Is Trump now retweeting a link to Russian bot farms with the NFL stand for the anthem stuff?

Why Twitter bots are trolling NFL hashtags 'take a knee,' and 'boycott nfl'

INDIANAPOLIS – Pay close attention before getting into arguments with Twitter accounts pushing hashtags like #TakeAKnee or #boycottNFL.

The Alliance for Securing Democracy, a bipartisan group aiming to "publicly document and expose Vladimir Putin’s ongoing efforts to subvert democracy," monitors 600 Twitter accounts it says are linked to Russia. And that group reported that hashtags like 'nfl,' 'takeaknee,' and 'boycottnfl' have recently been some of the most frequently used by those accounts.

Twitter executives discussed Russian interference in the 2016 election with heads from the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and the National Counterterrorism Center on Thursday. Sports chatter, in comparison, seems pretty harmless.

Washington Post: Trump, Puerto Rico is an island and you can't drive trucks in the ocean.

Twice on Tuesday, President Trump offered an excuse for why government aid to Puerto Rico has been slow to arrive after Hurricane Maria: Puerto Rico is an island.

“It’s very tough, because it’s an island,” Trump said during a meeting with members of the House. “In Texas, we can ship the trucks right out there. And you know, we’ve gotten A-pluses on Texas and on Florida, and we will also on Puerto Rico. But the difference is, this is an island sitting in the middle of an ocean. And it’s a big ocean; it’s a very big ocean. And we’re doing a really good job.” Later, during a brief news conference, he repeated the assertion.

(where and when did the Trump administration get A+s for their work in TX and FL? btw once again he has to make it about himself)

“Frankly, we’re doing — and it’s the most difficult job because it’s on the island — it’s on an island in the middle of the ocean,” he said. “It’s out in the ocean. You can’t just drive your trucks there from other states.”

That’s true. Instead, supplies must be transported by airplane or ship instead of by truck. But that’s still not a great excuse for why the island is awaiting supplies.

Assistants at Major College Basketball Programs Face Bribery Charges

Ten people involved with the highest echelon of college basketball, including four assistant coaches and a senior executive at Adidas, are facing federal bribery, fraud and other corruption charges, prosecutors in Manhattan announced on Tuesday.

The United States attorney for the Southern District of New York said in a statement that since 2015 the F.B.I. and federal prosecutors have been investigating “the criminal influence of money on coaches and student-athletes who participate in intercollegiate basketball governed by the N.C.A.A.”

The investigation has revealed “numerous instances” of bribes paid by athlete advisers, among others, to assistant coaches and sometimes directly to student-athletes at N.C.A.A. Division I universities, the complaint said. The bribes were designed to get commitments from college stars to work with specific agents and companies after they turned professional, or to convince coveted high schoolers to attend specific universities.

One of the three indictments charges five people with paying high school athletes or their families to attend particular universities. Those indicted include James Gatto, identified as the head of global sports marketing, basketball for “Company-1.” Though the company is not named, Mr. Gatto works for Adidas in that role.

Trump this AM Texas & Florida are doing great

Texas & Florida are doing great but Puerto Rico, which was already suffering from broken infrastructure & massive debt, is in deep trouble..
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 26, 2017

"Texas & Florida are doing great” It will not be until after Christmas before just the trash is picked up.

A month after Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas, there is still a simple way to tell if a particular street flooded in Houston. Just look at the front lawns.

Debris rose as the water receded and residents returned to gut their ruined homes, disgorging the contents curbside. There is so much to remove, and trips to landfills are taking so long, that the region is months away from clearing it all.

'Everything is gone': Americans return to their flooded homes

Those unwilling or unable to pay private companies hundreds of dollars to shift the detritus are waiting for the city to remove it. But Houston’s mayor, Sylvester Turner, warned at a council meeting earlier this month that it could take until Christmas to deal with.

In a Friday update after clashes between council members over the handling of the problem, Turner said landfills would operate 24 hours a day as more than 300 trucks collect more than 8 million cubic yards of debris at a cost of more than $250m.

Trump was flashing the "white power" hand sign a lot tonight.

I only saw some small snips of Trump feeding red meat to his base in Alabama
tonight but I must have seen at least 10 times he flashed that sign.

Florida anti-porn GOP lawmaker Ross Spano liked porno on Twitter

Source: Raw Story

Texas Senator Ted Cruz does not seem to be the only ‘horny’ Republican searching through Twitter on those lonely, late nights. Florida Representative and anti-porn GOP lawmaker Ross Spano “favorited” a pornographic video on Twitter, The Orlando Weekly reported.

After searching through his Twitter feed of Bible verses and Florida State University football clips, The Orlando Weekly found that Spano’s account had “favorited” a tweet back on January 8 from the "Goddess Lesbian" Twitter account, which features a video clip from adult entertainment company Reality Kings.

In a statement to The Orlando Weekly about the X-rated video, Spano claimed he did not “like” the video.

“Obviously, I have a long social media history on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram since I was first elected in 2012. With a thorough examination of my accounts, it will be easy to see that this is not my doing,” said Spano. “I have since gone back, once notified, and rectified the problem. And I’m now looking into how it occurred in the first place.”
