Amid Battle For Hispanic Votes—And Florida—Trump Announces $13 Billion Aid Plan For Puerto Rico

Updated Sep 19, 2020, 02:09pm EDT
TOPLINE Amid a heated battle for Hispanic votes in Florida between President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, the administration announced Friday it would grant $13 billion in aid to help rebuild Puerto Rico, a major reversal for Trump, who has shown literal interest in helping the U.S. territory.

Trump about 20 minutes ago

"People from North Carolina helped to dig the Panama Canal."

That was not long after he said that he was nominated for 2 nobel prizes in the past 10 days.

I only watched a total of 10 minutes of Fox.

There is no such thing as an unsolicited ballot (in Ohio @ least)

There is no such thing as unsolicited ballots because to get a ballot you have to
be a registered voter and request a ballot be sent to you.

Trump Attacks FBI Director Christopher Wray for Warning on Russian Election Meddling

"President Donald Trump attacked his own FBI director Thursday in a series of vitriolic tweets. Christopher Wray had testified Thursday morning before the House Committee on Homeland Security about “very active efforts” by Russia to influence the 2020 U.S. election and “to both sow divisiveness and discord and...to denigrate Vice President Biden.” Trump, who has long contested his own intelligence agencies’ conclusions about Russian election meddling, wrote in response, “But Chris, you don’t see any activity from China, even though it is a FAR greater threat than Russia, Russia, Russia. They will both, plus others, be able to interfere in our 2020 Election with our totally vulnerable Unsolicited (Counterfeit?) Ballot Scam.” He cited no evidence for his claims about China or voting by mail. In another tweet, he wrote of the FBI’s investigation of domestic terrorism, “The Comey/Mueller inspired FBI is simply unable, or unwilling, to find their funding source, and allows them to get away with ‘murder.’”

Opinion: Big Ten's decision to play football signals darkest day in conference's sports history

USA Today: Opinion: Big Ten's decision to play football signals darkest day in conference's sports history

As proof, one only had to look at the conference’s prudent August decision to shut down fall sports in the midst of the global pandemic. It was only natural that the Big Ten would follow the Ivy League, and that the Pac-12 would follow the Big Ten. It was a tough decision, heartbreaking and costly, but it was the right one.

That’s the Big Ten for you, concerned about science, medicine and safety. Let the football factories of the SEC, Big 12 and ACC (Clemson’s playground) continue playing; the Big Ten was doing the right thing looking out for its student-athletes, treating them almost no differently than the student body at large, and that was all that mattered.

snip

Then came Wednesday, the darkest day in Big Ten sports history, the day the vaunted conference caved. It choked. It got scared. It became the SEC.

Just as the Big Ten was looking smarter by the day as COVID-19 outbreaks popped up at Michigan State, Wisconsin and Maryland while other conferences playing football announced COVID-related postponements and soaring cases, the league’s presidents reversed themselves and decided to steer their schools and their football programs right into the teeth of what are predicted to be some of the worst days of the pandemic in October and November.

And how are they doing it? With a mountain of daily antigen tests, special delivery for Big Ten football teams only. Rapid tests for football players, but apparently not for the elderly in Ann Arbor or Columbus or Evanston, or for school children and teachers in Bloomington or New Brunswick or Minneapolis, or for students paying for their education amid the outbreaks in East Lansing or Madison or College Park

Trump, "Churchill stood on top of buildings as bombs were falling."

'When Churchill was on the top of a building, and he said everything’s going to be good, everything’s going to be – be calm, and you have the Nazis dropping bombs all over London, he was very brave because he was at the top of a building,' Trump told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos.

**********

Yes, Churchill stayed in London during the Blitz but during the air raids he went down into his War Room which
was a bunker not far from 10 Downing St.. The British had radar and when they saw nazi planes coming they
sounded the warning, scrambled the RAF, the people of England went underground (the tube in London),
and Churchill went to his bunker. This is in all the history books and if you go to London you can visit Churchill's
"War Room."

Good God! All those poor refugee women that were sterilized against their wishes and then those ...

.... poor people were deported.

Why do I smell Steven Miller all over this horror? That is what the Nazis did. And don't tell me that Trump and Barr were
unaware of what was going on. People need to be in jail for that shit. And now where are all of Trump's "pro-life"
Evangelical supporters?

OK you pro life evangelical Trump voters are you OK w/the unnecessary hysterectomies?

I was wondering if this torture and the taking away of a women's right to have a baby
might peel @ least 2.5 to 5% of those funds pro lifers? Or are all of them hypocrites?

Hello Lincoln Project do you want to make a video aimed at the pro life crowd.
