So... how did YOU become a Rand Paul follower?

I think it's time for some personal stories. Cautionary tales.

In my case, I read the Fourth Amendment to the US Constitution, and am told that I immediately flew into a rage against African-Americans fell in love with Rand Paul.

How about you?

So the White House definitely has a secret kill list

And is likely secretly recording every phone conversation and email we send.

Both are unprecedented in the US.

Anyone else thinking this is a bad combo? Should I just toss back some GABA agonist and chill? Or is there a problem?

So 2016 will be a Clinton vs. a Bush?

Just kill me now.

God, I need a beer. And an opium chaser.

June 21, 2013

But was Michael Hastings on the White House's secret kill list?

I guess we'll never know, because it's a secret kill list.

Sorry, stupid question. Sometimes I forget it's America in 2013.

(Yes, I agree, the Republicans are worse.)

So... how did YOU become a racist?

I think it's time for some personal stories. Cautionary tales.

How about you?

Who says elected Democrats don't care?

They damned well do care, and they're on fire! Absolutely in-your-face on fire!

It's a sight to behold.

Now if they just fought as hard for the 99% as they are fighting for "Spy on Everyone", our country would be in superb shape.

Oh, and I hear that Snowden often drinks more that 3 cups of coffee daily, which further discredits his story.

US intelligence gathering budget $80 billion. Worth it?

Given that the Russians told the US, repeatedly, that Tamerlan Tsarnaev was up to no good and they *still* couldn't keep a handle on him, methinks that the fancy spy stuff is nonsense.

If they can't see the broad side of a barn when told where to look, finding needles in haystacks seems utterly implausable.

That money could feed and shelter many, many victims of the banker wars, instead of being spent on silliness.

Nadler vs. Mueller

Nadler is a smart, decent and reliable Democratic congressman.

Mueller is a Bush appointee.

Hmmm... Which one's claims do I believe... So tough to decide...

June 16, 2013

What a week.

Operation "Spy on Everyone" seems to have been confirmed thanks to Jerry Nadler, and another war has been declared for fully-fake reasons, just to distract folks (as far as I can tell) from the astonishing news that we're all being spied on 24/7.

This sucks.

Unfortunately, I think the average American won't give a crap until some religious nut at the NSA starts blocking their Internet porn, or until their children get put in jail, without the right of habeas corpus, for checking out a site that tells 'em how to make bombs. (Curiosity won't kill the cat, but it can now get the cat a life sentence.)

This sucks.

I guess all that we can do is somehow position ourselves so when the bottom does drop out, we can help pick up the pieces. No, I don't know what that means. But something ought to be done.

Obama *himself* said he welcomes a public debate on "Spy on Everyone"

And while he surely doesn't read DU, I recommend we email our thoughts to friends and family to ensure that Obama does get a chance to read them.
