There is no such thing and the only people who push the term are republicans and people trying to smear Bernie. They talk about opposing "free college", but what they mean is they oppose free tuition for you. See, the colleges give free tuition to some elites-for instance high SAT scorers and top academic students and there is an easy argument that they most deserve a free education. But another group-elite athletes also get a free ride. Now you can argue that in fact it is they being used but ain't nobody will claim an all-american running back was spotted dropping off tuition checks...The rich and political elite-their offspring may actually be paid for but they are often slipped into legacy slots ahead of better students of lesser means...
So far this can all be dismissed as socialist whining, right? The college decides who gets scholarships and accepts cash from others to balance the books and life goes on, one more day in our great democracy...
Until you consider this-it ain't just tuition that balances the books-each and every year those schools get a minimum of 150 billion in socialistic, non-free market dollars poured in from federal and state governments. What has really been built is a large public school system that routinely charges only average middle class students tuition!!
And that is where the spin comes in. There is not a campus in this country that is a thing more than K-12 writ large. In a country that admits that an associates degree is an absolute bare minimum requirement to demonstrate entry level competence to jobs, anything LESS than a "Free" college education becomes one more subsidy to employers. Or failing that stop the 150 billion to colleges and distribute it to those previously priced out of the market and doomed to lower value lives by oligarchs more than willing to leave some behind. And the elite can go to the "colleges" that will exist without that funding.
There's my argument-public colleges and universities are just one more part of public education, both payed for and owed to all. Will it cost more when all are given the same benefits we bestow on the elites-yes. But either we are a democracy or not. Bernie isn't offering free college-he is endorsing full public education.

Problem-and you can ask the real combat vets here-his DD-214 shows he was Infantry but never received a combat infantry badge (CIB). That badge is what you get for being shot at and he wasn't. But being a Palin I could think of a few other things that might "harden" him...

I, too, love funny stuff a lot. You know what I remember that was funny-that time back in '78 when Hillary-then the first lady of Arkansas invested $1000 in cattle futures and made a $99,000 profit in 10 months with the "assistance" of two "friends" with ties to Tyson Chicken one of whom was investigated and issued a three-year suspension from trading and a $250,000 fine (at the time, the largest such penalty imposed by the exchange). Then she dabbled in sugar and made $6500 she "forgot" and when that came to light she paid taxes interest and penalties of $14,600.
Anyhow that was funny as shit! But the real hysterical part was this- In a Fall 1994 paper for the Journal of Economics and Finance, economists from the University of North Florida and Auburn University investigated the odds of gaining a hundred-fold return in the cattle futures market during the period in question. Using a model that was stated to give the hypothetical investor the benefit of the doubt, they concluded that the odds of such a return happening were at best 1 in 31 trillion.

For the last few days I've been looking into whether or not the militia could be read the riot act and whether military troops could be used to end the stand off. Most legal items refer back to common law but thanks to moves regarding handling terrorism I found this:
The Insurrection Act of 1807 is the set of laws that govern the ability of the President of the United States to deploy troops within the United States to put down lawlessness, insurrection and rebellion. The laws are chiefly contained in 10 U.S.C. §§ 331–335. The general aim is to limit Presidential power as much as possible, relying on state and local governments for initial response in the event of insurrection. Coupled with the Posse Comitatus Act, Presidential powers for law enforcement are limited and delayed.
On September 30, 2006, the Congress modified the Insurrection Act as part of the 2007 Defense Authorization Bill (repealed as of 2008). Section 1076 of the law changed Sec. 333 of the "Insurrection Act," and widened the President's ability to deploy troops within the United States to enforce the laws. Under this act, the President may also deploy troops as a police force during a natural disaster, epidemic, serious public health emergency, terrorist attack, or other condition, when the President determines that the authorities of the state are incapable of maintaining public order. The bill also modified Sec. 334 of the Insurrection Act, giving the President authority to order the dispersal of either insurgents or "those obstructing the enforcement of the laws." The law changed the name of the chapter from "Insurrection" to "Enforcement of the Laws to Restore Public Order."
