The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will reimburse up to $2 billion in costs for coronavirus funerals, said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who pushed for the funding as part of the federal COVID-19 relief package.

Proving Trump was in on the Jan 6th plan?

Things that make you go hmmmmm:

1. CNN clip: "We're going to walk down to the Capitol and I'll be right there with you."

Was obviously a blatant lie and he had no intention of marching with them. Why?

And if he was that concerned about the count at the Capitol why didn't he set up his rally on the other end of the Mall?

2. Who was ultimately responsible for leaving Capitol police alone?

Whoever is in charge of Biden's inauguration.. Kudos!!!

Literally the most creative, wonderful thing in so very long.

I thought Biden would be holed up. But what a pure genius idea. There will be 200k flags set up to represent the people not there. And displays for each state and territory!!

Brilliant!

Think Biden should have a real inauguration like J 2022?

One time Trump Dr. Bornstein dead at 73

https://www.showbiz411.com/2021/01/14/exclusive-harold-bornstein-eccentric-doctor-who-said-trump-was-in-excellent-shape-dead-at-age-73

I am gobsmacked. Harold was my doctor in the 80s and early 90s. His father, the late Dr. Jacob Bornstein, was the cousin of a friend of mine. Harold, who loved dispensing medication over the phone, never mentioned that Trump was his patient. But when Trump became president– and his health was questioned– Harold, looking more eccentric than ever, chimed in.

He wrote a letter stating: “If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.” (The letter is below.)

He later told CNN: “He dictated that whole letter. I didn’t write that letter. I just made it up as I went along.”

Around that time, in 2017, Harold claimed his office had been raided by Trump via a bodyguard. Trump lawyer, and long time associate. It was prompted by an article in the New York Times in which Bornstein said the president takes a prostate-related drug to treat baldness, known as Propecia, as well as other “antibiotics to control rosacea, a common skin problem, and a statin for elevated blood cholesterol and lipids.”

Trump was obviously furious, and that was the end of his relationship with Harold. His obit doesn’t say what he died from, but like everything else touched by Trump, Harold was marked for doom. What a shame. Harold told NBC: “I feel raped — that’s how I feel. Raped, frightened, and sad. I couldn’t believe anybody was making a big deal out of a drug to grow his hair that seemed to be so important. And it certainly is not a breach of medical trust to tell somebody they take Propecia to grow their hair. What’s the matter with that?”

The Harold Bornstein I knew had a great sense of humor. Maybe he wasn’t the best doctor, but he was competent and helpful. He was eccentric, certainly, the opposite of his father, who was a straight shooter. It’s a shame that he got scooped up in the Trump tsunami of lies. The public will only think of him as Trump’s crazy doctor, but I have mostly fond memories of him. RIP Harold. Condolences to family, friends, and patients.

Trump approval craters to 34%

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.politico.com/amp/news/2021/01/13/trump-approval-rating-poll-458602

Tarnished by last week’s riot at the Capitol, Donald Trump is ending his presidency with his lowest-ever poll numbers.

A new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll pegs Trump’s approval at just 34 percent, the lowest in four years of tracking opinions of the president’s job performance. More than six in 10 voters — 63 percent — disapprove.

Did anyone see Phil Mudd on CNN? Have never seen such

a transformation between bright and eager and positive guy and tonight?

He was the epitome of sad and solemn.

Phil was FBI station chief in DC? Correct me if I am wrong.

Flashback to Kavenaugh hearings. On CNN, once the Republicans duped us and said they would advance FBI investigations a week and we lapped it up... "Yes please sir"... Mudd was against it..not enough time!. By the afternoon, he was saying... Bring it on... FBI is on board. He said no problem, they would drive her all over until she recognized a house. They are up to job!

Back to today. Either he had personal issues or he is extremely worried about our near future? Scared me.

'Trump said I could': One possible legal defense for accused rioters

Federal agents spent the weekend arresting people around the nation who were allegedly part of the mob that stormed the Capitol on Wednesday after President Donald Trump urged a crowd to "fight like hell" to overturn the election results. But many of those charged with crimes for their alleged roles in the riot can thus plausibly raise what is known as the "public authority" defense - arguing, essentially, that Trump gave them permission to do what they did.

Here's how it works. Suppose the chief of police in a town told you that you could ignore a "no parking" sign and park in an otherwise forbidden place. Suppose also that you relied on his word and parked in that place. Then, later, suppose a police officer handed you a parking ticket.

You'd have a defense. Specifically, you could point your finger at the authority figure who invited you to commit the illegal act. The spotlight then turns to the authority figure: Did the chief of police have the authority to waive the parking restriction? If not, was it reasonable for you to believe that he did? Did you have reason to know that you shouldn't park there, even if he told you that you should?

Each day, more evidence emerges that Trump and other elected officials instigated this riot. The rioters were lured to Washington with Trump's promise that the day would "be wild." At the rally, Rudy Giuliani - Trump's lawyer and close adviser - called for "trial by combat." Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., told the crowd to "take names and kick ass." Trump told the crowd, "When you catch somebody in a fraud, you're allowed to go by very different rules."
