Jim Webb plans on running to the left of HRC for the 2016 nomination

"Jim Webb, former senator from Va., takes on his party’s hawks. And maybe Clinton."

SNIP

Still, as the national debate turns increasingly toward questions of U.S. military involvement abroad, Webb — a Vietnam veteran who has carved out a profile as an antiwar warrior — may be uniquely positioned as a disruptive force on issues where many Democrats consider Clinton compromised.

“Remember, one of the reasons Obama did so well in Iowa was because he said he would end the wars,” said Marcos Rubinstein, who directed antiwar Democrat Dennis Kucinich’s 2008 presidential campaign in Iowa. “That is why he was able to beat Clinton, and Iowa remains full of Democrats who are looking for a peaceful message.”

In a race against Clinton, the party’s ultimate insider, Webb, 68, would be an acerbic iconoclast who would avoid the ways of modern presidential politics. As a lawmaker, he refused to raise money in the traditional fashion, and he declined the social invitations and cable-news bookings that have come to define the daily routine for many of his former colleagues.

White House intruder was tackled by off-duty Secret Service agent

Source: Washington Post

The man who jumped over the White House fence and sprinted through the main floor of the mansion could have gotten even farther had it not been for an off-duty Secret Service agent who was coincidentally in the house and leaving for the night.

The agent who finally tackled Omar Gonzalez had been serving on the security detail for President Obama’s daughters and had just seen the family depart via helicopter minutes earlier. He happened to be walking through the house when chaos broke out and the intruder dashed through the main foyer, according to two people familiar with the incident.

Gonzalez, 42, was the first person in modern memory to jump over the White House fence and get into the mansion, largely the result of a failure of numerous layers of Secret Service security on the northern fence line.

Though the Secret Service initially said that Gonzalez was quickly detained inside the front door, The Washington Post reported Monday that the man actually made it well into the house before he was tackled on the far southern side of the 80-foot-long East Room. Once he burst inside the unlocked front door, Gonzalez, a former Army veteran, overpowered one Secret Service officer and, on his journey, sprinted past a stairway that leads up half a flight to the first family’s living quarters.

Democratic Fundraising email

I snipped out the fundraising parts since most people get this stuff already and everyone here knows how to donate if they so desire/have the ability to. Posting this since it flies in the face of the doom, gloom, and ratfucking that happens here to suppress the vote. Democrats are ahead across the country and are increasing in numbers. In a few weeks pundits will acknowledge a Democrat tide is coming. No better time than now to get out the vote for 2014.

FSogol --

The Koch Brothers are going to be SHELL-SHOCKED when they see this! New numbers just came in showing Democratic turnout SURGING in MORE KEY SWING STATES!

State: Dem % GOP % 2014 Advantage: Change vs. 2010:
Iowa 52.4% 27.0% D+25% D+19%
North Carolina 41.5% 34.9% D+7% D+17%
Maine 56.6% 18.1% D+39% D+36%

Not only are we absolutely CRUSHING the numbers from 2010 in these states, but in some of our top battleground districts, Democrats are actually doing BETTER THAN 2008 OR 2012!

WE WILL WIN if Democrats keep up the pressure in the field and keep growing this advantage. But we need you to chip in $10 now to meet tomorrow’s deadline and unlock matching funds for the DLCC’s Grassroots Victory Program:

Which side do you wish would win in the Scottish election?

For me: Scottish Freedom and a big thumb in the eye of Right-wing British Politics.

See my other poll for you do you think will win:

Which side will win in Scotland?

The Polls in Scotland close at 10 pm (5 pm EST), but we probably won't know until tomorrow.

My personal opinion is that the No side will barely win. I think this will happen because many people are scared of change.
