues before the people--then Democrats can win, even in places where they have never won before. It has been proven time and again.

Ron Klain will be Biden's Chief of Staff.
Choosing Klain reflects Biden’s plan to move beyond that chaos-driven presidency, and the internal White House structure probably will revert to form with a single manager in charge surrounded by a series of senior officials who also have direct relationships with the president. Many in Biden’s orbit have long seen Klain as the most obvious pick for chief of staff after more than 30 years of background roles. After a falling out with Biden’s team when he offered early support to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential bid, Klain has worked his way back into the upper echelons of Biden’s trusted circle.
He consulted with Biden on general strategy even before the former vice president announced his presidential campaign last year, and since August he has served as an unpaid senior adviser to the campaign and led Biden’s extensive debate preparation.
