A mother who began sprouting thick facial hair after the birth of her son 28 years ago says she's feeling sexier and more confident than ever before, having finally stopped trying to get rid of her beard.

The German-born woman, identified only as Mariam, appeared on ITV's This Morningto discuss why she stopped tweezing the hair on her face which she had been plucking every day for almost two decades.

Mariam, 49, also explained to Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield that she is happy with the way she looks and would not change her situation, despite being criticised for her behaviour by her own mother.

MOSCOW, April 9 (RIA Novosti) – Angels and demons do really exist, but are often mistaken for "so-called aliens" by those who encounter them, a senior Russian Orthodox Church clergyman said.

“They are real creatures, humans come into contact with them as they sometimes reveal themselves,” Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, who oversees the Church’s public relations, told RIA Novosti in an interview when asked about Christianity’s attitude to ufology.

When speaking about the meteorite that fell on Russian territory in February, Chaplin said that people should always remember that life is fragile, “even without any meteorites.”

FLINT TOWNSHIP, MI – "I want to go to a Bob Seger concert," were the first words out of Evie Branan's mouth after suddenly awakening from a five-year semi coma, falling and hitting her head on the floor.

"Why would I say that?" Branan laughed. "Maybe my last thoughts were Bob Seger before I had my stroke."

A spunky 79-year-old, Branan sat at Willowbrook Manor in Flint Township with short, spiky, white hair. She wore an old Bob Seger t-shirt, green eye shadow and a wrist covered in bracelets.

For the past two years, Branan has been eagerly waiting for that Seger concert after she came out of her semi coma on May 7, 2011.

That time has finally come. She is ready with her concert tickets and an invitation for an after party for Seger's concert at the Palace in Auburn Hills on Thursday, April 11.

Edinburg police continue their search for a man accused of robbing three people early Saturday morning.

Investigators told Action 4 News two men burst into an apartment located on the 1400 block of West Carmen Street around 4:00 Saturday morning and demanded money.

They allegedly tried to steal the three victims wallets.

Police said during the robbery the victims were able to get the gun from the suspects; both fled the scene.

The victims called 911 and turned the gun over to police

The former security guard has vowed to fight the bill of £91,184, which Vodafone have reduced to £29,083, claiming it has ruined his life and driven him to anxiety medication and sleeping tablets.

He continued to call the chat line after an invoice for £19,333.63 came through his letterbox, but realised he had to take action when a second bill for £71,850.67 arrived.

It was recently reported that Joel Osteen, the senior pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, and a televangelist whose ministry reaches millions of viewers, has resigned from Christianity, citing a lack of faith in the validity of the Bible as the word of God.

Images of articles on CNN, Drudge Report and Yahoo News show headlines announcing Osteen’s resignation, but actual links to those articles were unable to be found. Instead, the announcement seemed to originate from a WordPress blog named Joel Osteen Ministries in which the only post is an alleged article from CNN claiming that the megachurch pastor released a statement on his website, Joel Osten Ministries.

Osteen’s “statement” reads in part, “I believe now that the Bible is a fallible, flawed, highly inconsistent history book that has been altered hundreds of times. There is zero evidence the Bible is the holy word of God.” He goes on to say that he has informed his closest colleagues that he is leaving the church, which will continue in a “bare-bones fashion as we liquidate our assets and fulfill various financial obligations.”

A SCARED mum is demanding a new home — claiming her current one is HAUNTED.

Stacey McGill, 29, wants a housing association to move her family after a series of spooky goings-on.

She says a ghost turns lights on and off and leaves a creepy feeling of cobwebs on her skin.

Stacey moved into the terraced house in Loughborough, Leics, with partner Carl, 25, and daughter Chelsey, 18 months, last December.

She said: “I noticed something was there straight away. The microwave started going on and off by itself, and one night we were woken at 3am by the sound of maintenance works. It’s so unnerving.”

At around 10 a.m. on April 2, a man living in the town of Fukuchiyamashi, Kyoto called the police after he discovered that the light of a nearby parking lot had been vandalized with white spray-paint. Upon arriving at the scene, officers also discovered that an expensive, multi-function toilet had been stolen from a park located nearby.



According to the authorities, an entire multi-function toilet, complete with its accompanying hand rails, was stolen from the public restroom. In addition, the special washlet-style toilet seat and lid from another toilet were also missing, with the cost of damages and stolen items coming to some 300,000 yen (US$3,100).

After examining evidence left at the scene, police believe that the criminal used a screwdriver to carefully remove the joints that connected the toilet to its surroundings. Surprisingly, the toilets in the men’s room were left completely intact. Perhaps the thieves banked on the ladies’ toilets being a little more sanitary?
