China Tries To Keep Everyone From Laughing At The Shape Of Its' New Newspaper HQ

The shape of the new headquarters of the People's Daily, the Communist Party's main propaganda machine, has sparked heated discussion online for looking a bit too phallic.

The building is still under construction in Beijing, but at its current stage, documented widely in pictures on social media sites, its shape is certainly suggestive.

Most photos posted on Sina Weibo, the mainland's most popular microblogging site, were removed by censors, and attempts to search for " People's Daily building" in Chinese were met with a message that read: "According to relevant laws, regulations and policies, search results cannot be displayed."

However, photos could still be found on other social media sites.

The 150-metre-tall building, located in the eastern extension of the capital's central business district, was designed by Zhou Qi, a professor of architecture at Southeast University in Jiangsu . It is expected to be finished in May 2014.

Giant Dick Drawn In Newly Paved Parking Lot

Obscene vandalism in concrete behind shop

AN obscene image has been carved into the concrete driveway behind a councillor’s shop.

Simon Thornton, also known as the Godalming Butcher, was not best pleased when he found the 6ft-long piece of vandalism depicting male genitalia.

Cllr Thornton owns the High Street butchers and is on the town and borough council as well as the Godalming Chamber of Commerce committee.

He had just forked out £3,500 to cover the three parking spaces when the incident occurred.

Pittsburgh Archdiocese Angry At College Student's Naked Pope Costume

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Students at Carnegie Mellon say it’s freedom of expression, but the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh calls it inappropriate and disrespectful. At an annual art school parade, a female student dressed up as the pope, and was naked from the waist down while she passed out condoms. Even more, witnesses say the woman had shaved her pubic hair in the shape of a cross.

The Diocese has asked CMU to take action. “I think we all know that when we’re growing up we do stupid things but to cross over the line in this instance shouldn’t happen with anybody,” Bishop David Zubik said. CMU issued a statement, saying “We are continuing our review of the incident. If our community standards or laws were violated, we will take appropriate action.”

Further proof that the Catholic church has no sense of humor.

Oh, and please I really hope "Naked Pope" is playing Bonaroo this year.

Guy Has Surgery To Remove 132 Pound Growth On Male Organ

By PAUL HARASIM
LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL

Wesley Warren Jr., the 48-year-old Las Vegas man whose emotional and physical struggles with a 132-pound scrotum drew international attention, has undergone successful surgery to remove the mass, according to the California surgeon who led the team that performed the nearly 13-hour procedure.

Dr. Joel Gelman, who heads the Center for Reconstructive Urology at the University of California, Irvine, said this week that on April 8 he and three other physicians, including plastic surgeons, donated their expertise and operated on Warren. The mass caused by the condition, known as scrotal lymphedema, had grown to 132 pounds in less than two years.

“There are a lot of shows about makeovers, but this is a real makeover,” Gelman said Thursday of the procedure that saw surgeons cut away simultaneously on the grossly enlarged protective sac of skin and muscles that contained Warren’s testicles and penis. “He’s basically a new man.”

Attempts to reach Warren — released earlier this week from the hospital and recuperating in housing near the medical center — were unsuccessful.

Warren, who also has blood pressure problems and asthma, had long spoken of his fear of dying during an operation. Dr. Mulugeta Kassahun, Warren’s Las Vegas urologist, told him if there was major bleeding, it might be impossible for doctors to save him.

There are no size or location restrictions. Brooke Koropatnick got hers behind the ear.

“I had a paycheck coming in what was a substantial amount of money different, so it was nice,” she told Smith.

Venezuelan Parliament Breaks Out In Fight Over Legislation

CARACAS, Venezuela — Tens of thousands of Venezuelans filled the streets of the capital Wednesday in rival marches by the opposition and the government less than a day after a brawl on the floor of congress injured several opposition lawmakers.

Opposition candidate Henrique Capriles walked in a crowd of supporters through upscale neighborhoods in the east of Caracas during a march to celebrate International Workers’ Day.

He called for an end to a government crackdown on his backers, and reiterated plans to challenge his narrow election loss in both Venezuelan and international courts.

In downtown Caracas, the government held its own march, featuring songs praising President Nicolas Maduro and his mentor, late president Hugo Chavez.

Both sides appeared to be trying to avoid confrontation by choosing separate locations and calling for peaceful demonstrations, although tensions were running high.

Robots Sent Into Mayan Tunnels To Investigate Mysterious Spheres

Hundreds of mysterious spheres lie beneath the Temple of the Feathered Serpent, an ancient six-level step pyramid just 30 miles from Mexico City.

The enigmatic spheres were found during an archaeological dig using a camera-equipped robot at one of the most important buildings in the pre-Hispanic city of Teotihuacan.

"They look like yellow spheres, but we do not know their meaning. It's an unprecedented discovery," said Jorge Zavala, an archaeologist at Mexico's National Anthropology and History Institute.

The Mesoamerican ruins of Teotihuacan, a World Heritage Site, represent one of the largest urban centers of the ancient world. Thought to have been established around 100 B.C., the pyramid-filled city had more than 100,000 inhabitants at its peak, but was abandoned for mysterious reasons around 700 A.D. -- long before the Aztecs arrived in the 1300s.

New Zealand Department Of Internal Affairs Lists Rejected Baby Names

The list of 77 names reveals one child was set to be called "Anal" before the Department of Internal Affairs vetoed the proposal, while another narrowly avoided being dubbed "." or full stop.

Other names on the list included "4Real", "V8", and "Queen Victoria".

In some cases, parents appeared to have lost any inspiration for coming up with a moniker for their offspring, wanting to call the latest addition to the family simply "2nd", "3rd" or "5th".

The department's rules forbid any name that might imply a child holds an official title or rank, so "King", "Duke" and "Princess" were among those that had been turned down most since 2001.

"Justice" was the most popular, having been rejected 62 times, although "Justus" and "Juztice" also failed to gain official approval.

German Model Rides Train In The Buff - And No One Notices

A STUNNING model gives fellow commuters a wake-up call to remember by riding the train completely starkers.

The brunette wore only glasses and shoes for her nude ride to work.

And in place of clothes, she daubed herself with words describing what they might have expected her to have been wearing.

The woman carried out the stunt in Dusseldorf, Germany.

After boarding a train without blushing, the lady ensured she purchased a ticket before taking her seat as normal.

Twins Set World Record - Born 87 Days Apart

As Maria Jones-Elliott hugs her two babies, she hails them as “little miracles”.

For twins Amy and Katie were incredibly born 87 days apart.

Maria went into labour four months early, giving birth to Amy – but Katie did not arrive until three months later.

Their incredible births will now become a Guinness World Record for the “longest interval between the birth of twins”. The previous record is 84 days.

Doctors have told Maria and husband Chris they have achieved the medical equivalent of winning the lottery, with both girls surviving and healthy.

Maria, who has two other children, told how she was torn between joy and worry after Amy’s dangerously early arrival as Katie stayed in her womb, clinging to existence.
