Adam West To Get Batsignal Tribute From LAPD, City Hall

Mayor Eric Garcetti will light up the sky Thursday to remember the late 'Batman' actor.

The bat-signal will shine one final time for a beloved Dark Knight.

The late Adam West will be honored Thursday night with a lighting of the iconic signal in Los Angeles, with Mayor Eric Garcetti and L.A. Police Department Chief Charlie Beck doing the honors.

The public is invited to the event, which will take place at 9 p.m. at City Hall (200 N. Spring St., Los Angeles, CA 90012). West, who played the Caped Crusader on the classic 1960s series Batman, died Saturday at 88.

Tributes have poured in, including from the TV show's Robin, actor Burt Ward, who wrote in a guest column for The Hollywood Reporter that the star never felt like he'd been held back by playing the superhero.

"People always asked Adam if he felt like he’d been typecast, if Batman had hurt his career. But I know he loved it. He loved being a star," wrote Ward.

Top 10 Conservative Idiots #3-2: Dont Beauregard That Joint Edition

Top 10 Conservative Idiots #3-2: Don’t Beauregard That Joint Edition

Welcome back to the Top 10 Conservative Idiots! First off, RIP Adam West. Can we get a round of applause for Adam West, the OG Batman? Yeah! So throughout this edition, we are going to be paying tribute to the man, the myth, the legend that is the great Adam West. And second, congratulations to the Pittsburgh Penguins for winning a second Stanley Cup. Predators, you put up a good fight and next year we can expect tons of dead catfish on the ice. Also congratulations to the Golden State Warriors for winning a title as well. And also a tip of the hat to the Warriors for not wanting to go visit the asshole currently occupying the White House! That is awesome! Can we talk some talk some tributes for a minute? Look, I am a huge fan of Chris Cornell, and prior to his untimely death from suicide, I wish we had got him on the show. His last album “Higher Truth” is amazing. But you know not every tribute knocks it out of the park. There have been some great ones – I saw Incubus do a tribute to Cornell 2 weeks ago and they nailed it. Then at least one of the guys who knew Cornell the best – Audioslave’s Tom Morello – played this amazing tribute to Cornell with an empty mic stand and the audience sang along to “Black Hole Sun”. Then other bands like Bush and Guns N Roses and Metallica payed tribute to the Soundgarden front man. And then there was Dream Theater, who payed tribute during a show in Bucharest 2 weeks ago. Look, I love Dream Theater, I’ve seen them in concert multiple times. I’ve traveled to see them in concert. I’ve met James LaBrie and Jordan Ruddess in real life, I have lots of their albums and merchandise. But that said, I will say… how do you fuck this up??? You have a band compromised of some of the most insanely talented musicians in the world, you can at least take 5 minutes to Google the lyrics and maybe rehearse them before you go on stage in front of 5,000 people! Let’s roll the tape:

Whew, that was bad. James you might want to take a page from Southwest and get away from the tour for a couple of days. OK enough of the intro, we have a lot of idiocy to get to! But first – speaking of music – we got to play the debut music video from the super group Prophets of Rage. It is quite amazing:

&t=2s

My god this week was a banner week for idiocy. We picked the right time to start a new season! Whew, it was crazy. Bear with us. Predisent Trump (see what I did there?) is going to occupy the top 2 slots this week. In slot number one is Donald Trump (1) and he’s had his worst week ever. And it’s mainly because of the Comey hearings and we will go into that in great detail. It’s so bizarre that Washington, DC literally had to stop and do some heavy day drinking because Donald Trump (2) continues to obstruct, and we are going to try the DC Bar’s famous Covfefe Cocktail, and among other Trump insanity – he crashed a wedding at his golf course. At number 3 is Eric Trump (3) who briefly flirts with genocide without realizing he’s flirting with genocide. Oh and he also stole money from kids with cancer. Taking the 4th seed is Donald Trump Supporters (4). We’re going to ask “How Is This Still A Thing?”. Conservative idiocy comes into full public view during the March Against Sharia this week, and we are going to delve into full detail about what went down. Taking the fifth slot, John McCain (5) gave some absolutely bizarre commentary about the Comey investigation, and has an equally bizarre excuse to back up his shenanigans. In the number 6 slot, we’re going to the state of Washington to ask the question “Evergreen College – What the fuck?”. Evergreen College (6) is under fire for repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot over alleged racism from a biology professor and this is one crazy, fucked up situation that isn’t going away any time soon. In the number 7 slot, I was originally going to talk about the British elections – which are pretty fucking crazy in their own right – but instead we have to talk about Jeff Sessions. Good god that was a shit show in the truest sense. At the number 8 slot, we’re going to try something new. We’re going to debut a new segment called “This Fucking Guy” and the first recipients are Theodore Shoebat and Pat Robertson – both batshit crazy religious fundamentalists. In the number 9 (NEIN!!!!) slot we’ve also got a new segment – and a Top 10 original for that! It’s called “You Probably Shouldn’t Have Done That”. And the subject? Megyn Kelley (9) interviewed Alex Jones on her show. And yeah Megyn, you probably shouldn’t have done that. Finally this week, we have the next stop of our Top 10 Conservative Idiots World Tour! (10) and we’re going from France to their next door neighbors – Italy! Italy has an election coming up and they have as much to lose as France, England, and the US do! So will conservative idiots dominate or will democracy prevail? Stay tuned to find out! Plus, ladies and gentlemen, we are celebrating LGBT Pride month here at the Top 10 Conservative Idiots. So with that in mind, our musical guests over the next 3 weeks are going to reflect this. So the first artist we’re having is Case/Lang/Veirs who have a great new self titled album out. Enjoy! And as always don’t forget the key!

[br]

So Trump may have had his worst week ever. And that’s not including last week, which may have been his worst week ever, or his worst week ever since two weeks ago, and that may have been his worst week ever. Oh fuck it, every week for Donald Trump is the worst week since the last week. And I got to give Smirnoff props for a really clever ad that takes a shot at our current liar in chief:

So how fucked is Trump this week? Well juxtapose that with how fucked Trump was last week. I’m of course talking about the whole Trump – Comey situation. But here’s where the whole thing goes south:

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/873879934040780801

President Donald Trump called James Comey "cowardly" and said he thought any leaked information coming from the former FBI director could be "far more prevalent" than believed in his latest early morning Twitter jab.

"I believe the James Comey leaks will be far more prevalent than anyone ever thought possible. Totally illegal? Very 'cowardly!'" Trump tweeted Sunday morning.

The tweet was the second social media lash out from Trump towards the fired FBI director since Comey's dramatic testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday.
http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/president-trump-calls-james-comey-very-cowardly-n770731

Well… seems we got a pickle on our hands here. And I’m not talking about Trump’s pickle which is very tiny by the way. Hey o!!! Thank you I’m here all week, don’t forget to tip your waitress! But guess what – Trump expected Comey’s 100% ass kissing loyalty, and when Comey didn’t kiss Trump’s ass 100%, guess what happened?

Fired FBI Director James B. Comey said President Trump told him at the White House “I need loyalty, I expect loyalty’’ in their private White House dinner conversation in January, according to written testimony prepared by Comey.

In written remarks submitted to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Wednesday — a day before his much-anticipated testimony — Comey said he remembered nine separate private conversations with President Trump. Three were in person and six on the phone.

When the president made his comments about loyalty at the Jan. 27 dinner, Comey wrote that “I didn’t move, speak, or change my facial expression in any way during the awkward silence that followed. We simply looked at each other in silence. The conversation then moved on, but he returned to the subject near the end of our dinner.’’

When prompted again on the subject of loyalty, Comey said he replied, “You will always get honesty from me.’’

Oh and if you guessed that Trump’s accusations against Comey are 100% baseless, you are 100% correct sir / madam!

We know that James B. Comey is a leaker. It's doubtful that he's a criminal; legal experts have said that even though the former FBI director shared his memos of conversations with President Trump with the media, if the information wasn't classified, that probably wasn't a crime.

Which could help explain why on Sunday, Trump upped the ante by tweeting this:

Trump just basically accused the FBI director he fired of leaking classified information, days after Comey testified under oath to Congress that the president might have interfered in an FBI investigation.

In hindsight, this tweet probably shouldn't have been surprising: When the president feels threatened, his go-to move is to accuse his opponent of doing something illegal and offer no evidence to back it up. Conspiracy theorists can and will pick this up and run with it, people can choose to believe which narrative they want, and the waters are sufficiently muddied.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/06/12/trumps-defense-against-comey-has-fallen-into-a-predictable-pattern-make-a-baseless-accusation/?utm_term=.52fcfbd9bc51

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Trump lies? Are you fucking kidding me? The president lied!!! Repeatedly! Oh wait yeah – Trump lies so fucking much that his lies begat lies, which begat lies. This is Lieception! Oh and guess what? Trump sees his Comey’s testimony as a “vindication”. Remember Al Capone’s vault? Remember what the epic fail that turned out to be? This is kind of like that, but it’s really not.

To Democrats and many legal experts in both parties, the Senate testimony from fired FBI director James B. Comey is devastating to President Trump — portraying him as a liar who sought to halt the federal investigation into a former top aide and putting him in dire legal peril.

But to Trump, many Republicans and a broad constellation of surrogates and conservative media outlets, the takeaway is much different: exoneration.

“Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication,” the president tweeted early on the morning after Comey’s testimony.

That point of view has ricocheted across the conservative media world, both organically and in coordination with a hastily organized rapid-response operation at the Republican National Committee. The result is a parallel narrative — reinforced by the president himself on Twitter and at a Friday news conference — that spun Comey’s testimony as a clear victory and, publicly at least, cast aside any potential dangers that may lie ahead.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-sees-comeys-testimony-as-complete-vindication--and-his-fans-agree/2017/06/10/b3c72bd4-4d2b-11e7-9669-250d0b15f83b_story.html?utm_term=.c4e43cc4e8d1

Now here’s where it gets weird – as if that wasn’t already possible. You know what Paul Ryan’s excuse for Trump’s recklessness and gross incompetence is? Well this excuse might work for Homer Simpson, but not for the fucking President Of The United Sates!!!

A day after New Jersey governor Chris Christie unveiled the “normal New York City” talk defense of President Trump’s controversial conversations with former FBI director James Comey, House Speaker Paul Ryan arrived with his own dumb excuse for Trump on Wednesday.

“He’s new to government,” Ryan said, after emphasizing the importance of an independent Justice Department. “So he probably wasn’t steeped in the long-running protocols that establish the relationships between DOJ, FBI, and White Houses. He’s just new to this.”
http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2017/06/paul-ryans-excuse-for-trump-hes-just-new-to-this.html

And you know what Trump did once he figured that out? Why he held an extremely bizarre and awkward cabinet meeting where he made everyone pledge their undying loyalty to him! Audience members, how loyal are you? Can I get some applause? Hey you, you’re not applauding! I need 100% damn it!!!!

Once Trump finished touting his administration's accomplishments, he turned to several of his newly-minted Cabinet secretaries like Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue. Each of those Cabinet secretaries lavished praise on Trump, which he accepted without comment but with a broad smile.

At first, I thought Trump was just going to have the new members of the Cabinet spend a few minutes praising him. NOPE! It soon became clear that Trump planned to have every Cabinet member speak. And when I say "speak" what I really mean is "praise Trump for his accomplishments, his foresight, his just being awesome."

You think I am exaggerating. I am not. Here's what White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus said about Trump: "We thank you for the opportunity and blessing to serve your agenda."

And now it’s time for:

Yeah I need a drink is coming early this week. As if this whole thing with Trump couldn’t possibly get any weirder – it’s going to take lots of common sense, maybe some professional therapists who specialize in emotional trauma, and definitely lots of alcohol and weed. Well, maybe the latter. But speaking of weed and alcohol, people packed bars to watch the testimony. And the famous DC Bar in Washington DC was selling a “Covfefe Cocktail”:

Forget summer blockbuster movies — the biggest show in town Thursday will be the testimony before a Senate committee of former FBI director James B. Comey.

For proof, see the handful of Washington bars opening early and/or offering specials in honor of the potentially fireworks-laden event. (Also, what does it say about our collective mood that we need cocktails to get through it? Okay, drink every time anyone says “Putin”!)

Shaw’s Tavern is opening at 9:30 a.m., in time for pregaming before the Senate Intel Committee convenes at 10 a.m., for what it’s calling the “Comey Hearing Covfefe,” borrowing the term from President Trump’s cryptic tweet. All five of the bar’s TVs will be airing the main event, and vodkas are five bucks (morning, sunshine!).

Duffy’s Irish Pub on Vermont Avenue NW is usually a draw for Washington Nationals fans, but Thursday, the 15 screens will be on C-SPAN, not ESPN. The contents of the featured “Covfefe Cocktail” is as murky as the White House’s Russia controversy: the hangout promises it’s “like drinking the Kool Aid but only a small group of people know what’s in it.” The “small group of people” reference comes from White House press secretary Sean Spicer’s explanation of said Trump tweet.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/reliable-source/wp/2017/06/06/fired-fbi-director-comey-is-testifying-and-washington-needs-a-drink/?utm_term=.b1941b522474

Ooh I like that one. By the way, we made the Covfefe cocktail and it’s quite a drink. But you know Trump dropped a bombshell that might force his Attorney General Casper The Friendly Ghost to testify before a senate committee now:

Donald Trump didn’t just accuse James Comey of lying to the public; the president also argued his new nemesis lied to Congress while under oath. That’s no small charge: when a sitting president effectively says the former director of the FBI committed perjury, it requires some follow-up.

More specifically, it requires that president to back up those allegations in some meaningful way. In this case, that means Trump could deliver his own sworn testimony, which the president has said he’s prepared to do. On CBS News’ “Face the Nation” yesterday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said, “I would like to invite the president to testify before the Senate. I think we could work out a way it could be dignified, public, with questions, with [Senate Majority Leader Mitch] McConnell.”

Trump could also, meanwhile, turn over White House recordings of the president’s conversations – if they exist. Asked about the possibility of such tapes, Trump told reporters on Friday, “Well, I’ll tell you about that maybe sometime in the very near future.” What that means is anybody’s guess. (A day earlier, a White House spokesperson, asked if such recordings have been made, replied, “I have no idea.”)
http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/trump-faces-put-or-shut-moment-over-possible-secret-tapes

But guess what? Trump may have crossed a line calling his son “cowardly”.

ALLENDALE, N.J. — Maybe this was bound to happen.

James Comey came back to his hometown of Allendale in northern Bergen County for a weekend visit with his elderly father and a much-needed escape from the rhetorical tumult of Washington and President Trump’s allegation that he lied in his recent testimony before a Senate committee investigating possible Russian meddling in last year’s presidential election.

But Trump was in New Jersey, too — and he had no intention of staying quiet during his own weekend at the golf club that bears his name, some 50 miles away from Allendale in Bedminster.

What unfolded on Sunday was yet another example of the disjointed political maelstrom that has enveloped the nation in recent weeks as Trump has harshly criticized allegations that Russian intelligence operatives meddled in the 2016 presidential election — and a widening federal investigation that some Trump staffers may have colluded with the Russians.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2017/06/11/no-comment-comey-trumps-sunday-tweet/387737001/?

By the way in case things couldn’t get any worse, his favorite child and woman he would marry upon divorcing Melania, Ivanka Trump made the case as to why you should hate rich kids. And we might need the Sad Hulk Music for this one:

&t=6s

Ivanka Trump on Monday said she is surprised by the "level of viciousness" she has seen so far during her father's presidency.

"There is a level of viciousness that I was not expecting," she said during an interview on "Fox & Friends" when asked whether it is harder than she thought to focus on the things she wants to do.

"I was not expecting the intensity of this experience but this isn't supposed to be easy."

Trump said her father and his administration "intends to be transformative."

"And we want to do big, bold things and we're looking to change the status quo," she said.

"So I didn't expect it to be easy. I think some of the distractions and some of the ferocity was, I was a little blindsided by at a personal level."
http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/337374-ivanka-trump-was-not-expecting-level-of-viciousness

By the way – we here at the Top 10 Conservative Idiots, in our home office in Anaheim, are paying tribute to Pride Month here in June. One person who made a half assed effort to do so, is of course, our half assed president:

President Donald Trump paid tribute Monday to the 49 people who lost their lives at the gay nightclub Pulse a year ago in what was the deadliest mass shooting in United States history. But missing from his tweet was any mention of the LGBTQ community targeted in the Orlando, Florida, attack.

“We will NEVER FORGET the victims who lost their lives one year ago today in the horrific #PulseNightClub shooting. #OrlandoUnitedDay,” he tweeted.

The message was a contrast to other commemorations of those who were killed by Omar Mateen, who pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group (ISIS). According to his father, Mateen committed the atrocity after becoming enraged at the sight of two men kissing.

“My heart is with the loved ones of the 49 people killed at Pulse, the city of Orlando, & the LGBT community,” read a tweet from Trump’s 2016 election rival Hillary Clinton. “#WeWillNotLetHateWin.”

Read more: http://www.newsweek.com/pulse-nightclub-trump-lgbt-community-624558

That’s what we would call a swing and a miss. Now juxtapose that with what he said last year and you get a strikeout:

Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, said Obama was far too timid in his White House appearance. Trump called on Obama to step down from the presidency and challenged Clinton to ratchet up her language about terror threats.

"President Obama disgracefully refused to even say the words 'Radical Islam,'" Trump said in the statement. "For that reason alone, he should step down. If Hillary Clinton, after this attack, still cannot say the two words 'Radical Islam' she should get out of this race for the Presidency."

Trump's campaign canceled a planned rally Monday in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, "due to the horrific tragedy that has just taken place in Orlando, Florida," a campaign statement said. But the candidate will pivot the focus of a scheduled Granite State speech the same day. The speech will no longer focus on what Trump has called a litany of scandals involving Bill and Hillary Clinton. Now, according to a Trump campaign statement, it will "address this terrorist attack, immigration, and national security."

Trump initially responded to news of the shooting through a series of tweets, including one that noted his early condemnation of radical Islam.

"Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, I don't want congrats, I want toughness & vigilance. We must be smart!"

By the way, anyone else care that Trump is reiterating his “fake news” stance this week?

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/874609480301936640

Funny because this is the guy who, um, apologizes for nothing, ever no matter what he does or who he hurts! And is it me or does the presidential motorcade look like a penis?

But the last Trump item we need to touch on this week – is that he crashed a wedding at his golf course in New Jersey, and *OF COURSE* he made it about himself. He’s Donald Trump – wedding crasher!
Branchburg, New Jersey (CNN)Kristen Piatkowski and Tucker Gladhill got a big surprise at their wedding reception late Saturday night: a visit from President Donald Trump.
The President dropped in at about 10:30 p.m. ET, hours into the reception, which was being held at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster Township, New Jersey, according to someone who was in the room.
Guests were unaware that Trump, who stayed at the club this weekend, was stopping by until Secret Service agents came into the room minutes before his arrival to clear the way and make sure guests wouldn't surround him, the source said.

[br]
[br]

Trump’s sons Uday and Qusay are proof that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Well, what was Qusay Trump up to this week? You know let’s roll the tape on this.

Yeah BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! So here’s what happened in full detail – Eric Trump may or may not have flirted with one of the stages of genocide. Which is a very fucking scary thought. I think even some republicans were horrified by Eric’s statements.

Washington (CNN)Eric Trump said Democrats who support the probe into his father's campaign and Russia are "not even people" and he has "never seen hatred like this."
He also shared harsh criticism of the Democratic Party as a whole.
"They're imploding," Trump told Fox News' Sean Hannity Tuesday night, adding: "They have no message. You see the head of the (Democratic National Committee), who is a total whack job."

Trump's "not even people" remark quickly evoked comparisons on social media to Hillary Clinton's "basket of deplorables" comment made about President Trump's supporters during the 2016 campaign.
http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/07/politics/eric-trump-hannity-democrats-obstruction/index.html

Yeah BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Yes, Eric Trump does suck. As if he wasn’t already the worst person in the world this week, what could he possibly be under investigation for that prompted that horrifying statement?

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is “looking into” a charitable foundation founded by Eric Trump, a spokesman for Schneiderman said, after Forbes magazine raised questions about whether President Trump's son had made misleading statements about how the foundation spent its money.

The New York attorney general has jurisdiction over charities in the state, where Eric Trump's foundation is registered. Schneiderman's office would say little about this new inquiry, other than to report that it was at an early stage and could not be considered a formal investigation.

“The attorney general's office is looking into issues at the Eric Trump Foundation raised by the Forbes report,” said spokesman Eric Soufer in a written statement.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2017/06/09/n-y-attorney-general-looking-into-eric-trumps-foundation/?utm_term=.56ffd77404f8

I like that one! So what could Eric Trump be under investigation for, I wonder?

New York's attorney general is looking into a report that the Eric Trump Foundation funneled more than $1 million from charity golf tournaments into President Donald Trump's business, a spokesman for the attorney general said on Friday.

Forbes magazine reported this week that the charity run by Eric Trump, the president's second-oldest son, paid the Trump Organization to use its properties for charity events in recent years even though Eric Trump had told donors that the golf course and other assets were being used for free, so that just about all the money donated would help sick children.

Forbes reported that based on filings from the Eric Trump Foundation and other charities, more than $1.2 million "has no documented recipients past the Trump Organization."

Eric Soufer, a spokesman for New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, said in an email that his office was looking into issues raised by the Forbes story.
http://www.cnbc.com/2017/06/10/new-york-attorney-general-looking-at-eric-trump-charitys-payouts.html

I could picture Eric Trump doing that. Yeah he stole money from a children’s cancer charity. Let me reiterate that – he stole money from a fucking children’s cancer charity and is now saying that democrats probing his non existent ethics are the bad guy. Hey Eric, you might want to read up on the stages of genocide for a minute and let it sink in for a minute.

Dehumanization
Classification and symbolization are fundamental operations in all cultures. They become steps
of genocide only when combined with dehumanization. Denial of the humani
ty of others is the
step that permits killing with impunity. The universal human abhorrence of murder of members
of one's own group is overcome by treating the victims as less than human. In incitements to
genocide the target groups are called disgusting a
nimal names
-
Nazi propaganda called Jews
"rats" or "vermin"; Rwandan Hutu hate radio referred to Tutsis as "cockroaches." The targeted
group is often likened to a “disease”, “microbes”, “infections” or a “cancer” in the body politic.
Bodies of genocide v
ictims are often mutilated to express this denial of humanity. Such atrocities
then become the justification for revenge killings, because they are evidence that the killers must
be monsters, not human beings themselves.

And in case you’re wondering if the GOP is getting any more desperate for votes and that the Trump Train has soiled the GOP brand, I give you this – a guy running for governor in Virginia was literally asking Eric Trump if he could get a retweet up in this piece:

A GOP candidate in the Virginia gubernatorial race asked Eric Trump “for a retweet” Saturday.

Corey Stewart, who is running in the Republican primary in the race, retweeted a message asking people to vote for him and added: “[Eric Trump] can I get a retweet?”

Time once again to ask:

This week: US Sharia Law protestors, how are they still a thing? If they need a refresher course on the 1st amendment – something they should probably read the next time they make a ridiculous claim about religion, well, here is the full context of the first amendment:

That said there were massive protests held across the country against Sharia Law. Now you might be thinking “massive”? Well, here’s a picture from the Women’s March held after inauguration day:

And now here’s a picture from the “March Against Sharia” held this very Saturday:

What’s not pictured here: Patriots. So here’s more on the subject:

Saturday's nationwide "March Against Sharia," sponsored by a group known for aggressively criticizing Islam, has in recent days become a rallying cause for right-wing extremists, forcing march organizers to repudiate some of their own supporters and prompting concern about clashes with militant leftists.

The marches, due to be held in at least 19 states, are being coordinated by ACT for America, a conservative grass-roots organization that calls itself "the NRA of national security." The group has a long history of opposing Sharia, which is a legal or philosophical code derived from Islamic scripture and meant to guide the behavior of observant Muslims.

Same goes for this guy.

A guy wearing an American flag suit holding a Nazi flag. Does this qualify as desecration of the flag? And then there’s these douchebags:

Yes that’s Georgia State Senator Michael Williams posing with extremist group III%. And what kind of anti government group needs a chain gun rifle? WTF? And then there’s neo Nazis:

So for those of you keeping score at home, the people attending the March Against Sharia are nothing more than Cucks, Keks, and Reality Winners. Even the media is wrong about American white supremacy and its’ spread, which we saw a lot of this weekend, even more if you see the Twittersphere:

White supremacist terror is at the top of people’s minds after a white supremacist stabbed and killed two men who were defending two young black women, one in a hijab, from his bigoted rant in Portland, Oregon, last month.

The incident attracted widespread media coverage, which in turn drew criticism from many people on Twitter who denounced news outlets for not labeling the attack as terrorism.

There’s a familiar double standard in how the media treats violence by white supremacists versus violence by Islamist extremists. It’s time to get it right.

HuffPost spoke to two experts ― Farai Chideya, a journalist who has been reporting on white nationalism for more than 25 years, and Heidi Beirich, the head of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Project, who has been studying white extremist groups since 1999 ― to discuss the problem of white supremacist hate today, and how the media can do a better job covering it.

And then there was this guy who was probably at the March Against Sharia this last weekend:

ORLANDO (FOX 13) - An Orlando home is where Brandon Russell will be spending all of his time while he awaits trial on explosives charges.

Federal Judge Thomas McCoun granted bond for Russell Friday, writing there was no clear and convincing evidence "the defendant represents a threat to any person or community."

Last month, cops found bomb-making material, weapons, and ammo in the garage of his Tampa Palms apartment. On his bedroom dresser, a framed picture of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh. On his computer, Nazi and white supremacist propaganda.

The 21-year-old, who is a member of the Florida National Guard, admitted to being a neo-Nazi sympathizer, and to making explosives materials.

Oh and the Seattle March Against Sharia ended with a fight:

SEATTLE - It came at the end of the formal march and rally for both sides. ACT for America supporters and those who oppose them suddenly raised their fists. But almost as quickly, it was over.

The incident was halted when Seattle police doused them in pepper spray.

A few feet away, a swarm of officers surrounded two men and a woman and handcuffed them. All three were arrested for obstruction.

Both groups began the demonstration peacefully. Hundreds gathered in Occidental Park for a counter-demonstration to show support for Muslim Americans.

And just remember my fair March Against Sharia protestors, when this guy is on your side, you don’t want to be right either:

On Thursday, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) praised the recent Islamic State attack in Tehran as a “good thing” and suggested that maybe the United States should work with the militant organization.

Rohrabacher’s entire line of reasoning for why the United States should work with a militant group accused of human rights violations and war crimes like ethnic cleansing is astonishing. Here it is verbatim:

“We have recently seen an attack on Iran, and the Iranian government, the mullahs, believe that Sunni forces have attacked them. This may signal a ratcheting up of certain commitments by the United States of America. As far as I’m concerned, I just want to make this point and see what you think, isn’t it a good thing for us to have the United States finally backing up Sunnis who will attack Hezbollah and the Shiite threat to us? Isn’t that a good thing? And if so, maybe this is a Trump — maybe it’s a Trump strategy of actually supporting one group against another, considering that you have two terrorist organizations.”
https://thinkprogress.org/republican-congressman-calls-isis-attack-in-tehran-a-good-thing-says-maybe-we-should-back-isis-a7e9382dbe1b

Yes, that’s UNITED STATES REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN DANA ROHRABACHER advocating that the US should work with Isis. That’s enough to make you ask – US Sharia Law protestors:

John McCain
[br]
[br]

Well there’s excuses and then there’s John McCain’s excuse. Just… this is delving from old man territory into full on Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino “Get Off My Lawn” crazy old man territory. And you know what? We’ve got video of it! Let’s roll the tape before we begin discussing.

Yeah McCain’s testimony was completely incoherent! So what was McCain talking about? Well there’s lots of theories.

(CNN)The strangest moment of the nearly three-hour Senate intelligence committee hearing featuring testimony from fired FBI Director James Comey came at the very end. And it came courtesy of a somewhat-unlikely source: Arizona Sen. John McCain.
Odd because McCain isn't actually on the Senate intelligence committee. But because he is the chairman of the Armed Services Committee, he -- as well as Democratic Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island, the ranking member on Armed Services -- gets ex officio status and can ask questions.
And, whoa boy, did McCain ask some questions. (At 356 seconds, he talked the second-most among all senators -- only Chairman Richard Burr used more speaking time.)
Here's the start of McCain's exchange with Co.
http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/08/politics/john-mccain-comey/index.html

Whew, John McCain, keep doing what you’re doing. That was… that was magical. But there’s no excuse you might say? Well there was an excuse – and I shit you not, I am not making this up.

McCain appeared to mix up Comey’s long-done Hillary Clinton email server investigation with the ongoing probe into potential Russian meddling in the U.S. Presidential election. Comey himself was confused, as was the majority of the viewing public, and it prompted McCain to issue a statement afterward with an excuse any sports fan can relate to.
“I get the sense from Twitter that my line of questioning today went over people’s heads,” McCain’s statement read. “Maybe going forward I shouldn’t stay up late watching the Diamondbacks night games.”

McCain’s story checks out. The 36-25 Diamondbacks were indeed playing the Padres late Wednesday night, in a game that didn’t start until 9:40 p.m. in Washington, D.C., and lasted until nearly 1:30 Thursday morning Eastern time.

At least McCain, if he is to be believed, saw a winner. Arizona won 7-4, and is tied with the Dodgers for the top National League wild-card spot, just two games off the NL West lead. Can’t blame him for wanting to stick it out.
http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/john-mccain-james-comey-diamondbacks-strange-questions-060817

Wait what’s that??? Quick, Robin to the Trump Mobile!!! That was a real excuse? Let’s figure it out!

Yes. This was an actual excuse from an elected official. He gave incoherent testimony because he was up all night watching Arizona Diamondbacks games! To which the Arizona Diamondbacks themselves simply responded:

https://twitter.com/Dbacks/status/872889256850501632
Excuse me a minute…

I nearly spit out my Covfefe Cocktail for a minute. So what kind of things was McCain alluding to? well there was this.

Sen. John McCain saw shades of dystopia during a hearing Wednesday.

The Arizona Republican said that Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats' refusal to go into detail about a conversation already reported in The Washington Post "shows what kind of an Orwellian existence that we live in."

"I mean, it's detailed, as you know from reading the story, when you met, what you discussed, et cetera, et cetera. And yet, here in a public hearing before the American people, we can't talk about what was described in detail in this morning's Washington Post," McCain asked at the Senate Intelligence Committee hearing.

In the late 1940s, British author George Orwell wrote "1984," in which people use a government-issued language called "newspeak" that's designed to limit freedom of thought.
http://www.cnbc.com/2017/06/07/john-mccain-at-senate-hearing-were-living-an-orwellian-existence.html

Yes – Orwell. Of course America is in a constant state of surveillance and we may or may not have reached the point of fake news burning yet. But the good news is that there’s more sane, rational Americans than there are Trump supporters. At least McCain is man enough to admit it.

America’s reputation on the world stage has dived since President Donald Trump took office from Barack Obama, Senator John McCain declared over the weekend, laying into the leadership of Trump and his team.

The Guardian asked the Republican senator from Arizona what he thought of Trump’s foreign policy, including his erratic tweeting and an ongoing feud with London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, who is Muslim. Following the London Bridge attack on June 3, which left eight dead and dozens injured, Trump had tweeted that Khan’s response was “pathetic.” McCain was apparently "visibly irked" when asked what message he thought the American president was sending to Britain.

“What do you think the message is?” McCain told The Guardian. “The message is that America doesn’t want to lead.” The entire world is now left wondering as to America’s role in global affairs, he suggested. “They are not sure of American leadership, whether it be in Siberia or whether it be in Antarctica.”

Evergreen College
[br]
[br]

This is a serious case of “what the fuck is going on?”. And you know the first rule of debating is that when you’re in a hole, the first thing to do is to stop digging. Yeah and that’s exactly the pickle that Evergreen College has got themselves into lately over a bizarre back and forth case of racism that has nearly shut the whole damn school down. Well before we go any further let’s trace a few steps back.

I’ve been shocked by events at The Evergreen State College. Professor Bret Weinstein was harassed for progressive comments on changes to the college’s policies toward racial equity.

A mob of students interrupted his course to protest comments critical of the “Day of Absence, Day of Presence” requesting white students and professors leave the campus. Students threatened Weinstein seemingly without repercussions.

Evergreen president George Bridges failed to protect the general well-being of professors and students on his campus. Bridges then capitulated to the demands of the small, aggressive student group, setting a dangerous precedent for settling conflicts on college campuses.
http://www.seattletimes.com/opinion/letters-to-the-editor/the-evergreen-state-college-readers-weigh-in/

Yeah so a teacher questioned one particular aspect of the school’s racial policy in a classroom. That probably should not have been done in public. Well it was and what has followed in the last three weeks has been well, a category 5 shit storm. Believe me it’s not pleasant at Evergreen College because this happened.

The Evergreen State College closed again Monday, the second time in days that security concerns led college officials to shut down a campus that has gotten national attention after protests over race.

The school in Olympia, Wash., shut down abruptly Thursday after receiving a threat, remained closed Friday, and reopened Saturday after law enforcement had thoroughly searched the campus.

Last week, someone called the county 911 line and told the dispatch officer, “Yes, I am on my way to Evergreen now with a .44 Magnum. … I am going to execute as many people on that campus as I can get a hold of. You have that, what’s going on here, you communist scumbag?”

The school announced that the campus would be closed “while law enforcement officials review new external threat information received over the weekend.” A school spokeswoman, Sandra Kaiser, declined to provide details about the additional information from the weekend. She said the closure was precautionary to give law enforcement time to review information from the weekend and that the school has been told that there was no active threat.

Holy fuck!!!! Someone with a gun actually plotted to carry out a death threat! I mean Jesus, not only did the school dig themselves into a hole, they dug past the lowest point on earth and are heading straight for the Earth’s core by now. Oh and after the threat classes did resume:

Evergreen State College resumed a normal schedule on Tuesday morning after several tumultuous days involving violent threats and vandalism that forced the public college to shut down.

The college in Olympia, Wash., suspended operations on Thursday after emergency operators received a call from a person claiming to be armed and driving to the Evergreen State College campus, threatening to "execute as many people on that campus as I can get ahold of."

While law enforcement officials searched the campus and found no credible threat related to the call, an incident of vandalism on Sunday night led to $10,000 in property damage, according to the county sheriff's office.
http://time.com/4807225/evergreen-state-college-violence-vandalism-threat/

What kind of vandalism must you commit when it’s estimated to be $10,000 in property damage? This is getting worse the more you dig into it! Never mind that there’s armed, wannabe Rambo douchebags patrolling the campus halls:

The bats must be put away immediately’

An official at Evergreen State College sent a memo to students Sunday asking an apparent group of campus vigilantes who have taken to patrolling the grounds armed with bats or batons to end the practice, according to an email forwarded to The College Fix.

The email was from Vice President for Student Affairs Wendy Endress, who in her memo addressed to “colleagues” included the message sent to students Sunday by Sharon Goodman, director of Evergreen’s Residential and Dining Service, or RAD, asking the “community patrol” to lay down its weapons.

The Olympia, Wash.-based campus is closed today due to an unspecified “external threat”; it was also closed for nearly two days last week due to a “direct threat to campus safety.”

We’ll definitely keep an eye on this situation but the shit has definitely hit the fan at Evergreen College.

Jeff Sessions
[br]
[br]

We were originally going to talk about the British elections – which are pretty batshit fucking crazy in their own right, but we’ll save that for when we get to England as part of our World Tour 2017, but we have got to talk about Jeff Sessions. Holy shit, as if the Trump administration couldn’t get any crazier, Attorney General Casper The Friendly Ghost was questioned on Capitol Hill this week. Let’s roll the tape first and then let’s discuss.

Dude, did he just get the vapors? Is he a southern dame? Yeah there’s always that. ”Oh I do declare that there was no involvement in the collusion with allowing Russia to hack our voting machines, good sir!”. I mean could this get any weirder? I want some of whatever the GOP is smoking, and it must be some pretty strong shit.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is asking congressional leaders to undo federal medical marijuana protections that have been in place since 2014, according to a May letter that became public Monday.

The protections, known as the Rohrabacher-Farr amendment, prohibit the Justice Department from using federal funds to prevent certain states "from implementing their own State laws that authorize the use, distribution, possession or cultivation of medical marijuana."

In his letter, first obtained by Tom Angell of Massroots.com and verified independently by The Washington Post, Sessions argued that the amendment would "inhibit authority to enforce the Controlled Substances Act." He continues:

I believe it would be unwise for Congress to restrict the discretion of the Department to fund particular prosecutions, particularly in the midst of an historic drug epidemic and potentially long-term uptick in violent crime. The Department must be in a position to use all laws available to combat the transnational drug organizations and dangerous drug traffickers who threaten American lives.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2017/06/13/jeff-sessions-personally-asked-congress-to-let-him-prosecute-medical-marijuana-providers/?utm_term=.717a318fb879

But seriously, I want some of whatever they’re smoking. Hey man, don’t Beauregard that joint, my friend! Thank you! So what else happened?

Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigation. “During the course of the last several weeks, I have met with the relevant senior career Department officials to discuss whether I should recuse myself from any matters arising from the campaigns for president of the United States,” he said in his written recusal released on March 2. “Having concluded those meetings today, I have decided to recuse myself from any existing or future investigations of any matters related in any way to the campaigns for President of the United States.”

Any existing or future investigations. Related in any way.

Sessions consulted with the president and coordinated the firing of James Comey. Recall that Comey had testified on March 20 that he was heading the Russia investigation:

I’ve been authorized by the Department of Justice to confirm that the FBI, as part of our counterintelligence mission, is investigating the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. That includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government, and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts. As with any counterintelligence investigation, this will also include an assessment of whether any crimes were committed. Because it is an open, ongoing investigation, and is classified, I cannot say more about what we are doing and whose conduct we are examining.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/wp/2017/05/11/jeff-sessions-is-in-deep-trouble-and-heres-why/?utm_term=.00b3f6be5737

Dude, you cant just recuse yourself and get a “get out of jail free” card. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. I mean seriously these people lie like it’s a bodily function. I mean remember during the Bill Clinton impeachment hearings when they accused Clinton of lying? Well, the Clintons got nothing on Trump and his gang. I mean shit, these guys lie the way Sterling Archer drinks.

Senators on Tuesday grilled Attorney General Jeff Sessions during a Senate intel committee hearing for refusing to discuss his conversations with President Donald Trump.

“The American people have had it with stonewalling,” Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) said. “Americans don’t want to hear that the answers to relevant questions are privileged and off limits or that they can’t be provided in public, or that it would be ‘inappropriate’ for witnesses to tell us what they know.”

“General Sessions has acknowledged that there is no legal basis for this stonewalling,” the senator added.

“Sen. Wyden, I am not stonewalling,” Sessions pushed back. “I am following the historic policies of the Department of Justice.”

Sessions grew visibly angry when the Oregon senator then suggested there may be troublesome factors behind his recusal from the Russian interference investigation.
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/06/jeff-sessions-senate-hearing-russia-stonewalling/

I love that show. Maybe the reason these guys lie so much is that if the hangover they got from actually telling the truth was so bad it would kill them? Just saying. So I mean this was an overall absolutely terrible pick for Attorney General, we can all agree there, right?

Attorney General Jeff Sessions offered an aggressive defense of his conduct surrounding the Russia investigation on Tuesday, but his repeated refusal to answer questions based on a vague reference to executive privilege will likely prolong the congressional effort to understand what preceded former FBI Director James Comey’s controversial ouster last month.

The former Alabama senator offered little to rebuff allegations from Democrats that there’s too much smoke around Comey’s firing and the Russia investigation for there to be no fire. Nor did his replies firmly clear up questions about his own contacts with Russian officials.
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/06/jeff-sessions-senate-testimony/530154/

And in case you’re wondering how toxic it is to be associated with Trump, Jeff Sessions definitely isn’t helping things. I mean seriously – Trump created a perpetual motion machine of incompetence – every single person he’s hired couldn’t be more grossly incompetent than the last, and the few competent people? He actually did fire them. There’s always this.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions repeatedly refused to answer questions from senators Tuesday about his private conversations with President Trump, including whether he spoke to Trump about former FBI director James B. Comey’s handling of the investigation into possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 presidential race.

In a number of testy exchanges with members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Sessions said he would not answer many of their questions because of a long-standing Justice Department policy that he said protects private conversations between Cabinet secretaries and the president.

This F**king Guy
[br]
[br]

Ladies and gentlemen it’s time to debut a new segment on our show! OK I kind of stole it from the Jim Jeffries Show, and I’ll admit it. But we love Jim Jeffries here. So the new title of the segment is going to be called:

Yes, this fucking guy. And this week’s honorary recipient of the “This Fucking Guy” award goes to none other than Pat Robertson. You know in the wake of the horrifying terror attacks in London and Manchester last week, Pat Robertson did that thing that republican Jesus would do, and that is telling the victims of a recent terrorist bombing that they deserved it:

Today on “The 700 Club,” Pat Robertson interviewed Christian Broadcasting Network reporter Dale Hurd about the recent terrorist attacks in the United Kingdom.
Hurd speculated that “someone at a higher level in the British government is stopping enforcement” of anti-terrorism laws, which prompted Robertson to wonder if there is “a plot of some kind” to aid terrorists.

The two then went after the left for supposedly being soft on Islam and immigration.
“The left talks as if more people are going to have to die before something’s done, because political correctness is so important to them—it’s a core fath for them,” Hurd said.
http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/pat-robertson-maybe-british-people-want-to-die/

Yeah BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Hey fuck you, Pat. This isn’t whether or not someone is PC. We don’t give a shit. The correct question is – how many people are going to die before the right thing is done because we’re sick of this shit??? Thank you! We don’t want to die, and we don’t give a crap about these monsters. Terrorism is terrorism and the sooner it’s stopped the better. But blowing the shit out of a country isn’t the way to do this. As if that wasn’t bad enough, then there’s this fucking guy – Theodore Shoebat, who said this about the terror attacks in London:

Extremist anti-LGBTQ activist Theodore Shoebat posted a video on his website reacting to the terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England last night in which 22 people were killed. Shoebat, who was featured in a radically anti-gay documentary in 2015 along with various Religious Right activists and Republican elected officials, declared that he has no sympathy for those who were killed or injured because they are all “sodomites-lovers” and “sluts.”

“I really have no sympathy for these people,” he said. “The people who died, the people who were injured, the people who were scared out of their minds, who ran away , I really don’t care. The types of people who go to these concerts are the same types of people who are responsible for the degeneracy that you see in society.”

“They go to these concerts dressed up as whores, dressed up as sluts, they’re pro-sodomite, they’re pro-divorce, they’re pro-infidelity,” Shoebat said. “They want evil, they want decay, they want sodomy, they want Sodom and Gomorrah.”

Shoebat then showed photos of “some sodomite lover” who was injured in the bombing as he declared that Ariana Grande “is a nasty, evil woman.”

http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/theodore-shoebat-victims-of-manchester-bombing-were-pro-sodomite-sluts-and-whores/

Yeah BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! And “some sodomite lover”? how does he know if this person is a “sodomite lover”? You know I don’t have any sympathy for people like Theodore Shoebat who judge others from their ivory keyboards, how about that? Oh and fuck you by the way! Theodore Shoebat has also said some very batshit crazy stuff like this. I mean he's the Lamar Ball of the Christian right:

By the way, do I need to point out the irony of such a homophobic POS like Shoebat wearing a San Francisco Giants shirt? San Francisco - a city that is commonly associated with having the highest populations of LGBT Americans in the country? Really do I need to point that out? I thought Jesus said “love everybody” and the Bible had that rule that said “Do unto others as they would have do unto you”. If “do unto others” means “beat the shit out of people for just being themselves”, I will tell you who deserves that more! And it’s not the gay guy walking his dog down the street. And as if religious crazy people couldn’t get any more batshit crazy than this fucking guy, there’s this fucking guy – Jerry Falwell, Jr. who Trump wants to put on a “task force” to “reform eduction”, which I guess means putting Bibles in every desk that kids won’t read?

Jerry L. Falwell Jr., the president of Liberty University, will be part of a White House task force, an official from the White House told The Chronicle on Sunday.

The news is the first official comment from the White House on the topic since Mr. Falwell told The Chronicle in January that President Trump and others in his inner circle had asked him to head up a task force on reforming regulations related to higher education.

Even so, information on the task force’s role, membership, purview, and timing is still scant.

"We are working on a task force that Jerry Falwell will be involved with," was all the official would say on the topic for now. He is someone who was authorized by the White House to speak on the subject but not be named.
http://www.chronicle.com/article/A-Task-Force-With-Falwell-Is/240315

You know with friends like these, who needs enemies? I mean the religious right is out of control right now and if they repeal the Johnson Amendment – it’s the last thing keeping this country from sliding into fascist religious totalitarian rule, you have people like Pat Robertson, Theodore Shoebat, and Jerry Falwell Jr at the helm. And that’s a scary thought. That is why they’re this week’s nominations for:

[div style="padding: 20px; background-color: #ffffff; border-radius: 10px; box-shadow: 0px 2px 4px 1px #aaa;"][div style="font-family: arial, helvetica; font-weight: bold; border-bottom: 1px dotted #999; padding-bottom: 8px;"]
You Probably Shouldn’t Have Done That
[br]
[br]

So we have a new feature that we’re going to debut on the Top 10 and it’s not one that we’ve stolen, er, borrowed from other talk shows! Can we get the graphic cued up?

That was pretty much an example of “let’s create the most obnoxious font we can!”. So here’s how this is going to work. I’m going to pull an event or two from the news and say “You probably shouldn’t have done that”. Kathy Griffin and Bill Maher both would have made great subjects for this. But this week, who does that award go to? Why it’s Megyn Kelly.

Megyn Kelly, the new star of NBC on Sunday nights, is off to a less-than-compelling start as she now gears the country up for “controversies and conspiracies” in her interview with the far-right InfoWars host Alex Jones. One of his most disgusting conspiracy theories was that the Sandy Hook shooting was actually a hoax, and a mother who lost her child in the tragedy is speaking out against the interview.

In a series of tweets Nelba Marquez-Greene, a mother who lost her daughter in the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012, expressed her disgust for Kelly’s substandard journalistic behavior.
http://www.salon.com/2017/06/12/megyn-kellys-plan-to-interview-alex-jones-angers-sandy-hook-shooting-victims-parents/

Yeah Megyn Kelly, you probably shouldn’t have done that, and there’s many reasons that I could point out, most namely the fact that you’re giving Alex Jones a national platform to spew his Sandy Hook denying bullshit! Which he did!

Families from one of the US’s most notorious school shootings have reacted with outcry after NBC broadcast an interview with a leading conspiracy theorist who said the incident never happened and that parents faked their children's deaths.

Alex Jones, host of the Infowars, has claimed over the years that the US government was involved in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and the attacks of 9/11. He also said the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook that left 26 people dead, including 20 children, never happened.

Mr Jones has now repeated his comments, including about what he says never happened at the elementary school in Connecticut, in an interview to NBC’s Megyn Kelly. Ms Kelly, who earlier this year quit Fox News, started by asking him if he was the most paranoid person in the country.

http://images.memes.com/meme/721106

Which should not be used as a source on anything because he even went and further tripled down on the crazy! Yeah it’s his channel but can we roll the tape on that?

Holy fuck!!!! Alex is off his rocker. And that’s about the nicest thing we can say about that video. I mean seriously… holy shit. Is he in love with Megyn Kelly? Did he think this was a Tinder date? I mean he’s certifiably insane. He can spew his conspiracy theory crap behind padded walls! Then there’s one more thing that we want to cover on this week’s edition of:

The other item this week: this off Broadway theater in New York City. The right wing outrage machine was at it again because there was a Shakesphere in the Park production of Julius Caesar that may have included a character representing Donald Trump, our current president.

For decades, conservatives have darkly warned that failing to teach the Western canon of literature to students — that deeming books and plays by dead white guys irrelevant to today’s concerns — would lead to disastrous consequences.

Last weekend, they proved their own point.

For its annual Shakespeare in the Park program, New York City’s Public Theater has mounted a production of William Shakespeare’s 1599 play Julius Caesar in Central Park — a play that, among other things, strongly warns those who commit political violence, even in service of their country, about the futility of their actions.

The production began previews on May 23, and its opening night is Monday, June 12. But over the weekend, it was met with conservative outrage, followed by the cancellation of two corporate sponsorships.

It all comes down to one key creative decision: namely, portraying Julius Caesar as Donald Trump.
https://www.vox.com/culture/2017/6/12/15780692/julius-caesar-shakespeare-in-park-trump-public-theater-outrage

Yeah you probably shouldn’t have done that, because this happened.

Delta Air Lines said it is withdrawing its sponsorship of New York’s Public Theater over a production of Julius Caesar with allusions to President Donald Trump.

The production scheduled to start Monday “depicts the assassination of a Trump-like Roman ruler,” according to the New York Times, and sponsors have faced criticism online and from some media outlets.

“No matter what your political stance may be, the graphic staging of Julius Caesar at this summer’s Free Shakespeare in the Park does not reflect Delta Air Lines’ values,” Atlanta-based Delta said in a written statement. “Their artistic and creative direction crossed the line on the standards of good taste. We have notified them of our decision to end our sponsorship as the official airline of The Public Theater effective immediately.”

Bank of America also released a statement saying it was withdrawing its funding for the production.

Part of our mission statement here at the Top 10 Conservative Idiots is to show you that conservative idiocy isn’t just a problem with America. No, it’s a global problem that is stemming far and wide, and it’s not just America where conservative idiots ruin everything they touch. So you might be wondering where we’re going with this. That’s easy! You can now look at the handy tour schedule I created! We are starting in France and ending in Mexico – you know, Donald Trump’s favorite country! The end date for Season 3 is 12/20 and we take our traditional week off for the end of the year. Season 4 will have a second leg of the tour covering countries we didn’t get to, as well as the return of our Stupidest State contest with all new states! So here’s the tour schedule – you can put it on a t-shirt if you like, I just ask that we get all the credit!

Last week, we told you about what was going on in France post-election and that it was American alt right douchebags who tried to sway the vote in LaPen’s favor. Now we’re going to France’s next door neighbors in Italy.

Italy

Italy is the home of Rome which is home to such world wonders as the Roman Colisseum, where gladiators would fight to their deaths. It’s also the home of the capitol of Catholicism – Vatican City. Italy also has Venice – which is a world wonder itself as one of the only cities entirely built on water, and Florence, and was the home to the 2006 Winter Olympics. And when you think of Italy, what else comes to mind? Cars! Italy is the home of some of the world's elite auto manufacturers. This includes Fiat Chrysler Group - which owns Maserati and Alfa Romeo. It also includes Lamborghini, Lancia, Pagani, Manzanatti and of course Bugatti.

Italy is also home to some of the most amazing food in the world. Who doesn't enjoy a nice plate of spaghetti and meatballs? Or cappelini al forzo? Or some panini bread? Or a nice margharita pizza? What else is Italy the home of? Why it’s the home of the world’s next election you should be paying more attention to!

Italy is not Greece. The latter is technically a failed state because of its overwhelming public and private indebtedness. But Italy is in the process of becoming Greece. The economy is in terrible shape with a nearly 12 percent unemployment rate nationally. Youth unemployment hovers at 40 percent. Both of these numbers are much worse in southern Italy, a historically depressed region that is now in freefall.

Two legendary businessmen had such statistics in mind when they recently gave interviews to the Corriere della Sera newspaper. Carlo De Benedetti, longtime head of the Olivetti Corporation, declared that work “is the only thing that counts; the rest is superstructure. Work is dignity. A country without work sooner or later will experience social disturbances and upheavals.” Two weeks later the former head of Fiat, Cesare Romiti, concurred. He said that he was frightened by Italy’s unemployment problems: “I am anguished for my country, especially over public indebtedness and unemployment. There is no work; therefore, there is nothing.” We are used to hearing such apocalyptic forebodings about capitalism from Italy’s Marxist left, but not from the country’s corporate headquarters.

Ernesto Galli della Loggia, a distinguished contemporary historian and newspaper columnist, recently wrote that Italy is falling apart. Without work, young people are leaving the country in droves. The physical infrastructure is collapsing. Disorderly conduct is increasing. The menace of organized crime is proliferating. Italy is a country of insecure old people and young people without prospects. Italians look to their uncertain future with fear. In such a crisis-ridden atmosphere, the center, where stability for the status quo lies, cannot hold.

Another leading preoccupation in Italy today is the unwanted arrival of Muslim immigrants and refugees from the war-torn Middle East and North Africa. This is a European-wide problem, but Italy’s proximity to the two afflicted regions makes it especially appealing as a destination for the millions of displaced Muslims seeking safety.

Holy shit! Are Italy’s racists taking cues from America’s racists? If you think France and the US were just isolated incidents, you are actually wrong on this one sir / madam! But as Italy leans more alt right conservative, guess who’s more at risk?

Popular Alternative (AP)

Only founded in March this year, the AP is a descendant of the New Centre Right, which split off from the People of Freedom (PdL) just before that party became Forza Italia. It sounds confusing (and it is!) but gives some idea of how common breakaway parties and changes in name (and ideology) are on the Italian political scene.

The AP is led by Angelino Alfano, who was secretary of the Berlusconi-led PdL until 2013 and widely expected to eventually take over from Berlusconi. Alfano was Justice Minister under Berlusconi and has held the offices of Interior Minister and Foreign Minister since he struck out on his own. Currently, the AP has 25 deputies (of a total of 630) and 22 senators (of 315).

The AP's ideology has its roots in Christian democracy, and Alfano has been a conservative voice in recent governments on issues such as gay rights, adoption, and surrogacy, which he controversially called for to be treated "like a sex crime". Alfano criticized the PD for moving towards an autumn vote, but has said he is "not afraid" of the five percent threshold.
https://www.thelocal.it/20170602/the-small-political-parties-at-risk-under-italys-new-electoral-law

That was from the flick Inglorious Basterds. I love that movie. But Italy’s just like us. They have rampant racism. They have an election that could be swayed by Vladimir Putin – again. They have far right parties, and extreme far right parties. They even have employers who are just as crazy as our employers!

A worker for highways company Autostrade was sacked after bosses found him asleep in his car when he was meant to be working a shift in the southern Abruzzo region of Italy. He will also have to pay a €3,000 fine to cover legal costs.

The man worked as a security officer for Italy's highways agency, but reportedly made an agreement with a colleague so that they took it in turns to sleep during the night rather than patrolling the road together.

An appeals court in L'Aquila had overturned the decision, with judges saying the sanction was "disproportionate" and that the 51-year-old should have to pay a fine instead.

But Wednesday's ruling from the Court of Cassation, Italy's Supreme Court, said that the nap constituted "total job performance failure".
https://www.thelocal.it/20170608/italys-top-court-says-company-was-right-to-sack-employee-for-sleeping

Damn is right! €3000 for sleeping on the job? Jesus! You know what else Italy is the home of? It’s the original home of the soccer riot! And this happened just last week. Although if you’re American, don’t you dare call it soccer unless you want your ass kicked!

MILAN -- More than 1,500 people were injured when panic swept through a crowd of Juventus fans watching the Champions League final in a piazza in the northern Italian city of Turin, authorities said Sunday.

The Turin prefect said in a statement that the crowd "was taken by panic and by the psychosis of a terror attack," fearing that a loud noise was caused by attackers. The source of the loud noise that triggered the stampede remained unclear, officials said.

The noise triggered panic among thousands of fans gathered in Piazza San Carlo to watch the match pitting Juventus against Real Madrid on giant TV screens. Fans were trampled as they tried to flee.

But what else is going on in Italy? Why they’re working on a situation that is very similar to Brexit that could have serious impacts on the Italian economy, the European Union, and travel to and from abroad:

Emmanuel Macron won the French presidential election on Sunday night. Reading through my Twitter feed of political pundits, I got the impression that many felt the wave of nationalism that swept the United Kingdom and the United States in 2016 had stopped. They don’t anticipate that an election in Italy in 2018 could destabilize the European Union. In fact, it could mean the death of the EU.

Italians are beset by a stagnant economy, an immigration crisis and a corrupt political elite — reasons why the anti-establishment party is likely to win the Italian election next year.

First, Italy’s unemployment rate grew from 11.5 percent in March 2016 to 11.7 percent this March. Italy was one of five European Union countries where joblessness spiked. The overall EU unemployment rate of 8 percent — with Germany’s at 3.9 percent — does not sit well with many Italians.

Second, Italy has been hammered by the debt crisis, and carries the second-largest debt of any nation in the Eurozone, roughly 120 percent of the GDP. In fact, it is the only Eurozone member with a debt higher than Greece. Some policymakers fear that Italy will spark the next global economic crisis: Nearly one-fifth of all loans in Italy’s banking system are classified as troubled. This amounts to 360 billion euros, or the equivalent of $400 billion in the United States.

Third, the immigration crisis has rocked Italy intensely, as the nation is the closest European destination for refugees from war-torn countries in the Middle East. In the past three years alone, 500,000 migrants have arrived in Italy, a number greater than the population of fabled Florence. By early January, 4,400 migrants had died trying to cross the Mediterranean.

The Verdict

If you’re thinking about visiting Italy, do it now before the election. If you’re thinking of moving there, I would say wait until *AFTER* the election.

Know Your Meme: What Is Kek?

A satirical religion with a frog-headed god has become a favorite new way for white nationalists to troll liberals, while spreading their meme-driven strategy.

Who, or what, is Kek?

You may have seen the name bandied about on social media, especially in political circles where alt-right activists and avid Donald Trump supporters lurk. Usually it is brandished as a kind of epithet, seemingly to ward off the effects of liberal arguments, and it often is conveyed in memes that use the image of the alt-right mascot, Pepe the Frog: “Kek!”

Kek, in the alt-right’s telling, is the “deity” of the semi-ironic “religion” the white nationalist movement has created for itself online – partly for amusement, as a way to troll liberals and self-righteous conservatives both, and to make a kind of political point. He is a god of chaos and darkness, with the head of a frog, the source of their memetic “magic,” to whom the alt-right and Donald Trump owe their success, according to their own explanations.

In many ways, Kek is the apotheosis of the bizarre alternative reality of the alt-right: at once absurdly juvenile, transgressive, and racist, as well as reflecting a deeper, pseudo-intellectual purpose that lends it an appeal to young ideologues who fancy themselves deep thinkers. It dwells in that murky area they often occupy, between satire, irony, mockery, and serious ideology; Kek can be both a big joke to pull on liberals and a reflection of the alt-right’s own self-image as serious agents of chaos in modern society.

Most of all, Kek has become a kind of tribal marker of the alt-right: Its meaning obscure and unavailable to ordinary people – “normies,” in their lingo – referencing Kek is most often just a way of signaling to fellow conversants online that the writer embraces the principles of chaos and destruction that are central to alt-right thinking, as it were.

Trump's Lawyer Issues Memo Filled With Typos

Source: Vox

Marc Kasowitz is a longtime attorney for Donald Trump or, as he put it in a letter released today in response to former FBI Director James Comey’s Senate testimony, he’s Predisent Trump’s personal lawyer.

From that opening typo, the letter goes on to make a number of remarkable claims, including the assertion that Comey lied under oath about Trump’s demand of loyalty, the assertion that even though Trump did not make the loyalty demand “he is entitled to expect loyalty from those serving in an administration,” and the strange claim that executive privilege somehow prevents Comey from voluntarily discussing his conversations with Trump with the public.

But even more remarkably, the typo in the first line is not even the only typo in the letter. Kasowitz also misspells the name of Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.

And there are weird extra periods scattered at the end of various paragraphs.

Fox News Complains Wonder Woman Isn't Patriotic Enough

"Wonder Woman," which opened Friday to mostly strong reviews. But over at Fox News, some exception was taken to the superhero's lack of patriotism.

On Friday's edition of "Your World With Neil Cavuto," pundits Dion Baia, Mike Gunzelman and Cavuto debated their concerns on the so-called "un-American" turn the live-action film took. Cavuto began the segment by citing that "some are calling it less American," without citing exactly who took umbrage with Wonder Woman's lack of perceived patriotism.

Cavuto added that Wonder Woman's costume wasn't red, white and blue, and pointed out that "in order to appeal for foreign audiences, [it has] very little reference to America at all."

Baia, one of the show's guest, responded with her belief that "money" is the reasoning behind the lack of patriotism in "Wonder Woman." The panel had cited the importance of appealing to a foreign audience.

"I think, nowadays, sadly, money trumps patriotism," Baia said. "Especially, recently, I personally feel like we're not really very patriotic, the country, in a certain sense. They want these movies to succeed internationally, so they're going to dial back."

Baia claimed on Twitter that his comments were misconstrued. “Taken outta context much?” he tweeted Saturday, referencing an Entertainment Weekly article that said he was "upset."

Top 10 Conservative Idiots #3-1: The Kids Are Alt Right Edition

Top 10 Conservative Idiots #3-1: The Kids Are Alt Right Edition

Welcome back to the Top 10 Conservative Idiots! Boy you guys have been smoking some good Covfefe since we’ve been gone. How do you like our new set everybody? New set, new logo, and Donald J. Trump is still our president. Everything is going to be bigger too, including the music acts we somehow manage to book on our dog and pony show! So really with all the shit going on in the world in the last week - terror attacks in London, Manchester, Iran, and a mass shooting in Orlando, with all the shit going on in the world, are we going to attack Jerry Seinfeld for not hugging Ke$ha? Is that where we’re at as a species in 2017? All our problems have been solved? Terrorism has been solved? Global warming has been solved? Poverty and homelessness have been solved? Great! And you guys do realize that this is the most Seinfeld that Jerry Seinfeld himself has been since his show ended in 1998, am I right? So if you’re complaining about this, you obviously have never seen an episode of Seinfeld. And for those complaining, particularly watch the 6th season episode “The Kiss Hello” and you will see why Seinfeld did this yesterday. You know what? Let’s roll the tape on this.

And like I said this is the most Jerry Seinfeld way that this situation could have possibly been handled, and I can definitely see a Seinfeld episode coming out of this. If this were a Seinfeld episode, George would purposefully go out of his way to try to hug a celebrity, only to get rejected every time. Kramer and Newman would compete to see who could be Ke$ha’s personal assistant. Elaine would be trying to go after Ke$ha’ s PR representative, and Puddy would be well, Puddy. Yeah I could totally see that working as the plot for a Seinfeld reunion episode. Call me, Larry David! OK that’s enough of the intro should But first – John Oliver is back and he takes Trump to town over the decision to pull out of the Paris Accord:

So where do we begin this week? In the number one slot is easily Donald Trump (1) because of what he did to the Paris Accord. Every single country on the planet is participating except one. Can you guess which one? Yeah we’re going to do a deep dive on this. So much that it’s spilling over into a second entry which is of course Donald Trump (2). In the number 3 slot is also Donald Trump (3). So the world is going to shit. We had another mass shooting in Orlando, another terror attack in London, and another whole slew of ridiculous Trump tweets. He just doesn’t quite get it does he? In the number 4 slot, is of course Donald Trump (4). The members of New York’s infamous Lucchese crime family have been arrested, and they all have ties to the president. We’re going to do a deep dive on the mafia in the White House. Hope we don’t get the cement shoes! Taking the number 5 spot is Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin (5). If you guessed he’s a certifiably insane fundie nutjob, you are correct! In the number 6 spot is the Oregon GOP (6). There’s been a lot of death since we’ve been gone, and if you thought Matt Bevin’s proposal to stop violence was insane, wait until you see what the Oregon GOP is proposing! In the number 7 slot, we’re going to consult the Free Speech Police (7). Was what Kathy Griffin did really *THAT* bad? Was what Bill Maher said really *THAT* bad? Yes and yes. But if you saw the Free Speech Police last week, they went apeshit, and these are the same people who claim they own free speech, when they say something that racist. Taking the number 8 slot is Ivanka Trump. You know, Memorial Day isn’t exactly what one would call a “happy” holiday but that doesn’t matter to Ivanka. And also never mind that she’s following in her father’s footsteps as to who can produce the most insensitive tweet, as she managed to piss off America’s entire LGBT community in one tweet. In the number 9 (NEIN!!!!) slot, we’re going to do another edition of “Who’s The Snowflake?”. And whew, there were a lot of white male right wing snowflakes this week. You have Joshua Feuersetein, "Coach" Dave Daubenmire, more nut jobs complaining about the Alamo Drafthouse, and Sean Hannity doesn't understand the concept of satire. Yeah that happened. And finally this week – we are going to begin the Top 10 Conservative Idiots World Tour! So how do you top a 15 round Stupidest State contest? Easy – we’re going to go around the world! And our first destination? Why it’s none other than France (10)! Plus we have some live music for you to close things out this week - our music guests are getting bigger! This time, a little band called Flogging Molly! I mean if you don’t have their new album “Life Is Good”, which came out last week, you’re no friend of this show. They will be stopping by to play something for it, so get your pints of Guinness ready! Enjoy! And as always don’t forget the key!

[div style="padding: 20px; background-color: #ffffff; border-radius: 10px; box-shadow: 0px 2px 4px 1px #aaa;"][div style="font-family: arial, helvetica; font-weight: bold; border-bottom: 1px dotted #999; padding-bottom: 8px;"]

[br]

It doesn’t get much more evil than this, folks. And I don’t want to go as extreme as saying that what Trump did last week is an act of war, but yeah it’s kind of an act of war. Of course we’re talking about Trump’s decision to leave the Paris Accord, which has just about everyone who’s not a deplorable up in arms about what has been going on. It’s pissed off a lot of fucking people. I’ve been saying for a while that he’s going mad with power, and this may have been a step too far. Even France’s new president Emmanuel Macron is already taking jabs at Trump:

https://twitter.com/EmmanuelMacron/status/870407981044834304

But this is a colossal fuck up on multiple levels. Let’s explain more:
---
President Donald Trump is planning to pull the United States out of the Paris climate change agreement, a White House official said Wednesday morning — only to have Trump himself revive the suspense less than an hour later.

The withdrawal would fulfill a Trump campaign promise but would be certain to infuriate America’s allies across the globe. It would threaten to destabilize the most comprehensive pact ever negotiated to blunt the most devastating effects of climate change. And it would fly in the face of support the deal has drawn from a host of major business interests, including giant oil companies such as Shell and Exxon Mobil.

Intrigue surrounding Paris has accelerated in the past week, after Pope Francis and other world leaders pressed Trump during his European visit not to abandon the nearly 200-nation 2015 agreement. Administration officials said they are still sorting out the details of how exactly Trump would withdraw, and one noted that nothing is final until an announcement is made.

Yeah BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! No points for you sir, thank you for playing! Yeah. You know what this is like? Remember back during the Bush administration when Bush had that “big decision” on abortion that he was going to make and all the hype that led up to it while he disappeared for two weeks? And he sided with the assholes? Well, Trump went on his World Deplorable Tour, and now he’s back and it’s just like that. And we could talk about all the states and governors who Trump has pissed off, because Trump sided with the assholes. But here’s where it gets weird.
---
President Donald Trump’s campaign announced a “Pittsburgh, not Paris” rally across from the White House on Saturday to celebrate the United States’ withdrawal from a global climate agreement.

The Fairfax County Republican Committee and the Republican Party of Virginia are sponsoring the rally in Lafayette Square, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, according to an announcement from the Trump campaign.

“As you know, the President has been under siege from the mainstream media and the Democrats, especially now that he put American jobs first by withdrawing from the Paris Accord. Therefore, we are organizing a group to demonstrate our support for President Trump and his fearless leadership,” the invitation reads.

---

What the fuck? Why would he want to hold climate talks in Pittsburgh? And he really thinks he’s going to get the rest of the world to go along with this? I mean Paris has the Arc De Triumph, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, I could go on and on. Pittsburgh has… the Pengiuns? Yeah go Pengiuns! Woo! Even the mayor of Pittsburgh is pissed at Trump:
---
The mayor of Pittsburgh fired back at President Trump Thursday for his use of the city in rationalizing withdrawing from the Paris climate agreement, saying the city will continue to follow the deal.

Bill Peduto (D) tweeted Thursday that "it's now up to cities to lead" after Trump announced that the U.S. will pull out of the Paris climate deal.

Yeah he’s right – the city of Pittsburgh *OVERWHELMINGLY* voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. But you know why he did it, and why the deplorables are cheerleading it? Yup – you guessed it, spite for liberals!
---
As Donald Trump does his best to destroy the world’s hopes of reining in climate change, let’s be clear about one thing: This has nothing to do with serving America’s national interest. The U.S. economy, in particular, would do just fine under the Paris accord. This isn’t about nationalism; mainly, it’s about sheer spite.

About the economics: At this point, I think, we have a pretty good idea of what a low-emissions economy would look like. I’m sure that energy experts will disagree on the details, but the broad outline isn’t hard to describe.

Clearly, it would be an economy running on electricity — electric cars, electric heat, with internal combustion engines rare. The bulk of that electricity would, in turn, come from nonpolluting sources: wind, solar and, yes, probably nuclear.

Of course, sometimes the wind doesn’t blow or the sun shine when people want power. But there are multiple ways to deal with that issue: a robust grid that can ship electricity to where it’s needed; storage of various forms (batteries, but also maybe things like pumped hydro); dynamic pricing that encourages customers to use less power when it’s scarce and more when it isn’t; and some surge capacity — probably from relatively low-emission natural-gas-fired generators — to cope with whatever mismatch remains.

And the answer to the question “What would a dick do?” is not attend a global summit on climate change that literally every country in the world is attending. Well every country in the world except for 3 – Syria, Nicaragua, and now the United States. Yeah I’m not sure I want to be on the side of Syria and Nicaragua. Even our enemies Iraq and Afghanistan are attending this thing. By the way, how bad is it that our Secretary Of State just issued a big “fuck you” to the world?
---
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson insisted Monday that President Trump was "not walking away" from taking action to address climate change — even though the commander-in-chief just four days earlier withdrew the U.S. from the landmark Paris Climate Accord.

"He's simply walking away from what he felt was an agreement that did not serve the American people well," Tillerson told the AP during an official trip to Australia, adding that Trump was "not walking away" from addressing climate change itself.

Trump would consider "perhaps a new construct of an agreement" and "wants to stay engaged on the issue," he added, without confronting that fact that multiple European leaders said last week following Trump's withdrawal that the deal could not be renegotiated.

On Thursday, Trump announced he'd be pulling the U.S. out of the Paris pact — a decision that sparked intense condemnation from world leaders, business executives across the U.S. and lawmakers on virtually every level of government.

Yeah BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! This is essentially their “let them eat cake” moment. More like “let them eat 2 degrees Celsius” moment. And of course we must, in typical Top 10 fashion, fact check. Because Trump is once again, wrong on everything.
---
In announcing that the U.S. would withdraw from the Paris Agreement, a global accord aimed at addressing climate change, President Trump made more than a few false and misleading claims:

Trump said the U.S. would be exposed to “massive legal liability if we stay in” the Paris Agreement. But there is no liability mechanism in the Paris Agreement. International environmental law experts tell us that pulling out of the agreement won’t reduce U.S. exposure to liability claims and, in fact, may increase it.
Trump called China and India the “world’s leading polluters,” referring to carbon emissions. That’s not accurate. China and the U.S. were the top emitters per kiloton in 2015.
The president also falsely said “nobody even knows where the money [in the Green Climate Fund] is going to.” The fund’s website outlines all of the projects that have been funded.
Trump said the agreement would cost “close to $3 trillion in lost GDP.” That’s one estimate from a report for a business-funded group that found a much smaller impact under a different scenario. Yet another analysis said the impact of meeting the emissions targets would be “modest.”
Trump again took credit for job gains, saying the economy has added more than a million private sector jobs since his election. That’s true, but only 493,000 of them were added since he took office.

By the way in case you’re wondering who the winners and losers are, well, if you guessed that the winners were big coal mining companies and the losers were poor developing countries, you are correct!
---
Winner: coal executives (but not coal workers)

The US coal industry is collapsing — make no bones about it. But some coal companies, particularly ones operating in Kentucky and Wyoming, retain remarkable political influence and have long pushed Trump to exit the accord.

Winner: the GOP and the conservative movement

While the central storyline about the political figures who convinced Trump to pull out of Paris focused on Steve Bannon, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt, and White House counsel Don McGahn — all known to have vigorously opposed the agreement — there’s a lot more to it.

Winner: China

So the US is no longer going to lead on climate change. That leaves other developed countries, and really China, to steer the ship. Like Europe, China has already emerged as a leader on green energy and technology. It’s expecting to reach its Paris target early.

Loser: Donald Trump

Trump, no doubt, is feeling like a winner today after his big speech on Paris. But history suggests this decision is going to make him a loser. He may be unaware, or simply dismissive, of the repercussions. But they could very likely be severe, not just to his presidency but to US diplomacy and to US companies that want to do business overseas for years to come.

Where’s Trumpy? Can we get Trumpy out here?

By the way, in case you’re wondering if the decision plus Trump’s current erratic behavior has any affect on his poll numbers, well…
---
Virtually every single poll tracking President Donald Trump's approval rating showed the figure plummeting Monday morning, well below the margin of error compared to the rising level of support for impeachment. The results follow Trump's controversial decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate accord; the ongoing investigation into his campaign’s possible ties to the Kremlin is also a factor.

The president's approval rating dipped from nearly 42 percent to just 36 percent over the weekend, according to a Gallup daily tracking poll published Monday. Trump's declining popularity is inching closer toward his all-time low of 35 percent as president in March, when Gallup had the president’s approval at just 35 percent. What's more, nearly 43 percent of American voters support the idea of beginning the official impeachment process for Trump, according to a Politico/Morning Consult poll published Wednesday.

There are slight discrepancies between several leading polls as to where the president’s approval officially stands, though each tracking poll published Monday and over the weekend seemed to show a decline in popularity following Trump's decision on the Paris Agreement. Even right-leaning poll sites like Rasmussen Reports are indicating dips in support for the president's job performance, reporting that as of Monday, 54 percent of the nation disapproves of Trump’s tenure as commander in chief.

Pop quiz hot shot! The capital city of our closest allies was attacked last week which resulted in seven people dead and many more injured, and ISIS is claiming responsibility for the attack. So if you’re 45th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, what do you do?

Why of course he’d do all of the above. Because as John Oliver said that Trump is the wrong answer to everything. Why did the chicken cross the road? To be served in a bucket at Los Pollos Hermanos! What color is the sky? Red! What was the highest grossing movie this weekend? Captain Underpants! Who was the star of Breaking Bad? Jerry Seinfeld! I could do this all day. So what did Trump tweet about when news of the terror attacks broke?

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/871331574649901056

What would a dick do? Well ask that question because we had another mass shooting terror attack this week.
---
(CNN)Five people, including the shooter, are dead after a shooting at an Orlando, Florida business headquarters, CNN affiliate WFTV reports.

Police say there is no connection to terrorism. It appears to be a work-related incident, WFTV says.

Police reported earlier they were investigating a "multiple fatality" shooting, according to Capt. Angelo Nieves with the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Holy fuck! So a mass shooting happens literally the day after the president tweets about how we shouldn’t have a gun debate because guns weren’t being used in London, and the police were passing this off as a “workplace inicident”? I don’t remember this being in any HR manual at any job I’ve ever worked at! If you get in a fight with your supervisor, it is best if you blast a cap in that ass. So when is a good time to talk about guns, Donald? Any? Well another installment of “What The Fuck Did Trump Tweet About?” just happened. As if we didn’t need a reminder!

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/870445001125355522

No that’s not the one I’m looking for. Yeah he needed to remind us that we’re not MAGA-ing it enough lately!

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/871328428963901440

Which of course prompted some much deserved backlash:

London (CNN)US President Donald Trump renewed his criticism of London Mayor Sadiq Khan on Monday, a day after attacking his handling of the weekend's terror attack in the city.
Trump, writing on Twitter Monday, said: "Pathetic excuse by London Mayor Sadiq Khan who had to think fast on his 'no reason to be alarmed' statement. MSM is working hard to sell it!"

It is the second day that Trump has twisted the mayor's words. In the immediate aftermath of the attack, Khan said there was "no cause for alarm" when referring to a visible increase in police activity on the streets of London.
http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/05/politics/trump-criticizes-london-mayor-sadiq-khan-again/index.html

So why are you criticizing the mayor of London? Never mind that terrorists get their weapons from Saudi Arabia. And never mind that Saudi Arabia gets its’ weapons from the US. And never mind that Trump literally gave $110 billion in weapons to Saudi Arabia. So congratulations Trump, you literally just armed the terrorists! Do you need to go stroke the orb again?

Oh there’s no cause for alarm. Trump just told the mayor of London to fuck off after a terrorist attack. I mean could this possibly get any worse? Oh yes! We’re not done yet! What exactly was he doing when the terror attacks happened? He was golfing at a Trump brand golf course (not Mar-A-Lago) with Peyton Manning. You can’t make this shit up. So much for being “tough on terror”.

NASHVILLE - In a move bound to start political rumors flying yet again about his future Tennessee political aspirations, two-time Superbowl champion Peyton Manning appears to have gone golfing Sunday with President Donald Trump and U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn.
An Associated Press photographer snapped a picture of Manning, a former University of Tennessee star quarterback, and Corker as they exited from Trump's motorcade which was returning from Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va.
.....

A spokeswoman for Corker, a former Chattanooga mayor and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, did not immediately respond to a series of questions posted by the Times Free Press about the outing.
...

Back in January, there was considerable buzzing nationally as well as in Tennessee GOP circles after Manning was invited to speak to congressional Republicans at their annual retreat.

The speculation? U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., didn't intend to seek reelection in 2020.
https://www.google.com/amp/amp.timesfreepress.com/news/breakingnews/story/2017/jun/04/peyton-manning-apparently-joins-donald-trump-bob-corker-sunday-golf-outing/431669/

Is he Bush here? I mean really how much is he going to keep golfing? Remember how much he criticized Obama for golfing when he should be presedenting?

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/547876653175566336

Presedenting is hard, people! So what was Khan’s response to Trump’s tweet?

The stoic determination and decency of the British people and their leaders were on full display in the hours after the latest horrific terrorist rampage. The Brits fought back, launching drinking glasses and chairs at the savages who attacked them. The police acted with lightning-fast precision, killing the three assailants within eight minutes of the emergency call. And, God Bless him, a man returned to the bar where he experienced Saturday’s horror — to pay his bill and tip. Civilization is not going to be driven out of Britain by three or three hundred killers.

Meanwhile — and it pains me to write this — our president acted like a clod, a heartless and dull-witted thug in sending out a series of tweets. He — commander in chief and leader of the Free World — first retweeted an unverified, unofficial Drudge headline about the unfolding terrorist attack. Then he aimed to bolster his Muslim travel ban (which is not supposed to be a Muslim travel ban). “We need to be smart, vigilant and tough,” he tweeted. “We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety!” (Aside from the inappropriateness of President Trump’s tweet, he fails to grasp that the courts in these cases are reaffirming our rights against an overreaching, discriminatory edict.)

And of course Trump can’t help himself:

President Trump today doubled down on his attacks on London Mayor Sadiq Khan in the wake of this weekend’s terrorist attack in London that left seven people dead and dozens more injured.

"Pathetic excuse by London Mayor Sadiq Khan who had to think fast on his 'no reason to be alarmed' statement," Trump wrote on Twitter this morning.

Trump had first criticized Khan Sunday, tweeting, "At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is "no reason to be alarmed!"

A spokesperson for Khan Sunday called Trump's remark "ill-informed" and said it took the mayor's words out of context.

Yes that’s our current president Donald J. Trump partying with Joseph Cinque, aka Joey No Socks, of the notorious Gambino Crime Family at his Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida on New Year’s Eve. But this week, while we were paying attention to Trump’s nonsense, whatever nonsense he was up to, this happened:

Top-ranking members of the Lucchese crime family – including ruling boss Matthew Madonna and his second-in-command Steven Crea Sr. – were busted Wednesday on federal racketeering charges, including murder, authorities said.

Madonna and underboss Crea Sr., aka “Wonder Boy,” as well as consigliere Joseph DiNapoli, and four others – Steven Crea Jr., Dominic Truscello, John “Big John” Castelucci and Tindaro “Tino” Corso – who served as captains or acting captains were among 19 charged in a superseding indictment unsealed Wednesday.

Soldiers Joseph Venice, James “Jimmy the Jew” Maffucci, Joseph “Big Joe” and “Joey Glasses” Datello, Paul “Paulie Roast Beef” Cassano, Christopher Londonio and several others were also nabbed.

The crew of goodfellas was allegedly behind the 2013 murder of Michael Meldish, a former leader of the notorious Purple Gang, who did jobs for the Lucchese and Genovese families.
http://nypost.com/2017/05/31/nearly-two-dozen-lucchese-crime-family-members-arrested/

Holy shit! Did these guys take lessons on creating awesome Mafia names? You have “Jimmy The Jew”, “Joey Glasses”, “Paulie Roast Beef” (BTW, I am calling my new sandwich shop that), and a guy who simply calls himself “The Baker”. So what does this have to do with our 45th president, you might ask?

The FBI has announced the arrest of twenty alleged mafia members in New York City. While nothing has been officially signaled about why these particular individuals were busted at this particular time, it’s worth pointing out that they do have indirect business ties to Donald Trump.

The FBI New York account on Twitter posted a link to the press release on the website for the Southern District of New York, which announced that the arrested individuals were from the Lucchese Family (link). The press release went on to state that the arrests included the entire leadership of the family. So this was clearly a takedown of Lucchese.

Back in 2016, after Ted Cruz accused Donald Trump of having mafia ties, leading fact checking site PolitiFact posted the following: “Trump World Tower, supported by the Quadrozzi Concrete Company, is also tangentially related to La Cosa Nostra. The head of the company, John Quadrozzi Sr., was tied to the Lucchese crime family and indicted for making illegal payoffs to the mob in 1992.” (link)
http://www.palmerreport.com/politics/mafia-nyc-trump-bust/3197/

Well when you consider who our current president is, sure! You know the republicans made so much shit talk about Hillary Clinton having ties to the mob, but guess who really does? Yup! It’s our 45th president, Donald J. Trump!

In his signature book, The Art of the Deal, Donald Trump boasted that when he wanted to build a casino in Atlantic City, he persuaded the state attorney general to limit the investigation of his background to six months. Most potential owners were scrutinized for more than a year. Trump argued that he was “clean as a whistle”—young enough that he hadn’t had time to get into any sort of trouble. He got the sped-up background check, and eventually got the casino license.

But Trump was not clean as a whistle. Beginning three years earlier, he’d hired mobbed-up firms to erect Trump Tower and his Trump Plaza apartment building in Manhattan, including buying ostensibly overpriced concrete from a company controlled by mafia chieftains Anthony “Fat Tony” Salerno and Paul Castellano. That story eventually came out in a federal investigation, which also concluded that in a construction industry saturated with mob influence, the Trump Plaza apartment building most likely benefited from connections to racketeering. Trump also failed to disclose that he was under investigation by a grand jury directed by the U.S. attorney in Brooklyn, who wanted to learn how Trump obtained an option to buy the Penn Central railroad yards on the West Side of Manhattan.
http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/05/donald-trump-2016-mob-organized-crime-213910

And in case you can’t think this could possibly get any crazier, Trump reportedly did business with a real life mobster named Fat Tony – who is in no relation to the beloved Simpsons character and leader of the Springfield Mafia:

It should come as no surprise that Donald Trump, a man who bullies his opponents like a mobster, allegedly had business dealings with members of organized crime groups.

In a deeply reported piece for Politico, veteran Philadelphia Inquirer reporter David Cay Johnston details dealings with the mob-owned firms and corrupt labor fixers that allowed the Republican presidential candidate to erect his famous Trump Tower and his Trump Plaza buildings in Manhattan. The story even includes a gangster whose nickname is “Fat Tony.”

According to Johnston, a federal indictment of that same man—“Fat Tony” Salerno, boss of the Genovese crime family—found that Trump paid extra for concrete in exchange for union peace.

Kentucky’s new governor is batshit insane. Never mind that we just had yet another “active shooter” situation in Orlando and a terror attack in London this week. No guns were fired by the terrorists, but police shot back – and they shot back with about as many bullets as Charlie Sheen did in “Hot Shots Part Deux”.

London (CNN)Armed officers responding to the London Bridge terror attack fired an "unprecedented" number of rounds at the three attackers because they were wearing what appeared to be suicide belts, police said.
Eight officers fired 50 shots at three attackers to ensure they were neutralized, said Mark Rowley, assistant commissioner for specialist operations in the Metropolitan Police Service. Rowley is Britain's most senior counterterrorism office.
http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/04/europe/london-terror-attack-new/index.html

That was Hot Shots Part Deux. So what is Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin’s solution to a mass shooting? You are not going to believe this one.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin called on the "power of prayer" to help combat Louisville's rising murder rate as he urged people to form prayer groups to walk high-crime neighborhoods.

His plan, outlined at a community meeting, was met with a mix of support and derision. Bevin urged volunteers to form teams of 3-10 people that pick the same block to walk at the same time of day, at least two or three times a week. He urged participants to make a yearlong commitment.

"Go around the block, pause on each corner, pray for the people there, move to the next corner," Bevin said later in describing his plan to reporters at a city park. "And over the course of the year, here's what's going to happen - they're going to get to know the people on the block."

Bevin, a socially conservative Republican, said it's a chance for "people of faith to put their faith to work." He hopes residents from the neighborhoods walk with people living elsewhere.
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/kentucky-governors-plan-to-combat-rising-louisville-murder-rate-pray/

Yeah sorry Matt, we can’t get behind “pray away the bullets”. But that’s not the only reason the Kentucky governor is in the news this week. So Louisville has one of the highest crime rates in the country and his plan is to form “prayer circles”. You know why are republicans so afraid of “the public square”? That’s always one of their big talking points. We may need to explore that in “how is this still a thing” sometime soon. And in case you were wondering about the reaction to the governor’s plan, well, it was a swing and a miss.

The family members of Louisville children who were victims of gun violence were also present.

The reaction from those listening to Bevin appeared to be mixed. Some of the room gave Bevin a standing ovation while others shouted criticism.

A group of people walked out of the meeting after they said they didn’t get a chance to talk.

A man w/ Dr Kevin Cosby shouts: it's 11:30, we didn't get to speak. Group walks out as Gov Bevin continues to speak. @WHAS11 pic.twitter.com/AHkshImvYS— Chris Williams (@chriswnews) June 1, 2017
http://www.whas11.com/news/politics/gov-bevin-announces-plan-to-stop-crime-in-louisville/444822273

And by the way this wasn’t the only thing Matt Bevin is in the news for this week. He apparently engaged in a bit of quid pro quo in regards to his Alaska mansion:

Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin, facing an ethics complaint about the unusually low purchase price of the Anchorage mansion he's living in, took to Twitter on Saturday to personally attack a journalist who has been reporting about the controversy.

Bevin called Courier-Journal reporter Tom Loftus a "sick man" for allegedly being "caught sneaking" around Bevin's home and property.

Bevin's tweet, which said that Loftus was "removed by state police," was in reference to an instance two months ago — in March — when Loftus went to the governor's new Anchorage mansion, according to Bevin spokeswoman Amanda Stamper. The governor ended the tweet with the hashtag "#PeepingTom."

Look, we’re not making fun of terrorists, terrorism, or death here at the Top 10. Death is never funny no matter which way you look at it. Instead what we’re doing is making fun of how our leaders are reacting to mass shootings and terror attacks. While we slide down the path to World War III, and a possible Civil War here at home, the best solution that our leaders have to stop violence is praying. But in Oregon, their solution to stop violence is with more violence.

Multnomah County GOP chair James Buchal, however, told the Guardian that recent street protests had prompted Portland Republicans to consider alternatives to “abandoning the public square”.

“I am sort of evolving to the point where I think that it is appropriate for Republicans to continue to go out there,” he said. “And if they need to have a security force protecting them, that’s an appropriate thing too.”

Asked if this meant Republicans making their own security arrangements rather than relying on city or state police, Buchal said: “Yeah. And there are these people arising, like the Oath Keepers and the Three Percenters.”

Asked if he was considering such groups as security providers, Buchal said: “Yeah. We’re thinking about that. Because there are now belligerent, unstable people who are convinced that Republicans are like Nazis.”

Buchal ran for Oregon attorney general in 2012 and has stood for election to Congress and the state legislature. The Oath Keepers are described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as “one of the largest radical antigovernment groups in the US”, recruiting current and former military and law enforcement personnel. They have recently appeared at rallies from Berkeley, California, to Boston, standing with activists from the far right, activists holding what were once fringe positions who have recently risen to national prominence.

Yeah their solution to stopping violence is to use more violence! You really can’t make this shit up folks! That would be like throwing a Molotov cocktail at your car that’s already on fire, to put the fire out! I mean could they really be any more stupid? Oh yeah! Yeah they could! This is the type of insanity that they want to bring on Oregon.

Christian had been a prominent and vocal participant in recent “alt-right” rallies in Portland. At a “free speech rally” in Montavilla City Park on 29 April he was captured on video wrapped in an American flag, giving Nazi salutes. Earlier that day, police reportedly confiscated a baseball bat from him. Local reporters captured him yelling racial slurs and threatening to shoot “anyone who tries to disarm me”.

Cat Davila, who was among counterprotesters at the rally, said Christian “showed up part way through the event and came striding straight toward the counter-demonstrator crowd very purposefully waving a baseball bat by his side and staring us down”. As he drew closer, Davila said, police “blocked him and took his bat and from then on he just yelled a lot”.

Christian’s Facebook page revealed obsessive concern with far-right themes. In recent weeks he posted memes and other material attacking “antifascist” protesters who have clashed with various “alt-right” rallies around the country. In the lead-up to the April rally, he posted: “Looking for a couple guys or gals down to unmask anyone wear[ing] a mask at the upcoming Free Speech March”, referring to the anti-fascist practice of disguising protesters’ identities.

Seriously, the stupidity of Trump fans drives me to drink more. Ah, where ya been man? Oh yeah that’s good shit. Let’s continue to delve into the madness here. I mean it’s crazier than you would think. You can’t fight violence with violence when this is the type of insane person we’re dealing with:

Christian also posted openly antisemitic and neo-Nazi material. On 9 May, he claimed to have challenged Nuremberg prosecutor Ben Ferencz to a future debate, in which “I will defend the Nazis”. The same day, he posted “Hail Vinland!!! Hail Victory!!!”, combining a familiar catchphrase that was used at a post-election rally by the activist Richard Spencer.

Portland-based antifascist researcher Shane Burley, author of the forthcoming book Fascism Today, told the Guardian that “Vinland” refers to the area of eastern Canada that Leif Erikson supposedly settled from Iceland. On the far right, he said, it is used as a way of asserting that white nationalists “are Vikings in a new land continuing the ancient battle for the preservation of their people”.

Just wow. So he quotes Vikings and defends Hitler. And says that he wants to decapitate people who circumcise. Quite the charming individual we’re dealing with here. You know what? Time to call in the Free Speech Police. You know things are truly fucked up when this happens:

Donald Trump’s campaign and election have added an alarming twist to school bullying, with white students using the president's words and slogans to bully Latino, Middle Eastern, black, Asian, and Jewish classmates. In the first comprehensive review of post-election bullying, BuzzFeed News has confirmed more than 50 incidents, across 26 states, in which a K-12 student invoked Trump’s name or message in an apparent effort to harass a classmate during the past school year.

In the parking lot of a high school in Shakopee, Minnesota, boys in Donald Trump shirts gathered around a black teenage girl and sang a portion of “The Star Spangled Banner,” replacing the closing line with “and the home of the slaves.” On a playground at an elementary school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, third-graders surrounded a boy and chanted “Trump! Trump! Trump!”

On a school bus in San Antonio, Texas, a white eighth-grader said to a Filipino classmate, “You are going to be deported.” In a classroom in Brea, California, a white eighth-grader told a black classmate, “Now that Trump won, you're going to have to go back to Africa, where you belong.” In the hallway of a high school in San Carlos, California, a white student told two biracial girls to “go back home to whatever country you're from.” In Louisville, Kentucky, a third-grade boy chased a Latina girl around the classroom shouting “build the wall!” In a stadium parking lot in Jacksonville, Florida, after a high school football game, white students chanted at black students from the opposing school: “Donald Trump! Donald Trump! Donald Trump!”
Today’s high schoolers will be eligible to vote in 2020, and today’s fifth graders will be eligible to vote in 2024.

The first school year of the Donald Trump presidency left educators struggling to navigate a climate where misogyny, religious intolerance, name-calling, and racial exclusion have become part of mainstream political speech.

Yeah kids - kids!!!! The kids are alt right now! Are quoting Trump to bully their classmates! And how do you police that when the parents are doing it too, and our president himself is a giant bully? Before we get into the meat of this, here’s the challenger – Margaret Court. We already covered Kathy Griffin’s insane stunt in Minis #3. But Margaret Court on the other hand is when fundies say something horrifically stupid and every bit as offensive as what Bill Maher said last week. Is there any difference? You be the judge!

The former tennis champion Margaret Court has claimed “tennis is full of lesbians” following a row over remarks she made previously about gay marriage. She added that transgender children were the work of “the devil”.

Court’s earlier comments opposing same-sex marriage sparked furious debate about whether the show court named in her honour at Melbourne Park should be changed. However, she said that attempts to remove her name from it were “bullying”.

In an interview with Vision Christian Radio on Wednesday, Court claimed that a “gay lobby” was trying to “get the minds of children” through Australia’s Safe Schools anti-bullying program.

“Tennis is full of lesbians. Even when I was playing there were only a couple there but those couple that led took young ones into parties,” Court said. “And what you get at the top is often what you’ll get right through that sport.”

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2017/may/31/margaret-court-tennis-reaction-same-sex-marriage-opposition-is-bullying

To which Tennis great John McEnroe replied – and this is the correct response when something that blatantly stupid and offensive is said about the LGBT community:

Court claimed that Tennis is "full of lesbians" and that transgender children were the work of the devil.

“Margaret Court is telling us, ‘Tennis is full of lesbians,’” McEnroe said in his response. “The way I see it, there are three options regarding this statement. Number one―this is true, and who gives a fuck? Number two―this is not true, and who should give a fuck? And number three―this is half-true, and should we really give a fuck?”

“When same-sex marriage becomes legal in Australia, I will personally call my good friend Elton John to host the biggest same-sex mass wedding ceremony ever seen—in Margaret Court Arena. Margaret, that’s just the kind of guy I am.”

And then there was this that an editor for Breitbart said. I mean really, how the fuck can you be too racist for Breitbart?

A Breitbart editor has been sacked after posting anti-Muslim tweets following the London terror attack.

The editor, Katie McHugh, who previously worked at The Daily Caller, said in a tweet Monday that

“Breitbart News fired me for telling the truth about Islam and Muslim immigration.”

McHugh was criticized for a tweet Saturday, in which she wrote "there would be no deadly terror attacks in the U.K. if Muslims didn't live there."

She then became involved in a twitter spat with actor Pej Vahdat.

"You're a real moron," Vahdat responded to her tweet about Muslims.

Now juxtapose that with what Bill Maher said. In this corner is our defendant, Bill Maher. You know last week about the Kathy Griffin incident / clusterfuck. Was what she did really that bad? Was what Bill Maher said last week really that bad? Well, we’ll let you be the judge! We are actually not going to roll the tape on this one, because even HBO has deleted it. So what did Maher say?

ORIGINAL STORY: HBO denounced Bill Maher for his “completely inexcusable and tasteless” use of a racial slur on Friday’s episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, joining a chorus of celebrities and activists calling out the comic for saying the N-word.

“Bill Maher’s comment last night was completely inexcusable and tasteless. We are removing his deeply offensive comment from any subsequent airings of the show,” HBO said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.

Maher uttered the slur while joking with Ben Sasse, a Republican senator from Nebraska, on Friday night.

Sasse appeared as a guest to promote his new book, The Vanishing American Adult, and noted how adults dressing up for Halloween is “frowned upon” more in his state than in other areas. When Maher said, “I’ve got to get to Nebraska more,” Sasse replied, “We’d love to have you work in the fields with us.”
http://ew.com/tv/2017/06/03/bill-maher-n-word-real-time/

Was what Bill Maher said really that bad? Was what Kathy Griffin did really that bad? Do we liberals condone this sort of behavior? The answer to all 3 of these things is yes. We should condone it whether it’s blatant or subtle. But is it really that bad in the context of how the media defended Trump over his blatantly sexist “locker room talk”?

Yeah because Ben Carson is the go to expert for what passes for “locker room talk”. What fucked up kind of lockers are they using? You know let’s ask the fans what they thought of the Bill Maher controversy.

Sunday evening, Maher performed at the Murat Theatre at Old National Center in Indianapolis.

We caught up with a few people attending his show, to see what they thought of the controversy.

Chris:

"I think it's overblown. I think everyone is a little too sensitive and I think the context of what he said is being ignored overall. ... I think that even the joke that he did was in possibly poor taste. I think it was off-the-cuff and I think even thought 'Maybe I shouldn't have done that.' Right after he said it. ... It doesn't diminish what he does as a comedian. I harken back to a George Carlin bit where [Carlin] runs off with an entire litany of racial slurs and words people find offensive but then comes back to, again, context."
http://www.theindychannel.com/news/local-news/what-local-bill-maher-fans-thought-of-latest-controversy

Yes I love that bit. I wonder what Carlin himself would be saying about the free speech police card that’s being played right now? You know conservatives love to play the free speech card when they start spouting Nazi propaganda and using racial slurs. But one thing we can all learn about Maher and Kathy Griffin is that it was a teachable moment in how to be better than the republicans when they play the “free speech” card:

Comedian Bill Maher has built a career on dividing people into sets and knocking down the ones he cares for least: women, Muslims, non-atheists.

When he used a racial slur and made light of slavery all in one phrase it was a new low, but a pretty predictable one. So it's tempting to write him off and turn away.

I hope we don't — at least not before using his Friday night exchange as a way to talk to our kids about being upstanders.

First, some background. Maher was hosting Sen. Ben Sasse, Republican from Nebraska, on his HBO show, "Real Time." They were discussing adulthood and whether it's in short supply, the topic of Sasse's new book.

Sasse invited Maher to visit Nebraska sometime: "We'd love to have you work in the fields with us." And Maher replied: "Work in the fields? Senator, I'm a house (racial slur)."

Oh and by the way stop it, people. At least that’s what Joy Behar wants you to think.

Monday on The View, hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg defended and downplayed two left-wing comedians who got into hot water this past week. After Kathy Griffin posed in a photo with a bloodied, severed head of the president, and then later played the victim after being called out for the egregious display, HBO Real Time host Bill Maher caused outrage after using the “N-word” during an interview with Senator Ben Sasse on his Friday show. Despite both cases receiving bipartisan backlash, the radically liberal hosts on The View actually defended both comedians’ actions.

Adamantly anti-Trump host Joy Behar led the charge in defending Maher’s word choice on Monday’s show. Behar rationalized, Maher was “one of the good guys,” in fighting the president so he deserved a pass:

Ivanka Trump
[br]
[br]

Celebrity lifestyle brands sell pretty much steaming loads of horseshit. For instance – both Ivanka Trump and Gwyneth Paltrow have lifestyle brands. The latter’s is called GOOP, and well, it’s time for the annual GOOP convention in Los Angeles:

Step aside, World Health Organization, there's a new conclave of health-and-wellness experts in town, and they come bearing Sweetgreen salads and Moon Juice "spirit dust." Gwyneth Paltrow's infamous lifestyle brand Goop will host its first-ever 'wellness summit' in L.A. on June 10th, reports Vanity Fair.

Non-toxic manicures, crystal therapy and hydrating I.V. drips will be on offer at June's "In Goop Health" summit, according to the event site; the location for "In Goop Health" has been chosen but will not be released at this time, a Goop press rep told LAist, prompting us to speculate that it's somewhere super-secret and mystical, like an enchanted cave or the Bermuda Triangle. The summit's panels will feature an array of Goop acolytes, including Girls collaborators Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, actresses Cameron Diaz and Nicole Richie, fitness trainer Tracy Anderson, fashion designer Tory Burch and "Clean Program" founder Dr. Alejandro Junger.
http://laist.com/2017/04/25/goop_health_summit.php

Oh and by the way – here’s what that gets you, and my favorite part is bolded:

"Lapis" ticket, $500:
- Access to every panel and keynote
- “Wellness activations” like crystal therapy and aura photography
- Clean and gourmet food and drinks from brands like Moon Juice and Tropicana Probiotics
- A $200 “adult goody bag” of Goop-endorsed products.

"Amethyst" ticket, $1000: everything from "Lapis," plus:
- A cocktail reception with Gwyneth herself
- A foam-roller workout with "body whisperer" Lauren Roxburgh
- A mini-version of "The Class" led by founder Taryn Toomey
- A $350 "adult goody bag" of Goop-endorsed products

"Clear Quartz" ticket, $1500:
- Everything from "Lapis" and "Amethyst," plus:
- Private morning sound meditation class with Sara Auster, followed by Gwyneth's breakfast pick (wouldn't it be great if 'Gwyneth's breakfast pick' was a microwavable Jimmy Dean Sausage, Egg & Cheese biscuit?)
- Lunch with Gwyneth and select panelists, "curated" by Chef Seamus Mullen
- A set of Tumi luggage packed with $500 of Goop-endorsed products,
- 3 months of early access to new Goop releases
- Valet parking (this one's the kicker)

Yeah $1500 gets you free valet parking, but it’s not included in the $1,000 or $500 levels. But on the other hand, juxtapose that with Ivanka Trump’s lifestyle brand, and they’re almost one in the same. You know there’s ways to celebrate Memorial Day, and as the name implies – “memorial”. As in remembrance. As in remembering those who served, your loved ones, or both. You know the way to *NOT* celebrate Memorial Day? With fucking champagne popsicles! Can we throw that Tweet up there?

https://twitter.com/IvankaTrumpHQ/status/868934910161043457

Yeah celebrate Memorial Day by making champagne popsicles. Was Ivanka around during the French Revolution? Let them eat champagne popsicles. And by way who knew that Ivanka Trump had a “lifestyle brand”? Is she following GOOP’s example?

Ivanka Trump yields great power within her father’s White House, but her official corporate account on Twitter is a reminder the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

First Daughter and White House surrogate Ivanka Trump raised eyebrows on Memorial Day with a tweet from her lifestyle branding account that many likened to the famously tone-deaf defense of French Aristocracy when Maria Antoinette remarked, “let them eat cake.”
http://www.rawstory.com/2017/05/ivanka-trump-company-raked-over-coals-for-suggesting-champagne-popsicles-to-commemorate-memorial-day/

So you might be asking yourself – “Is there a Trump product in all of this?”. Why yes, good sir / madam! There is!

https://twitter.com/bjimd/status/869189647091609600

How good does champagne from hell freeze? What’s the appropriate temperature? Absolute zero or 3 degrees below absolute zero? By the way, I love this Tweet:

https://twitter.com/ImperialTalker/status/869183797849464834

We may have to do a deep dive into Ivanka Trump HQ at some point – there’s a ton of shit out there about celebrity lifestyle brands. And in case you’re wondering whether or not she couldn’t be any more insensitive – well this week begins June Pride Month, and we here support our LGBT brothers and sisters. Well, Ivanka on the other hand….

https://twitter.com/IvankaTrump/status/870450297927290882

Ever trying to shake the “complicit” label, first daughter, Ivanka Trump, took to Twitter Thursday evening to issue a pair of tweets to express her support for LGBTQ rights.

The tweets coincided with the start of Gay Pride month in the United States.

Ever trying to shake the “complicit” label, first daughter, Ivanka Trump, took to Twitter Thursday evening to issue a pair of tweets to express her support for LGBTQ rights.

The tweets coincided with the start of Gay Pride month in the United States.

Despite his support for marriage equality, LGBTQ Americans are generally not counted as members of the Donald Trump coalition. LGBTQ Americans voted overwhelmingly against him in the 2016 general election.

On Twitter, the younger Trump was raked over the coals by those who took exception to her sweet words. The general theme was that the actions of the administration spoke louder.

Who’s The Snowflake?
[br]
[br]

It’s now time for another round of *cue reverb* WHO’S THE SNOWFLAKE? Because no one loves to whine more than the white male conservative social justice warrior. And they have become the very thing they accuse others of. So we’ve launched a new game here at the Top 10 Conservative Idiots.

Behind door number 1 is the Alamo Drafthouse. Which we love here. But it’s not them we’re concerned about. So you know about their women’s only screening of the new epic superhero movie Wonder Woman right? Well, the chain issued what may be the best apology ever about it:

"We at the Alamo Drafthouse would like to officially apologize for our role in the end of mankind as we knew it, and the ascendant Gynocracy that followed. We didn’t know our women-only screening of Wonder Woman would result in the overthrow of all world governments and the total subjugation of men, but in hindsight we probably should have seen it coming.

“Why can’t women have one night to enjoy a character that’s meant so much to them over the years?” asked the Shadowy Figure. The woman came into our offices in a cloak as black as the grave, followed by three wild-looking dogs. Her voice had no age, or every age, it was hard to tell. Sometimes it sounded like more than one woman was talking. The Shadowy Figure made good points about Representation Mattering and Safe Spaces as she idly flicked raw flesh to her dogs. Around her swirled plumes of sickly sweet incense from a source unknown, but this is Austin, so we figured she was just keeping it weird. How naive we were.
https://medium.com/BethyBSQU/alamo-drafthouse-apologizes-for-starting-manpocalypse-with-women-only-screening-ccf6f4090a14

But then even the mayor of Austin got in on the shenanigans coming from the white male social justice warrior snowflakes, which will now be known by their abbreviation – WMSJWSFs.

"I hope every man will boycott Austin and do what he can to diminish Austin and to cause damage to the city's image. The theater that pandered to the sexism typical of women will, I hope, regret it's decision. The notion of a woman hero is a fine example of women's eagerness to accept the appearance of achievement without actual achievement. Women learn from an early age to value make-up, that it's OK to pretend that you are greater than you actually are. Women pretend they do not know that only men serve in combat because they are content to have an easier ride. Women gladly accept gold medals at the Olympics for coming in 10th and competing only against the second class of athletes. Name something invented by a woman! Achievements by the second rate gender pale in comparison to virtually everything great in human history was accomplished by men, not women. If Austin does not host a men only counter event, I will never visit Austin and will welcome it's deterioration. And I will not forget that Austin is best known for Charles Whitman. Does Austin stand for gender equality or for kissing up to women? Don't bother to respond. I already know the answer. I do not hate women. I hate their rampant hypocrisy and the hypocrisy of the 'women's movement.' Women do not want gender equality; they want more for women. Don't bother to respond because I am sure your cowardice will generate nothing worth reading.

So the question on the table is…

Why it’s none other than WMSJWSFs! Who are quite possibly the biggest crybabies on the planet! And they accuse us of being whiny snowflakes who need safe spaces. No one needs safe spaces more than the WMSJWSFs. So with that in mind we go to our next subject for “Who’s The Snowflake?”. Why it’s Sean Hannity, who has been busy comparing liberals to fascists and waging war on Media Matters. But who else is Hannity mad at? Why it’s the Onion!

Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday expressed outrage over an article published in The Onion.

In a message on Twitter, Hannity asked “what is wrong with the left that they think these sorts of things are funny?” The message was linked to a satirical article about his former boss titled “Hundreds Of Miniature Sean Hannitys Burst From Roger Ailes’ Corpse.”

Ailes, the former chief of Fox News, died May 18.

But Hannity’s foes were quick to point out that he uses the word “snowflake” to mock political opponents who he views as oversensitive. He also frequently labels liberals as “crybabies.”
https://www.rawstory.com/2017/06/snowflake-sean-hannity-stung-by-parody-article-and-the-internet-cant-stop-laughing/

&t=10s

So we ask you again… WHO’S THE SNOWFLAKE???? Why it’s none other than Sean Hannity himself! And man he is not letting this shit go! Talk about a guy who can dish it out but can’t take it! Can we throw that tweet up there?

https://twitter.com/seanhannity/status/870342307031265280

Yeah we need more of the crying baby sound effect! It’s called a “joke”, Hannity! I mean do you even know what a joke is? I’m guessing most likely not. So let’s throw up the article in question that has Hannity’s boxers in a wad:

PALM BEACH, FL—Clawing over each other and gasping for air as they emerged, hundreds of miniature Sean Hannitys reportedly burst from Roger Ailes’ corpse Thursday shortly after the former Fox News CEO’s death. “At first, one little hand broke through his skin, and then dozens and dozens of Sean Hannitys just erupted out of Roger’s chest cavity,” said one witness, adding that the cacophony caused by the two-inch-tall, mucus-covered Hannitys screeching right-wing talking points drowned out every other sound in the room. “They were suddenly everywhere, shrieking about the war on Christmas, paid protesters, and coddled, crybaby liberals on college campuses. One of the nasty little things even scampered up the wall and started gnawing on the doorframe. And, my Lord, they just smelled so foul.” At press time, the miniature Sean Hannitys were ravenously devouring Ailes’ corpse.
http://www.theonion.com/article/hundreds-miniature-sean-hannitys-burst-roger-ailes-56052

That is a pretty disturbing image. But behind Door #3 in this installment of “Who’s The Snowflake” is “Coach” Dave Daubenmire – who’s not a coach but for some reason people listen to what he has to say, and he says some really extremist shit. Like this in the wake of Greg Gianforte (R-WWE) body slamming his way to the vote.

Religious Right activist “Coach” Dave Daubenmire declared on his “Pass The Salt Live” webcast this morning that America needs “a more violent Christianity.” He cited President Trump and Greg Gianforte as examples of violent men who are properly “walking in authority.”

“The only thing that is going to save Western civilization is a more aggressive, a more violent Christianity,” he said.

Playing a clip of Trump shoving aside the prime minister of Montenegro at a recent NATO summit so that he could stand in front of the group of assembled leaders, Daubenmire heaped praise on Trump for showing that “he is large and in charge.”

“Look at him,” Daubenmire screamed gleefully while watching the clip. “They’re all little puppies, ain’t nobody barking at him … He’s walking in authority. He walked to the front and center and they all know it, too, man. He just spanked them all.”
http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/dave-daubenmire-america-needs-a-more-violent-christianity/

So… Dave Daubenmire seems to be channeling his inner Homer Simpson. Who’s the Snowflake in this case? Why it’s conservative white male Christians! If you feel the need to be violent to exert your dominance, well, good luck with that because exerting your dominance like that fucking asshole in Portland will land you a one-way ticket to Supermax, which means you lose your right to vote republican, which means we win. And one more bonus round for this week’s edition of “Who’s The Snowflake”, I give you our favorite fire and brimstone nut job, Joshua Feurerstein!

Evangelist Joshua Feuerstein, a former pastor who has over two million followers on Facebook, has called on Christians to boycott fast food giant McDonald's over its new rainbow colored gay pride french fry boxes. He also slammed Macy's support for gay pride month.

"DISGUSTING! McDonald's released their RAINBOW FRIES today in honor of GAY PRIDE!" Feuerstein wrote in a Facebook message on Friday, sharing a photo of the new french fry boxes in question.

"I'm tired of corporations trying to influence our families like this. SHARE THIS and let people know to STOP EATING at McDonalds! Plus, their food is crap. Really," he added.

According to Fox News, the gay pride boxes will be available at three McDonald's restaurants in Washington, D.C., between June 9 and 11. The McDonald's Family Restaurants of Greater Washington, D.C., is a sponsor of the Capital Pride Alliance.

Cathy Martin, co-chair of the McDonald's PRIDE Network and vice president/general manager of McDonald's Baltimore Washington Region, said in a pess release that the fry boxes "are a fun way to show our support of the LGBTQ community using one of McDonald's most iconic and recognizable items; however, these fry boxes are 'small potatoes' in the grand scheme of our commitment to this community.

&t=10s

Although giving Joshua the benefit of the doubt here, his comment is...

So who’s the snowflake in that case? Why it’s Joshua Feuerstein! Or maybe Fuhrerstein, am I right? NEIN!!! And that answers the question of… *cue reverb* WHO’S THE SNOWFLAKE????

World Tour Destination #1: France
[br]
[br]

Part of our mission statement here at the Top 10 Conservative Idiots is to show you that conservative idiocy isn’t just a problem with America. No, it’s a global problem that is stemming far and wide, and it’s not just America where conservative idiots ruin everything they touch. It’s a global problem, and it’s not going away any time soon. So how this World Tour is going to work is that we’re going to show you that if you’re thinking of jumping ship because Donald J. Trump is our president and that he’s emboldened the racists, you should know what you’re getting into should you decide to relocate. So with that in mind, we’re going to take you to the first destination of our World Tour 2017, which happens to be France, which has been in the news quite heavily because of their recent election, in case you haven’t noticed. Here is the tour schedule:

France

France. It’s a country that shares a border with several countries in Europe. And that includes Monaco, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany. When you think of France you immediately think of what? The Eiffel Tower. Or maybe you’re a foodie and food is the first thing that comes to mind because France is the country that gave us the crepe and the croissant. But France is home to world class education, the world famous Louvre art museum, the underwater train to London, the Arc De Triumph, I could go on and on. But you know what else France is the home of? It’s the home of white nationalism, and a lot of it!

White nationalism lost in France yesterday, and it lost big.

Marine Le Pen, the far-right presidential candidate, won only 34 percent of votes in her two-way race against Emmanuel Macron, who will soon be France’s president. Roger Cohen calls Macron’s victory “an important demonstration that reason and coherence still matter in politics.” Nate Silver notes that Macron outperformed the pre-election polls by more than either Brexit or Donald Trump did.

Yet Macron’s victory is also a depressing reminder of the state of conservative politics in the United States. In France, the center-right and center-left united to oppose Le Pen’s extremism. (Le Pen went so far as to lie about the Holocaust during her campaign, Julia Ioffe reminds us.)

The United States also had an extremist presidential candidate — one who mocked the disabled, retweeted neo-Nazis, called Mexicans rapists, promised to ban Muslims from the country and bragged about molesting women. He won the presidency, thanks to overwhelming support from the Republican party.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/08/opinion/marine-le-pen-and-white-nationalism-get-thumped.html

Now what you might not know about the French elections is that the US alt right did their best (or worst depending on which way you look at it) to help sway the election:

The far-right in France has been working hard to swing the election toward its candidate, Marine Le Pen, after her opponent independent-centrist Emmanuel Macron's campaign emails were hacked. The white nationalist, alt-right in the United States got into the act, too.

To learn more, we've reached out to Ben Nimmo. He is with the Atlantic Council's digital forensic research lab. He's been studying the far-right's work against Macron and others. He joins us from the United Kingdom via Skype. Thanks so much for joining us.

BEN NIMMO: Thank you.

GARCIA-NAVARRO: So, first of all, do we know who is behind the hack?

NIMMO: No, we don't. There's been a lot of Twitter traffic suggesting that it was a Russian group variously known as APT 28 or Fancy Bear or Cozy Bear. But I haven't seen rock-hard evidence that would say this was definitely a Russian operation.
http://wlrn.org/post/us-alt-right-takes-role-french-election

And would you be surprised that one of the Americans who tried to meddle in the French election is none other than professional tool and discount Jack Nicholoson in The Shining impersonator, Jack Posobiec? You can’t handle the truth!

Jack Posobiec is the bureau chief and sole employee of the Washington, D.C., office of the Rebel, a Canadian media outlet that specializes in far-right video commentary. Last weekend, I met him at a Peet’s Coffee a few blocks from the White House. He told me, “As a journalist, I use all the tools at my disposal”—mostly YouTube, Periscope, and Twitter—“to seek the truth and disseminate the truth. That’s the purpose of journalism, right? At the same time, I also do what I call 4-D journalism, meaning that I’m willing to break the fourth wall. I’m willing to walk into an anti-Trump march and start chanting anti-Clinton stuff—to make something happen, and then cover what happens. So, activism tactics mixed with traditional journalism tactics.”

When he was a student at Temple University, he said, he double-majored in political science and broadcast journalism. He joined the Navy, and was stationed in Asia for five years; when he returned to the United States, he worked as a Trump campaign volunteer before joining the Rebel. “Last week, I called my mom and went, ‘Hey, Ma, look who’s actually using his college degree!’ ” Now, in the final hours of the French Presidential contest between Emmanuel Macron, a centrist who supports the European Union, and Marine Le Pen, a far-right, anti-immigrant nationalist, Posobiec’s “4-D journalism” might have a serious impact.
http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/the-far-right-american-nationalist-who-tweeted-macronleaks

Yeah boooooooooooooooo!!!! You can’t do a fourth wall break inside a fourth wall break! The only guy who can do that is Deadpool! That’s what, 16 walls?

But just because Emmanuel Macron won and we stopped a Trump / Putin puppet from gaining power doesn’t mean that France is quite out of the woods yet. Oh no good sir / madam. So let’s ask a real political science professor – what does this mean for France in the long run?

The Gateway: A lot people might not know how French elections work, could you explain it?

Laurie Adkin: In the first round, there are many presidential candidates and people could vote for any of them. The two candidates with the highest percentage of the vote go into the second round of voting. Typically it’s a left-right kind of alternative. This election was a new phenomenon in France because you had a centrist-independent candidate and a far-right one. There was a strong abstentionist movement because people were very unhappy with the choice they had of either Macron or Le Pen. For others on the left, it was very clear that one had to vote for the lesser of two evils.

So why is it significant that Macron won?

It’s a relief for people all around the world, and particularly those in Europe who were very worried about the possibility of Marine Le Pen becoming president. Le Pen is the leader of the Front National, a party on the populist far right that has a very strong stance against immigration.

What does Macron’s election mean for the European Union?

Le Pen’s position was to renegotiate France’s membership in the European Union to restore more sovereignty to France, and if no agreement was reached she proposed having a referendum to withdraw France from the European Union. The fact that Macron was elected means there’s no imminent prospect of France withdrawing.
https://thegatewayonline.ca/2017/05/should-the-world-be-relieved-by-the-french-election-results/

Oh and by the way – France, unlike the US, actually did a probe into possible Russian hacking of their election that saw Emmanuel Macron become the new president of France. And guess what? They found nothing!

Macron, who opposed National Front leader Marine Le Pen in the run-off for the office of president, made his opposition to alleged Russian meddling in the election a point of his campaign. While he and his team didn’t directly accuse Russia of being behind the May 5 hack, many media reports of the incident speculated that Moscow may have made a last-ditch attempt to undermine Macron’s position before the poll.

The candidate also barred RT and the Russian news agency Sputnik from his campaign HQ, accusing them of spreading false information about him. His team failed to provide any examples of such misreporting.

Accusing Russia of interfering in election processes has become a recurring theme in the West, after such claims was offered as an explanation for Hillary Clinton’s defeat by Donald Trump in last year’s US presidential election. Some critics of Trump claim that he and the Kremlin conspired to undermine American democracy.

APT28 is the designation for the alleged perpetrator of several hacking attacks, including the one that resulted in a leak of embarrassing Democratic National Convention emails. The group, which was dubbed Fancy Bear by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike for its never-proven connection to the Russian government, was reported as the likely suspect in the Macron campaign hack. Poupard’s interview indicates that this was not the case, however.

The Verdict

France is safe for liberals to both visit and, if you’re thinking of moving here, may be OK for Americans to move to.

Scorecard:

So here's how this is going to work. Each country will be graded in four key areas. The first is tourism. How appealing is this country to visit in the first place? The second is culture. What's the culture like? If you're identifying as American, how friendly are they when it comes to tourists? The third is the political spectrum - what are elections like? What's the overall political climate like? And finally the most important - how appealing are this country's policies toward liberal interests? These grades are calculated and then an overall score is given.

Tourism: A
Culture: B
Political Spectrum: A
Liberal Appeal: B+

Overall: A

Sony Pictures Is Releasing Clean Versions of Its Movies to Ward Off Would-Be Copycats

Sony Pictures launched a feature on Tuesday allowing movie viewers to opt for "clean" versions of their films purchased through iTunes, VUDU, and FandangoNOW. The movie studio's new "Clean Version" Initiative will bring airline or broadcast edits of films like 50 First Dates, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and Easy A to streaming customers, according to a report in Yahoo News.

The new service launched with clean versions of 24 films. In a promotion video, Sony showcased its promise to edit out "adult scenes" and "violence & language" by screening two versions of the same scene from Grown Ups 2: one, the original, features actor Kevin James calling a group of teenagers "douchebags"; the "clean" version shows him deeming them "little punks."

Sony's move comes at a time when major studios continue to battle third-party family-entertainment companies over unauthorized edits of copyrighted works. While copyright law prohibits third parties from selling edited versions of copyrighted Hollywood films, 2005's Family Movie Act, signed by President George W. Bush, allows companies to sell films edited by software that removes nudity, profanity, and graphic violence.

Ensuing lawsuits between Hollywood and third parties have resulted in losses on both sides. In 2005, a federal judge cleared one of these third-party companies, ClearPlay, of charges of trademark and copyright infringement put forth by both the Directors' Guild of America and 13 individual directors including Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese. In 2006, a Colorado judge ruled that a third-party competitor, CleanFlicks, must stop "producing, manufacturing, creating, designing, selling, [and] renting" edited movies; that same year, CleanFlicks went out of business. Meanwhile, Disney, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Fox, and Warner Bros. remain locked in a legal battle with third-party company VidAngel.

I don't have kids, but if I did, I can guarantee that they wouldn't give a shit about seeing Easy A, or Grown Ups 2, or 50 First Dates. I don't care about seeing these movies. There's plenty of family friendly movies out there that are made for kids. That kids would actually, you know, want to see. And Seth Rogen really hates the idea:

Seth Rogen has long enjoyed a fruitful relationship with Sony Pictures. The comedian and the studio have worked together on a number of movies, from the controversial The Interview—which led to the studio getting hacked in 2014—to last year’s surprise blockbuster Sausage Party. But Rogen apparently draws a hard line when it comes to making his hits a little more family-friendly.

Sony announced Tuesday, per Yahoo, that it is starting a “Clean Version” initiative featuring select movies in its catalogue, which will allow viewers to watch movies “free from certain mature content.” Viewers can currently purchase “clean,” edited versions of several of those films on iTunes, VUDU, and FandangoNow. Rogen, however, isn’t fond of the concept in the slightest.

“Holy shit, please don't do this to our movies. Thanks,” he tweeted on Tuesday, quote-tweeting a link to the Yahoo article.

Evangelist Joshua Feuerstein Calls for Boycott of McDonald's Over 'Disgusting' Gay Pride Fries

Betsy DeVos Says "Discrimination on basis of sexual orientation 'unsettled' law"

(CNN)Education Secretary Betsy DeVos indicated discrimination in schools on the basis of sexual orientation is "unsettled" law and a matter for Congress and the courts to address -- not her department.
After declining last month to say how she would handle allegations of private school discrimination under a federally-funded school voucher program, DeVos was pressed Tuesday on the topic by Democrats at a Senate hearing. President Donald Trump's budget proposal sets aside funds to create a school choice program, but provides few details about how it would be run.
The education secretary repeatedly said that any school "receiving federal funding is required to follow federal law," but said federal law is unclear on protections for LGBTQ students.

"On areas where the law is unsettled, this department is not going to be issuing decrees," DeVos said. "That is a matter for Congress and the courts to settle."
Later in the questioning, DeVos said she is broadly opposed to discrimination, but did not specify how she would handle cases brought to her attention.
"Discrimination in any form is wrong. I don't support discrimination in any form," she said.
Whether federal law protects LGBTQ students has become a hot-button issue. The portion of a 1972 education law known as Title IX bans discrimination "on the basis of sex," but interpretations differ. Earlier this year, the Supreme Court declined to hear a case involving a transgender student and Title IX.

So let me get this straight. One minute she says it's perfectly OK for schools to discriminate. The next she says "fuck it, let Congress and the courts decide.". Fail. Worst secretary of education ever.

Alamo Drafthouse Update: Lawsuit Filed

Sigh...

This weekend, the critically acclaimed Wonder Woman movie adaptation is breaking barriers and a few box office records. But some men are alleging that the balls-barred, women-only screenings of the film are breaking the law.

Last week, the Alamo Drafthouse announced women-only Wonder Woman screenings at its original location in Austin, Texas. Their popularity led Alamo to bring similar screenings for women and those who identify as women to other markets, including Brooklyn which sold out three screenings that will benefit Planned Parenthood. The famously lively movie theater chain tweaked whiners who complained on social media that the screenings were discriminatory—and that attracted the attention of Albany Law School professor Stephen Clark.

"There was a vibrant argument happening on Facebook. But when the theater responded to complaints, they were pretty snide about it and willing to mock anyone who had a complaint and that really struck me," he told the Washington Post. And after looking at Austin's city code, he filed a complaint with a city agency.

He alleged that the Drafthouse’s women-only event — as it was described in the theater’s advertising — discriminated against male customers based on their gender. Citing the theater’s promise to staff only women at the events, Clark also alleged that the Drafthouse was illegally engaging in employment discrimination.

“It’s the principle of the thing,” he told The Post. “I’m a gay man, and I’ve studied and taught gay rights for years. Our gay bars have long said that you do not exclude people because they’re gay or straight or transgender — you just can’t do that for any reason.”

“We have to deal with the bachelorette parties that come to the gay bar,” he added. “They’re terribly disruptive, but if you forbid women from coming to a gay bar, you’re starting down a slippery slope. It’s discrimination.”
