Krugman: The Truth About Jobs.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/08/opinion/krugman-truth-about-jobs.html?hp

October 7..

If anyone had doubts about the madness that has spread through a large part of the American political spectrum, the reaction to Friday’s better-than expected report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics should have settled the issue. For the immediate response of many on the right — and we’re not just talking fringe figures — was to cry conspiracy.

Leading the charge of what were quickly dubbed the “B.L.S. truthers” was none other than Jack Welch, the former chairman of General Electric, who posted an assertion on Twitter that the books had been cooked to help President Obama’s re-election campaign. His claim was quickly picked up by right-wing pundits and media personalities.

It was nonsense, of course. Job numbers are prepared by professional civil servants, at an agency that currently has no political appointees. But then maybe Mr. Welch — under whose leadership G.E. reported remarkably smooth earnings growth, with none of the short-term fluctuations you might have expected (fluctuations that reappeared under his successor) — doesn’t know how hard it would be to cook the jobs data.

Furthermore, the methods the bureau uses are public — and anyone familiar with the data understands that they are “noisy,” that especially good (or bad) months will be reported now and then as a simple consequence of statistical randomness. And that in turn means that you shouldn’t put much weight on any one month’s report.

Huffington Post..sucks..big time..

For three days it has had an ugly picture of Elizabeth Warren on its front page..

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/

For two days, it has one of the ugliest pictures I have ever seen of New Jersey governor Christie..
in exactly the same pose as Warren..You have to scroll down some, but both pictures are on the same page, one is ugliar than the other.
It is this subtle and not so subtle kind of shit at the Huffington Post that proves to me they really are against Warren..the story about Warren from the link, has nothing to do with the picture...

It is no mistake that those pictures have been up there for so long...none, because some pictures get taken off within a few hours..they edit that thing several times a day...

I go there to see what the main stream media is" doing"..But I got to hold back the vomit when I look at the pictures...
some of the stories and writers are ok..but they are a rag..tool of the AOL.

Which is Worse...Huff Post or NBC .com?

These are both awful. Both slanted against us, although they make appearances to be unbiased.

This headline was repeated 3 times at NBC.com today..(Sunday)

Romney gets personal at Florida Rally..

Huffunton Post mentioned Romeny 7 or 8 times on its front page, Obama once..I am assuming that Sunday is their most viewed day..
I have noticed this a lot on Sunday..number of mentions and pic of Romney outnumber Obama..

Mark Hammil says Romney is a Snake Oil Salesman Who Must be Defeated

Huffington Post:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/06/mark-hamill-mitt-romney-i_n_1944982.html?utm_hp_ref=entertainment

"Star Wars" legend Mark Hamill is doubling down on his criticism of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

The actor who played Luke Skywalker tweeted Thursday that after watching the first presidential debate, he believes Romney hails from the dark side.

Hamill first began publicly commenting on the election in mid-July, when he joked at Comic-Con that "Mitt Romney is not actually human." Hamill told On the Red Carpet that, "If you don't vote for Barack Obama, you're insane. 'Cause without him, I think the middle class will completely disappear. And you look at Romney and I'm sure he's a nice guy, but I think he's like The Thing -- he only imitates human behavior. He's not actually human himself ... So God bless him, I'm enjoying him running for office but -- I just came out as a lifelong Democrat."

The over all trend is a wider lead.

Gradually, little by little larger lead.. That will not stop it will get even larger as time goes on. Why? Last time I checked, Romney is basically a liar. Self centered rich bully. Nothing will change that......and in the end, if there is a vote, reasonably honest, and it wil be, he will lose. We had one of those from 2001 to late 2008..one of them is enuough. We got a much better person in there, and most people will see it.
Sure, he has mixed heritage..but that is a good thing..
....a leader of that country that supposed to stand for diversity in the world... and care about the world...from a poor background...is up against a spoiled , rich, liar, bully..

Most of us know who is better..sad that it is only most of us...........the rest of the world already knows...

Science Daily: Caffeinated Coffee Linked to Vision Loss

Caffeinated Coffee Linked to Vision Loss

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/10/121003132012.htm

http://www.iovs.org/content/49/5/1924.long

The second link above is the actual study...(maybe someone here understands it)

ScienceDaily (Oct. 3, 2012) — A new study suggests caffeinated coffee drinkers should limit their intake to reduce their chances of developing vision loss or blindness. According to a scientific paper in Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science, heavy caffeinated coffee consumption is associated with an increased risk of developing exfoliation glaucoma, the leading cause of secondary glaucoma worldwide.

The study, The Relation between Caffeine and Coffee Consumption and Exfoliation Glaucoma or Glaucoma Suspect: A Prospective Study in Two Cohorts, is the first to examine the link between caffeinated coffee and exfoliation glaucoma in a U.S. -based population.

"Scandinavian populations have the highest frequencies of exfoliation syndrome and glaucoma," said author, Jae Hee Kang, ScD, of Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Mass. "Because Scandinavian populations also have the highest consumption of caffeinated coffee in the world, and our research group has previously found that greater caffeinated coffee intake was associated with increased risk of primary open-angle glaucoma, we conducted this study to evaluate whether the risk of exfoliation glaucoma or glaucoma suspect may be different by coffee consumption."

The study was composed of two cohorts: 78,977 women from the Nurses' Health Study (NHS) and 41,202 men from the Health Professionals Follow-up Study (HPFS) who were at least 40 years of age, did not have glaucoma and reported undergoing eye examinations from 1980 (for NHS participants) and 1986 (for HPFS participants) to 2008. The research team used questionnaires to obtain and validate the consumption of beverages containing cafeine and reviewed medical records to determine incident cases of exfoliation glaucoma, which contributes to elevated pressure sufficient enough to damage the optic nerve, or exfoliation glaucoma suspect that have milder or only suspect optic nerve damage.

While I do not know much about coffee, I have read about the "Nurses Health Study" If the research tecniques of this study are correct, (no, I do not know about these researchers either) then this a very important study..Why? ..this is not a few hundred patients at some obsucure hospital. The Nurses Health Study is one of the most complete, if not the most inclusive study over time ever done.

That is where we have found out that 30 minutes a day of moderate exercize, can be almost as healthy as an hour of very strenuous exercize, (for the heart) and that can even be cut into 2 parts, 15 minutes each.. They found that people who did this moderate exercize, lived just about as long as those that did vigorous..if it was 5 days a week over many years.....We are talking about tens of thousands in the study..

Therefore, if there is proof that 3 cups of caffeinated coffee (about 450 mg of caffeine) increases the risk of a kind of glaucoma among a reasonably large percent of people, then there is proof.
