femmocrat's JournalSenate approves Bruce Beemer as new Atty General:
http://www.philly.com/philly/news/politics/20160831_Senate_approves_Beemer_as_Pa__attorney_general.htmlThe swiftness with which Beemer was confirmed was rare in the Capitol, where confirmations often become long and arduous.
Senators on the Judiciary Committee did not ask a single question during his confirmation hearing.

PA Cyber Charter School CEO is going to jail (finally):
PITTSBURGH -- Nick Trombetta, Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School founder and former chief executive officer, pleaded guilty Wednesday to tax conspiracy, one of the 11 federal charges leveled against him.
>snip<
Trombetta faces up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both, and will be sentenced Dec. 20 by U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti, according to a press release from United States Attorney David J. Hicktons office.
Trombettas case has been ongoing for the last three years. Although he was initially indicted in 2013, two key rulings, based on hearings conducted in 2014, were made in 2015. Trombetta tried to have evidence dismissed in 2014, when he claimed that FBI recordings violated his attorney-client privilege.

Trump's accusation of voter fraud in Pa. is offensive:
http://www.philly.com/philly/opinion/20160819_Inquirer_editorial__Trump_s_accusation_of_voter_fraud_in_PA_is_offensive.html"We're going to watch Pennsylvania. Go down to certain areas and watch and study and make sure other people don't come in and vote five times," he said at an Aug. 12 rally in Altoona. "If you do that, we're not going to lose. The only way we can lose, in my opinion - I really mean this, Pennsylvania - is if cheating goes on."
The allegation is not only unfounded; it's dangerous. Imagine the chaos and disenfranchisement if Trump's volunteers show up in certain areas of the state to make sure voters feel so intimidated that some may turn around and go home instead of exercising their voting rights.
The law allows parties to have trained observers at polling places, but Trump's motives appear nefarious. A trail of Trump's previous insults and insensitive remarks suggest the certain places he wants watched are in black and Latino neighborhoods where polls show he is losing.
