i do a search for "president" every day and just thought this EO regarding Venezuela held some pretty rich language:

the outlook for the Triangle; opportunity to help
looks better this morning. I'm still afraid of flooding and the huge pine that overlooks my townhome coming down and slicing my house in half, but less so.
I don't remember any of the really bad storms from the past, because I was in CA dealing with the occasional earthquake (now many of my loved ones are surrounded by catastrophic fires and enduring an almost endless drought). I have been really scared these last few days. Even now I suspect that Florence will be the worst storm I have been through in all of my 63 years.

i can't listen to him
or any republican. there's just a visceral reaction that is unbearable. so i have the hearing paused. i want to hear the democrats and the protesters.
i'll be calling my 2 traitorous senators today.
i think kavanaugh if confirmed can spell the end of our democracy, because he will overturn everything progressive from roe v wade to labor laws to social security and so on. Also he is trump's get out of jail free card. if he is confirmed we could have trump in the white house until he dies.
still shocked at the fecklessness of the republicans, their dirty tricks, their breathtaking hypocrisy, their violation of their oath to the constitution. this feels like the final nail in the coffin of democracy to me.

in 2004 I had just started the 1st new job I got after my daughter was killed on 19Jul2001. i started the job on the 15th and when the 19th rolled around I thought I cannot take a day off 4 days into the job. so i showed up and as soon as my new boss asked how i was, I fell apart.
"This is a sad anniversary..."
Now my job has required me to be here and working today. I am sitting at the site crying. She's been dead for 17 years and I can't believe she's even DEAD. But she is, she is, and i have to work. Bekah give me the wherewithal to do what i have to do. Love forever.

I'll be in Raleigh today as a delegate to the State Democratic Convention. First time ever, and my youngest son will be with me, also as a delegate.

Facebook can be a good thing
i'm staying at a Hampton Inn in Phoenix and this morning they had fox on in the lobby. i was going to take advantage of the free breakfast but not with fox on. so i asked them to change it, and the guy told me he wasn't allowed to, that management insisted the tv be on fox.
so i checked in on FB, put the hotel down as my location and posted the whole sordid story. Starting with I will never stay here again (which i had already told the desk clerk). Went down for a smoke about an hour later and what do you know, CNN was on the tv.
i checked in again, took a picture of the pool and tagged the hotel. and the hotel liked that post. so i'm about 99% sure that the first one is why they changed the channel.
another pet peeve about the media
trump tweets some bullshit and they report, "the president believes...."
bullshit. the president said, tweeted, accused, alleged, what-have-you. this assertion that trump believes what he says is dangerously normalizing. he's projecting, lying, just spewing. what he believes is that he's always gotten away with everything all of his pathetic life and he should get away with it now. by any means, but least of these would be the truth, because he knows well that the truth will NOT set him free.
shit he tweets doesn't have to be shit he believes. they must know that by now.
