Google search data paints grim picture of Brits' lack of understanding about the EU and Brexit
Search data released by Google following the UK's shock decision to leave the EU reveals an astonishing lack of political awareness among the British population.
According to Google, the second most popular EU-related question in the UK since the referendum result was announced in the early hours of this morning is "What is the EU?"
Other popular search terms include "What does it mean to leave the EU?", "Which countries are in the EU"?, "What will happen now we've left the EU?" and "How many countries are in the EU?".

Wall St. plunges at the open after shock Brexit vote
Source: Reuters
U.S. stocks plunged at the open on Friday, with the Dow Jones average falling more than 500 points, after Britain's vote to quit the European Union delivered the biggest blow to the global financial system since the 2008 financial crisis.
Investors worried about the outlook for the world economy sought refuge in the dollar and other safe-harbor assets such as gold and U.S. Treasury bonds, while dumping riskier shares. The yield on the U.S. 10-year bond hit its lowest since 2012.

Gov. Martin OMalley
Former Governor of Maryland and Mayor of Baltimore
The U.S. Military Academys director of terrorism studies notes that U.S. terrorists have turned to guns, because explosives and explosive materials are monitored more attentively by the government than gun sales.
American al-Qaeda operative Adam Gadahn emphasized this troubling reality in a video to American jihadists, telling them a fully automatic assault weapon could be purchased at a gun show without a background check or ID card.
His chilling question to them: What are you waiting for?

Vermont's lone congressman and the state's two senators have joined Democrats in a sit-in Wednesday on the floor of the U.S. House to demand a vote on gun legislation.
Rep. Peter Welch and Sen. Patrick Leahy both tweeted in the early afternoon that they had joined the protest, which began at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and continued into the night.
Sanders, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats and campaigned for the party's nomination for president, arrived in the House chamber at about 4:30 p.m. to much attention.
"Change only happens when people come together to say the status quo is unacceptable. We stand with you @HouseDemocrats. #NoBillNoBreak," Sanders tweeted. "Proud to stand with my colleagues to demand action."
