This sounds like when the impeachment conviction "NO VOTE" die was cast

McConnell was either creating his own out for a no vote...or creating an out for others. Or both!

Jeez, the MF got away with it again!

We can, rightly so, blame Republicans

We can, rightly so, praise our team.

But bottom line, he got away with it again

Preet, on CNN, said it was doubtful that anyone would take him to court over the insurrection. He said they would think if they couldn't win with facts and political persuasion (impeachment) then it was doomed in a strictly legal venue.

Pelosi pretty much quashed the idea of trying to censure and include a provision where he would never run again. For now anyway.

So in a way I'm a little bit relieved. There was never any justice for the fact that this devil kept the virus information from us. He knew it was airborne and deadly and my dad would be alive today if he hadn't done that.

Bottom line it's time to forget about him for our own sanity. He is definitely sullied and I don't think he'll ever win a major election again so that's a plus. But I can't let my hatred for him consume me anymore. It's time (for me anyway) for him to just go away and get out of our lives.

Tonight in DC: Kitchen table talks vs. $10k sofa talks

" We will be ok! Thankfully President Biden is helping us bridge this gap financially. We have to move on, for our own sanity, from the circumstances of your mom's death. WE thought her going to a nursing home was OK...because trump and others did not warn us, and it wasn't but there is no answer to that"

and

"Are you willing to give up this cushy life in DC? This Georgetown life style? Our friends? And go back to Mississippi? because I think he's guilty as hell! I know, I said the whole thing was unconstitutional... But I am having a pang of doubt. "

Ha... Can't believe a Republican Senator said this !!

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/538565-even-with-acquittal-gop-sees-trial-ending-trumps-shot-at-future-office

Interspersed with the traumatic scenes were clips of Trump urging his supporters to march to the Capitol, warning them “if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore,” and telling them “we love you; you’re very special,” shortly after the attack.

“It just makes you realize what an asshole Donald Trump is," said one GOP senator after watching day two of the House managers' presentation.

The lawmaker suggested that Democrats may ultimately help the GOP by sidelining Trump.

Article's premise is that trump was damaged from impeachment regardless of verdict and likely couldn't ever win again.

I am sure Dem impeachment team wanted but couldn't get

1. All the details on who led/authorized the January 5th tour of Capitol? Or was this tangential to trump?

2. Why wasn't National Guard deployed before insurrection?

Donald Trump's third impeachment lawyer Michael van der Veen 'called him a f***ing crook' and sued him last year arguing the president was trying to suppress mail-in voting

By Harriet Alexander For Dailymail.com

Michael van der Veen, 57, was one of three lawyers drafted a week ago to represent Trump in his trial, and on Monday signed Trump's response to the House article of impeachment, alongside Bruce Castor and David Schoen.

A timeline: The insurrection at the Capitol

On Jan. 6, 2021 the U.S Capitol was breached for the first time since 1812. Here are the most pivotal moments of one of the darkest days in American history. BY TREVIN SMITH

WASHINGTON
House and Senate Democrats may push ahead this week with a censure resolution to bar former President Donald Trump from holding future office over his role in the U.S. Capitol riot, anticipating acquittal in the Senate impeachment trial, several sources familiar with the matter told McClatchy.

The effort to draft the resolution that would invoke a provision of the 14th Amendment began quietly in January and gained momentum over the weekend, as Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia and Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine gauge whether the measure could attract bipartisan support.

The reception has been lukewarm so far from Democrats, who would prefer to see the former president convicted in the impeachment trial, and from Republicans, who fear political consequences in barring Trump from office.

Anyone know about pussywillows? A mystical plant... And my

sister sent me a grafted tree (from Canada to TX) just out of the blue because she knows I have always loved them. Reminds me of the northeast in spring.

Directions say don't plant til after frost danger.

But the blooms look crazy to me. Like a fail??? Have never seen irratic
blooms like this...

Rep Stephen Lynch D-MA must be the unluckiest guy in the world

Gets Covid 9 days after second Pfizer vaccination. And he practiced social distancing and wore a mask.

Articles about his timeline may be like one of those math problems that can't be solved because data is missing, but that's what I got out of it.

My SIL who manages drug trials said that her only guess was that he had the virus before his nine day window was up, but not enough to show a positive.
