madamesilverspurs's JournalDr. Chaps Attacks Reporters, Praises Todd Akin in Sort-Of Apology
Republican Rep. Gordon Dr. Chaps Klingenschmitt has been getting hammered over the last several days because of comments he made in the aftermath of the Michelle Wilkins attack in Longmont. Now, hes speaking out about speaking out, and its not going well.
Today, Dr. Chaps posted a special edition of his PIJN News that offered a sort-of apology for his statements last week about the shocking attack of a pregnant woman in Longmont. In a video lasting nearly 29 minutes, Dr Chaps goes Full Klingenschmitt on a variety of subjects including his clarification of what the word this really means before saying that he was wrong about everything he did (but not really) and apologizing to anyone who was offended.

Forget Elizabeth Warren. Another Female Senator Has a Shot to Fill the Senate's New Power Vacuum
...Reid's likely replacement is New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, who already has endorsements from Reid and Dick Durbin, the outgoing minority leader's No. 2. But lefties have long been wary of Schumer, who, thanks to his home base in New York City, is far more sympathetic to Wall Street than the rest of his caucus. Victim's family refuses Klingenschmitt's money
DENVER - The family of the pregnant Longmont woman who was brutally attacked is rejecting a donation from Colorado state Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt (R-Colorado Springs,) who said the incident amounted to punishment from God for laws allowing abortion.
When confronted about his controversial remarks, Klingenschmitt pointed out Thursday that his charity made a $1,000 donation to the family of Michelle Wilkins.
A Wilkins family member contacted 9Wants to Know on Friday to tell us that they had refunded the donation.

To C-span or not to C-span?
Its tempting to quit watching. Much as I prefer to stay informed without any media filter, my peace of mind takes a hit way too often. As a senior citizen and member of the disabled community, the unrelenting GOP threats to Medicare and Social Security are just damned painful.
But Ill probably keep watching, because on some level its preferable to know where the attacks are coming from rather than waiting to get mugged in the dark. That said, it would be nice if just once Republicans said something other than fuck you to senior citizens.
And the rest of America goes...
What makes them tick? (Poll)
What governs the Republicans views (on the economy, veterans benefits, Social Security, food stamps, health care, voting rights, education, labor, justice, etc.)?
