CASSELBERRY, Fla., June 5 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said a naked man who spat in an officer's face and was shocked with a stun gun told officers he was trying to propose to his girlfriend.

Casselberry police said they responded to a home around 3:45 a.m. Sunday when a man called to report a stranger had knocked on his door and was stripping nude on his back porch, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Wednesday.

The police report said officers arrived at the home to find Thomas Edwards Jr., 22, "completely naked" on the back porch of the home and they instructed him to put on his boxer shorts.

Edwards, who gave his name as "Zim," told the officers his girlfriend had invited him to the home so he could propose and she had instructed him to take off his clothes.

He told police "he just wanted to go to jail" and asked if head-butting an officer would result in his arrest.

SIMI VALLEY, Calif., June 5 (UPI) -- Two seniors at a Simi Valley high school in California will miss their graduation ceremony for gluing shut more than 100 school doors Wednesday, officials said.

The prank, which rose to the level of "felony-level vandalism," meant school employees were busy cleaning the glue from door locks so students could get in for their first-period classes, Michael Clear, assistant superintendent of business and facilities for the Simi Valley Unified School District, was quoted by the Los Angeles Times as saying.

"There are harmless pranks and then there are pranks like this which are very expensive to fix," Clear said.

A mobile network blackout across several neighborhoods near Melbourne, Australia, and Telstra technicians tracked the interference to a beer fridge in the garage of Wangaratta resident Craig Reynolds.

Technicians believe electric sparks emitted from the refrigerator's faulty motor generated enough radio frequency noise to knock it out the cell network.

A spark with a large enough magnitude, according to engineers, would interfere with the 850mHz spectrum, which carries mobile voice calls and internet data to smartphones and tablets.

Greg Halley and his crew are black-spot detectors for the telecom company, and tracked the interference using "Mr. Yagi" antennas, named after their Japanese creator. After locating the address, Halley said, they just knocked on the door.

Rochester, N.Y. - Jeremy and Dawn DeRoo took their three young daughters to brunch at Bazil restaurant Sunday.

The DeRoos say their 7-year-old daughter said the orange juice at the restaurant tasted funny, but her mother tried it and figured it was just a different brand, so she told her she could drink it.

It wasn't until they heard people at another table complain that the orange juice tasted like Mimosas, that they realized there was alcohol in the drink.

The waitress apologized and gave the kids milk. The family was still upset when they left because they said managers never came over to their table to apologize. They said when they got home the kids slept all day and appeared hungover on Monday.

The DeRoos tried calling police but said they were told that mistakes happen. Jeremy said it is unacceptable. He wanted an apology from managers and owners of the restaurant and an assurance that steps would be taken so this couldn't happen again. He told us: "That's not good enough for parents having kids, drunk and sleeping all day. It's not fair. These little kids shouldn't have any alcohol period."

An '"evil" Elmo impersonator who is known to have made anti-Semitic rants has appeared in court for trying to extort $2m (£1.7m) from the Girl Scouts.

Homeless Dan Sandler is accused of threatening to spread false rumours that the Girl Scouts of the USA arranged for underage girls to have sex with men.

The 50-year-old, who begs for money in his Sesame Street character costume, pleaded not guilty to extortion in a New York court.

He gained infamy as Evil Elmo when he was arrested for disorderly conduct for screaming anti-Semitic abuse at tourists. He was filmed saying: "The Jews are responsible for everything that's wrong with the world! I hate Jews!"

“It was like a dream,” the new father said of the odyssey he and his wife have experienced in the past two days. “I wanted to make sure it was real.”

Trish Staine is one of those rare cases of a woman who didn’t know she was pregnant until minutes before she gave birth.

Trish, 33, remained in the hospital Wednesday, and John told the story from his perspective. Both Mom and the new baby girl are doing fine despite a delivery five weeks early.

A mother has defied odds of 500,000 to one by giving birth to her third set of twins - baby girls Rowan and Isla.

Karen Rodger, 41, and husband Colin, 44, from Langbank in Renfrewshire were "over the moon" at the new arrivals to their family on May 29 at the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow.

The girls, who are not identical, were delivered by caesarean section with Rowan arriving first weighing 5lbs 8oz and two minutes later Isla weighing 6lbs.

The couple already have four boys - 14-year-olds Lewis and Kyle and Finn and Jude who are both 12 - and were told of the unlikely odds that Mrs Rodger's third pregnancy would be twins.

She said: "I just could not believe it. It never crossed my mind that it would be twins again, I just thought that just doesn't happen to people like me but I'm absolutely delighted."

A Lady Gaga fingernail has sold for $12K at an online auction, making for one of the oddest celebrity items a collector has ever purchased. The black-and-gold acrylic fingernail flew off the superstar’s hand during a performance in Dublin, Ireland last year and it was picked up by an event crew member who decided to put it up for auction at ArtFact.com.

MTV reported on Monday that the interesting fake fingernail sold for for $12K on the website and that it also comes with a photo of Lady Gaga missing the nail during the performance.

The odd collector, whoever it may be, will also receive a letter from the crew member explaining how he snagged the fingernail during the show. The letter reads, “I noticed an object on the floor of the stage, which at first I thought was a guitar plectrum. When I picked it up, I saw it was an acrylic nail.”

A thief broke into multiple cars in the Bluff neighborhood of Sandy and stole some items rarely seen in police reports: sex toys.

Sandy police said there are at least five victims, but one woman had the most embarrassing police report.

"I can't believe it," said Chelsey Coutts, about her sedan trunk being broken into. "I'm still in shock."

And beyond the shock of a rare theft on her quiet street Monday, Coutts said she couldn't believe she had to tell police what someone stole.
