PBS NewsHour did a segment tonight on Trump's lies.

Although the written story doesn't use the word "liar", the actual interview does.

I have seen several incidents over the last couple of weeks where the media is pushing back and calling out the lies. I hope it continues.

Trump places Nashville rally crowd size above arena capacity, disputes reports

President Donald Trump is touting the size of the crowd at his rally in Nashville Tuesday evening, a day after suggesting the audience was larger than the building allows.

On Wednesday morning Trump said on Twitter that the New York Times estimates about the size of the crowd inside Municipal Auditorium were wrong.

The newspaper reported the crowd to be about 1,000. The article was later updated to reflect the actual size of the crowd, which officials said contained 5,500 people.

<snip>

Despite officials' estimates, the Trump campaign double-down Wednesday afternoon saying there were 8,000 people at the rally.

I'm to the point that if Trump told the truth about something, anything, I would be mightily surprised. He's one of those people who would rather lie when they would be better served by the truth.

Ambien-maker to Roseanne: Racism is not a side effect of our drug

Sleeping drug Ambien can cause a host of side effects, but it's unlikely racism could be categorized as one, as Roseanne Barr claims.

Tuesday, the comedian wrote in a since-deleted tweet that "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj." The "vj" stood for Valerie Jarrett, an Obama White House aide. This led to the cancellation of her hit ABC show Roseanne, and an apology from the comedian, who said at one point she was "Ambien tweeting," in another social media post that has since been removed.

Sanofi, who makes Ambien, tweeted a response Wednesday morning: "While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication."

Not "The Onion".

The CIA analysis reportedly suggests that the U.S. might be more successful in getting Kim to reverse the country's recent progress on its nuclear program than getting the nation to denuclearize altogether.

Officials also told NBC News that the report stated that Kim might be willing to open a Western hamburger franchise in the capital of Pyongyang as a gesture of goodwill toward Trump. Trump is well known for his preference for fast food like McDonald's.

Why don't we just send Ronald McDonald to handle the negotiations, or maybe the Hamburglar?

Did anyone catch MTP this morning? The start of the program

was dedicated to Trump's "weapons of mass distraction".

But we're going to also begin with President Trump, the other big story with him. His weapons of mass distraction. The president and his allies spent much of this week trying to make the case that the F.B.I. planted a spy in the Trump campaign.

While we learned there was no evidence for this charge, here's what we were not focused on while debating that charge. We weren't focused on this story, about another Trump tower meeting in 2016 between Donald Trump, Jr. and an emissary for Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, who offered to help the Trump campaign.

And then, there was this story that got overshadowed, that Donald Trump, Jr. may have lied to Congress about those new contacts. Then, there was this story that got overshadowed, that a Russian oligarch with Kremlin ties met with President Trump's lawyer, Michael Cohen, in Trump Tower 11 days before the presidential inauguration.

And then, there was this story, that President Trump's ally, Roger Stone, sought dirt on Hillary Clinton from WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange during the campaign. All of these potential bombshell stories could have dominated the week, but they were overshadowed as President Trump showed once again how skilled he is in shaping a false narrative to his advantage.

I would like to see more reporting like this. What do you think the chances are?

Old Smokey Eyes Sarah is spreading more propaganda.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders has touted the swearing-in of President Donald Trump’s CIA nominee Gina Haspel as a win for women and Republicans, commenting that Democrats were “losing their war against women.”

The White House press secretary made the comment in a tweet on Monday morning celebrating Haspel’s appointment. “Historic day for our country: swearing-in ceremony for Gina Haspel, the first woman ever to serve as CIA director. Democrats are losing their war against women in the Trump administration,” she wrote.

This something I never considered when I was in school. We had fire drills and tornado drills, but never had an active shooter drill.
