Sony
Sony has a studio production arm which has nothing to do with its core businesses of consumer electronics and gaming. Sony bought what was Columbia Tri-Star Picture in 1989 for $3.4 billion. This entertainment operation has done poorly recently. Sonys fiscal year ends in March, and for the period revenue for the group dropped 15% to $7.2
A & W
A&W AllAmerican Food Restaurants. A&W Restaurants is owned by fast food holding company giant Yum! Brands (NYSE: YUM) which has had the firm for sale since January. There have been no buyers. The chain was founded in 1919. The size of company grew rapidly, and immediately after WWII 450 franchises were opened. The firm pioneered the drive in fast food format. A&W began to sell canned versions of its sodas in 1971 the part of the business that will survive as a container beverage business which is now owned by Dr. Pepper/Snapple. The A&W Restaurant business is too small to be viable now. It had 322 outlets in the U.S and 317 outside the U.S at the end of last year.

It is all about fear. Fear, fear and more fear
This is a major story around the country..(at least at MSNBC)
Missing Indiana girl found dead, babysitter held
It is a local story, but the fear media makes it national.
I recall in "1984" George Orwells classic, he describes the media's role.. To frighten the population and keep them frightened ..
that idea, or another similiar..
distant wars, fear, isolation..class on class hate..
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/45790781/ns/us_news-life/
For the past decade or so, I have noticed these local news stories about killing are .."national news'
Hell they are..they belong at the city desk, in the local news file.
In a country of 300 million, you can find any kind of news if you look for it.
Put it on the front page, and scare the pants off of people..
That is what the media is about.
A joke about a senior citizen confronting a young man on a bus #8
A young punk gets on the cross-town bus. He has got spiked multi-colored hair that is green, purple and orange.
His clothes are a tattered mix of rags.
His legs are bare, he is in shorts and the legs are covered with odd tatoos. His face and body are riddled with pierced jewelry and his earrings are big, bright feathers.
He sits down in the only vacant seat, directly across from an old man who glares at him for the next 20 minutes....Finally,,,
The punk gets self -conscious and barks at the old man..."What are you looking at you old fart...didn't you ever do anything
wild when you were young?..Without missing a beat..the old man replies: Yeah, back when I was young and in the navy, I got really drunk one night in Singapore, and I had sex with a parrot...I thought maybe you were my son..."
There was a mechanic in our local transit system that made over 110 G. (200 Gs in today's money)
He worked 6 to 7 days a week, 12- 14 hours a day, overtime on top of overtime. (he was nuts)
He fixed buses. engines, parts, etc.
He was addicted to work. (this was about 10 years ago)
I remember his story was all over the front pages..
He made more than the head of the transit system..
The guy was addicted to work, he worked on holidays, at nite, day etc.
so he got a lot of money..he earned it, the union had overtime, and double..etc.
He did more work in a week fixing buses then some of the CEOs of big corps. do in a year..
Philippines Floods 2011: Bodies Found Far Away From Ravaged Villages, Coastline
Huffington Post
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/26/philippines-floods-2011-bodies_n_1169671.html
MANILA, Philippines Fishermen joined Philippine navy sailors, police and firefighters in an ever wider search for bodies from entire villages swept away in one of the country's worst flash floods. More bodies have washed ashore, pushing the death toll to more than 1,200, an official said Monday.
While more than 60,000 homeless from hundreds of flood-ravaged villages spent a miserable Christmas in jam-packed schools and gymnasiums, search teams retrieved an additional 150 bodies from the sea as far as 60 miles (100 kilometers) from worst-hit Cagayan de Oro and Iligan cities, said Benito Ramos, head of the Office of Civil Defense.

I am not paying for someone elses health insurance
..even if in the long run...
.1. everyone in this country would be healthier
2. Recieve better and more complete medical coverage
3. Over all costs for medical practices and health in this country would go way down
4. A National disgrace would be ended.
It doesn't matter,
I am not paying for someone elses health insurance.
Also,
" I will not say why I do not pay for someone else's health insurance., I will not argue the facts or reasons..I am just not going to explain it.
or....
I believe that insurance companies can handle it better..but, I know that is a lie.
This is what modern "So called "Modern Conservatives" are

Polar Bear Being Raised by Hand in Scandinavian Zoo. (cute alert)
Yahoo News. and BBC
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/22/polar-bear-cub-scandinavian_n_1164883.html
COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) A Danish zoo says a month-old polar bear cub is being raised by humans after his mother failed to produce enough milk to feed him.
Scandinavian Wildlife Park manager Frank Vigh-Larsen says Siku is doing "really fine." The cub now weighs 7 pounds (3.2 kilograms grams) against 3 pounds (1.8 kilograms) at birth.
Vigh-Larsen said Thursday that the cub was two days old when he was removed from his mother after surveillance video inside the bear cave revealed that he "was moaning and being unruly all the time."
Vigh-Larsen says Siku would have been in danger of death if he had stayed with his mother.
Three people are giving round-the-clock care to the cub at the zoo in Kolind, 105 miles (170 kilometers) northwest of Copenhagen.

Heroic football player stops potentially lethal teacher attack
By Cameron Smith
By all accounts, the attack looked like it would be lethal.
In the moments after the school bell rang, a 40-year-old teacher brutally attacked a fellow teacher. With screwdriver blows from English teacher Ronette Ricketts raining on the victim, fellow English teacher Cynthia Glozier, a varsity football player thought quick, relied on his athletic instincts and stopped the attack in its tracks
According to New York TV network WPIX and the Poughkeepsie Journal, among other sources, Poughkeepsie (N.Y.) High senior linebacker Justin Richardson is now being hailed as a hero and a likely lifesaver as a result.
"I saw Ms. Ricketts just hammering her in the side of head," Richardson told PIX 11 TV. "I saw a lot of blood. It was shocking. I just jammed her really hard to get the screwdriver [to] fly out of her hand. If I didn't step in she would have killed her."
Luckily for all involved, Richardson did step in to stop a shocking attack before it became a deadly one. As it is, Ricketts is still facing charges of first-degree attempted assault, second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon, and is likely to lose a job in which she was previously highly respected.
