madamesilverspurs's JournalGOP juggling act
Mitt Romney boasts, and rightly so, about the Republican women who are governors and members of congress and one former Secretary of State. Ironically, his boast is simultaneous to his party's platform which has enshrined the notion that those same women are just too damned dumb to make their own health care decisions.

Cyberlaryngitis?
My life is graced by a delicious variety of people. Some of them happen to be (gasp!) Republicans. Last week they were all over facebook in eager anticipation of the RNC, posting snippets about the totally wonderful awesomeness of Ryan and Romney. The last couple of days they have been utterly silent and almost invisible (I had to say 'almost' because one of them did post a new salad recipe).
Gee, I hope they're okay! Really, I do.

The big 'gag moment' in Romney's speech
He said that everywhere he goes in America he sees monuments to those who fought and died for this country. He didn't mention that there are no Romneys on those monuments. The men in his family haven't served, although he did, at one point, equate his sons' work on his campaign to military service.
No, when he rattles his saber at Iran and Syria, it's everyone else's kids he's going to send into harm's way.
Whataguy.

Mitt Romney did manage to prove one thing --
-- that it's entirely possible to have a close race --
between extreme arrogance and stunning historical ignorance,
both in the same person.

I missed the Eastwood moment,
was working at a phone bank.
Judging by some remarks I've seen and heard, it didn't go well?
