Woman Who Gave Bulls Player Finger Once Accused Of Killing Husband By Psychic

Turns out Filomena Tobias, the woman captured in that now-iconic photo flipping off Joakim Noah during last night's Heat-Bulls game, might be the most bizarrely interesting woman in the world. How bizarrely interesting? Well, this is the nut graph from a 2008 New York magazine story about the death of her fourth husband:

The hedge-funder Seth Tobias was found dead in his pool. His hard-partying wife has been accused of his murder by her internet psychic, who also says the hedge-funder was having an affair with a male stripper named Tiger. And it just gets more sordid from there.

Yeah. That kind of crazy.

Filomena discovered her lifeless husband floating face down in the pool of his Jupiter mansion in 2007, and it set off one of the biggest Palm Beach scandals of the decade. A fight for his $300 million estate ensued, with Seth's brothers claiming Filomena had drugged and killed her husband. (She was cleared of any charges.) An internet psychic later claimed Filomena had confessed to him that she lured her hubby into the pool with promises of sex with a male stripper named Tiger (because he had tiger stripes tattooed across his body).

Not Your Average Alien Abduction Sighting:

In the strange realm of alien abductions, usually it’s the aliens snatching the humans. But in South Roanoke, what happened is the other way around.

Some humans abducted the aliens, in broad daylight, on well-traveled Broadway Avenue. The crime occurred April 22 in Robert and Dian Bolling’s front yard, sometime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. And the Bollings want them back.

They’ve combed the neighborhood, stapled wanted posters to telephone poles and taped them to storefront windows. So far, zilch.

The 3-foot-tall bright green molded plastic creatures have been fixtures in the family’s yard for more than a decade, first at their place on Arden Road in Raleigh Court and more recently in South Roanoke, where the Bollings moved with their three sons in 2011.

The couple picked up the aliens for peanuts about a dozen years ago. They can’t recall exactly when, or where or what they paid — $20 each, perhaps. They bought them at an after-Halloween clearance sale.

Completely Insane British Cops Arrest 10 Year Old Playing Hopscotch

Officers reportedly reprimanded Lilly Allen, 10, earlier this week, saying the traditional game’s outline she drew on the pavement was akin to criminal damage.

The schoolgirl was said to have been given the warning by two unnamed officers as she played the centuries-old skipping outside her home in Ramsgate, Kent, the Sun reported.

She was issued the warning after making the outlines in white chalk, which washes away in rain.

Her father, Robert Allen, 51, was left angered by the suggestions and has since lodged a formal complaint to Kent Police over the incident, which occurred on Monday.

Intel Employee Files Criminal Charges Over Kick Me Sign On His Back

RIO RANCHO, NM (KRQE) - A "kick me" sign on the back is one of the oldest pranks in the book.

In high school, it makes for a funny Youtube video. But in the professional world, things are very different as one case at Intel demonstrates.

According to a federal lawsuit filed last week, Intel employee Harvey Palacio was at work when a coworker stuck a "kick me" sign onto his back . Palacio asked another coworker, Randy Lehman if there was something on his back.

In the lawsuit, Palacio claims Lehman kicked him in the butt instead of helping, a total of three times.

Palacio says he went to a third coworker Chris Zeltinger to see if he'd remove the sign. Zeltinger kicked him two separate times.

Instead Of Heading To Hospital Immediately, Mom Looks Up Info On Gun Shot Wounds On WebMD

HOUSTON – A mother could face charges after she allegedly turned to WebMD.com, instead of seeking professional medical attention, when her 14-year-old son was shot by a friend playing with a gun, Santa Fe police said.

The shooting happened at 6:27 p.m. Tuesday inside the family’s home located in the 10400 block of 27th Street, police said. Investigators said the incident was captured on the home’s in-house surveillance video system.

The video shows Pete Jesse Rodriguez, 24, who is also a resident of the home, pointed a pistol directly at the teen, police said. Rodriguez is accused of tracking the teen’s movement with the pistol and eventually pulling the trigger. The victim was shot once in the upper left thigh with a high-caliber bullet, police said.

83 Year Old Nun Convicted Of Nuclear Plant Break In

An elderly Catholic nun and two peace activists have been convicted for damage they caused while breaking into a US nuclear defence site.

Sister Megan Rice, 83, Michael Walli, 64, and Greg Boertje-Obed, 56, admitted cutting fences and entering the Y-12 site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, which processes and stores uranium.

The incident last July prompted security changes.

Sister Megan said she only regretted having waited 70 years to take action.

A jury deliberated for two and a half hours before reaching its verdict. The three face up to 20 years in prison after their conviction for sabotaging the plant, which was first constructed during the Manhattan Project that developed the first nuclear bomb.

The three, who belong to the group Transform Now Plowshares, were also found guilty of causing more than $1,000 (£643) of damage to government property, for which they could face up to 10 years in prison.

Things You Might Find In A Typical 18 Year Old Male's Room - Porn, Weed, Computer, TV, IED...

(Newser) – Think of all the things you imagine a cleaning woman might find in an 18-year-old male's room. An IED probably wasn't on your list. But that's exactly what police say an Arizona housecleaner discovered yesterday afternoon in a Tempe home. After spotting a suspicious-looking device with wires coming out of it, the apparently very brave woman took it to the fire station, where it was X-rayed and determined to be an improvised explosive device that was ready to be detonated, authorities say. "It was something that wasn't big, but could cause serious injuries and the death of someone," says a Tempe police sergeant.

Angry Polish Guy Doesn't Get Invited On Family Picnic, So He Blows Up House

A Polish man blew up his own house when he realised his wife and children had gone on a picnic without him.

Czeslaw Kaminski, 69, was so incensed when he woke to find a note from his wife to say that she had gone away for the day with the children that he decided to destroy the family home.

But after lighting a fire in the basement and throwing two gas cylinders on top of the property in the village of Chechlo Drugie, near Lodz, he failed to leave in time and was caught in the blast when the house was blown to smithereens.

He was taken to hospital by an air ambulance where his condition was described as critical.

Hospital spokesman Bozena Kozanecka said he was in a coma in intensive care.

Oasis Lead Singer Liam Gallagher Admits A Blue M&M Nearly Killed Him

LIAM GALLAGHER has put his constitution to the test with a rock ’n’ roll lifestyle stretching back to his teenage years.

But the BEADY EYE star has received his first serious glimpse of the Pearly Gates after a blue M&M sent him crashing into anaphylactic shock last month.

Liam has been diagnosed with the life-threatening nut allergy after suffering a reaction to his favourite sweets while staying in a hotel on tour.

And now the former OASIS man has to carry a special injection with him everywhere he goes in case a rogue nut creeps into his system.

Speaking at the launch of The Red House restaurant in south-west London, he said: “I’ve done some stuff over the years but never, never did I think a f****** blue M&M would be the thing that could have killed me. I was in a hotel on holiday and got in about the mini bar.

“I was bored and hungry, so it’s what you do, man. I’ve always liked M&Ms so I got into them. I had a blue one.

“My mouth started to swell up and I could feel it tightening my throat, man. I had to go to the docs and get it checked out straight away.

Evidence Of Brazil Atlantis Surfaces

RIO DE JANEIRO, May 7 (UPI) -- Experts say they've found evidence of a Brazilian "Atlantis," a continent that disappeared after Africa and South America separated 100 million years ago.

Scientists with the Geology Service of Brazil, working with Japanese researchers, reported the discovery of granite -- a rock that normally forms on dry land -- more than 8,000 feet beneath the sea in a region known as the Rio Grande Elevation, 900 miles off the coast of Brazil.

"It is unusual because it is granite rock," Geology Service Director Roberto Ventura Santos said. "And you don't find granite on the seabed. It is more usual to find it on the mainland."

"This could be Brazil's Atlantis," he said. "We are almost certain but we need to strengthen this hypothesis."
